Since @RangerRickL is temporarily indisposed during his travels, he's asked that we continue to hold ourselves accountable.
Speaking of which...does a specific word (or phrase) come to mind when you think about what accountability means to you this month?

@maltedtea glad you got this covered. I was just checking on the thread. Love your opening!
I thought of my response before seeing that there was a list. My word, would have been "knowledge". From the list, I am not sure I could pick just one! :P4 -

No need to use ANY of the words in the graphic.
Knowledge is a great way to think about accountability!4 -
Accountability for me is linked to community. I need to be accountable to someone I trust to understand what I am doing and support me in the process.
Today’s exercise was a run in the morning. I also do stretches during my evening theology course session (I sit on the floor because I can’t get comfortable on the chairs with all the books etc I have with me). Food is logged and under budget but not my best choices for lunch. I went shopping for my friend’s daughter’s birthday present and it took longer than expected so I got hungry and bought unhealthy stuff. It is not my usual way of doing things so one bad lunch won’t derail me. My nutrition plan is simply to choose the healthy option the majority of the time. Today fits into that as it was the exception rather than the norm.7 -
Accountability for me is being honest

3rd Nov x 3 DONE. Exercise was 1 hour workout. 27 more to go 💪🏿6

Accountability has something to do with honesty and trust for me - in this context it’s a little bit like an internal contract that proves that I CAN and WILL do this 💪🏿 (As we all can and will)6

Exercise: YES (53 min interval runs, 20min weights, 15min stretches)
Calories: YES. barely....but if it wasn't for this thread, I'd be ordering fattening Chinese takeout right now
Tracked: YES
Was starving mid-afternoon so ate my dinner early and asked my husband if he would kindly fend for himself.
Kitchen is now closed for the night. No election night drinking either.8 -
@MaltedTea for me accountability means taking control of our own behaviors and understanding that we alone are responsible for the final actions we take; living according to our own rules, declaring them, agreeing to them, and following them. It helps us strengthen the feeling of being responsible for our own self control and self-direction, goals and outcomes.7

Yes x's 3 - no passes used for Nov.
Accountability...about responsibility mainly to me.... Being intentional and willing to be "counted" in all areas of life. Not shying away from the things that are important. globalhiker...with you on no election night drinking to be allowed...and no election night stress eating... I'm going to close the kitchen early... go to bed early and just focus on the positives of life.
GREAT NEWS FOLLOWS: For those that might not have looked back at yday's post... Oncologist ruled out cancers of all types/ including no leukemia or lymphoma. He is sending to another specialist for my other medical mystery...BUT his report really gave me a new lease on life...and made me really take into account what matters. I thought of my dear friend who was just told she is stage 4 and likely has a few months to live. To love on others...be more patient with all people...even those you don't agree with .... and to realize today could be their (and your) last time to see (insert anything here)... puts things in perspective. I hugged my sons a little longer than usual when I got this news... and when they found out what I had not told them...they hugged me longer too. I am praising God.
For all of you in parts of the world where acts of terrorism have occurred... please know...my heart is aching...and I am not alone. No matter what the media tells you... we care about you.9 -
Month #2 in the UAC group. Happy with how October went. Did well in the challenge and also took off 5 lbs along the way.
I am expecting November to be a challenging month. I would like to make the winner’s circle again, but at worst, I will accumulate the least number of passes I can. With all that will come at the end of the month (Nov 26 – 29), I need to really stay focused every day leading up to those dates.
For this round, I’m going to start logging my net calories since I think I should be looking into what portion of exercise calories I should be adding in. I have been getting some thoughtful input on this. There is likely going to be some evolution over the month, but I know there is a delicate and individual balance regarding total calories, I will update as I define. Starting the month on the same premise as October, with no exercise calories added.Date: 11/1

Thanks @MaltedTea My word is empathy. I've had to learn to have self-compassion for myself on my health/weight loss/gain control over my eating habits journey. While I have so much empathy for others, I was like, well what about you beloved? So that's mine. Thanks for starting this topic!
Yes, yes, and yes. But depending on how the election goes, I may be over on calories. I will take a celebratory shot if diversity wins and a consolation shot if...5 -

@MaltedTea I love your opening❣🌻
I find it important to be able to start anew a thousand times, if I have to! Also, to find a balance between being hard on myself (to admit the flaws and downs, so that I can work on them and improve) and not being too hard on myself (and consequently get discouraged). Did you want just 1 word? 🤔
Today was great! I have 350 cal left, went for a small bike ride with the boys and did a great 1/2h workout from HRs 12w programme (Heahter Robertson). I love it that she doesnt talk during the workouts 👍 and she's got good music, too 💃!5 -

@MaltedTeal What a great opener! Going off your list of words I would say mine would be...RESULTS! When I am accountable for my actions, thoughts, words, etc..it produces results. Now not all the time are those results positive, but it does get results.4 -
Accountability means being holding myself responsible for my own actions and reactions.
