As we head into the holidays, enjoy your family and call your friends and relatives. Reasonable flex is much better than guilt-filled abandon.
Be reasonable to yourself and loved ones.
Healthy habits are a lifestyle, not a fashion or fad.
You are important to you and those who love you!

Yes yes and yes.
Thank u all for sharing ur nsv's, i hve really enjoyed reading all the success stories.
My nsv is that i feel really good about myself atm and i also feel in control.
My goal moving forward is to drink more water. I made a conscious effort to do this today and noticed how much more full it made me feel. I must hve been mistaking dehydration for hunger.
My other goal wld be to actually sit when i eat as alot of times i stand and pick while im cooking or prepping food. Really bad and hard habit to break so if anyone has any suggestions on how i can achieve this id love to hear ur thoughts.9 -
This is the season when those who didn’t get leave call in sick 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ When you are starting from a half team anyway due to COVID it’s even worse. Grateful to the two staff members and two volunteers who all worked super hard today to get everything done. Once I’d finished with them I still needed to go get meds from the vet and buy a new nebuliser as ours stopped working this morning then nebulise the python. That gave me time to fill in all the record cards from the snake feeds we did. And to eat the food I bought when I got the nebuliser. I take a smoothie to work at the moment cos we generally have a shorter day and it’s easy to grab while we are working but today that wasn’t enough. I did end up a bit over budget but with my day that wasn’t too much of a problem. Exercise was morning yoga and abs and some shoulder stuff and evening Jiu Jitsu. Plus a full day of chaos with all the animals. 9 days to go (I technically have two of those off but I’m on training on one and have to go in to medicate a snake on the other.) Tomorrow will be easier even if not everyone comes because a number of the things we did today don’t need to be done tomorrow.11

Argh, just opened a box from my sister. Specialty shop chocolate!...... Fortunately, hubby just walked off with one whole block, but he told me the other two were "mine". After the halloween leftover fiasco this week, I'll need thoughtful planning to deal with these (no nutritional labels). I'm thinking weighing/portioning on a scale and then working them into my tracking.
With only 1 pass remaining, and xmas still to come, I am expecting winner's circle to be out, but I am trying to not resort to typical "all or nothing" behavior for me and say "I might as well be out for the rest of the challenge" and engaging in a two week binge.
@Dory_42 - You really have an amazing life!
@donna25trinity - Old trick I used to share at WW. Mint chewing gum while cooking. Not much taste good with it and the gum in your mouth makes eating anything else awkward and noticeable as you would need to take the gum out. Hope that helps.

Though I know weight numbers are not the primary focus for us here in the UAC, I want to share that for November (a fairly challenging calorie month) I managed to get rid of 7.2 pounds, and for the October Challenge another -5.0. I am now weighing slightly less than October 2019, which seems like a miracle. Target weight is in sight (129-130 – weight at my nephew’s May 2019 wedding) and doable in the next couple months. I am grateful for the results. Also notable for the November UAC, I entered and walk/ran a virtual 5K. I looked at the results and I came in 154/357 for total entries, 87/234 female, and 19/87 over 50 female. I would have been happy if I even came in last, because I entered. Being in the top 50% is super motivating even though I know this kind of race is not full of competitive runners.
So now for my December UAC. I am starting by raising my daily target calories by 50, and will be re-evaluating this every 10 days, as I want to start easing into my eventual maintenance calories. I don’t want to get go from lower calories to higher calories in a single day. I will be trying my best for the Winner’s circle, but need to be realistic and will at least commit to showing up daily and aiming to be a champion and aim to clean off 2 more pounds during December. Then, during my next 9 days in the Keys, I plan to walk/run to Sombrero Beach and even try to get you a sunrise photo (will take some planning ) and get back home. Google maps claims the distance is 3.3 miles each way. At for the rest of the month, my brain can only cope with planning til the 12th. Will regroup again once up north again.
BTW in November, I did not opt for eating back my “exercise” calories like I had planned. My problem with the method of eating back each day’s exercise calories is that that calorie number not compatible with advance planning and tracking, and I like to plan and pre-track my days. So this is the reason I am going try upping my planned daily calories instead and that way I can continue with the pre-tracking that works well for me.
Here we go!

*** MFP considers me under my calories for the day, but I am still currently not eating back exercise calories. So, Pass #1 used, but worth it – Oysters Rockefeller, and dinner of Seared scallops over Succotash with asparagus and a bacon ju. Lovely meal – no drinks or dessert. Ironic part is I was hungry by the time I got home. Speculating is that I will not make the winner’s circle this month, but still going to keep it in mind cause you never know.

*** got in exercise before showering and packing, and then, when we discovered the airport restaurant was not open due to lack of customers, my “healthy planned airport dinner” became a boar’s head snack pack from newsstand, plus two airline cheez-its and 100 cal pack of skinny pop. @Pearl0408 congrats on the pending nuptials and the power of family and friendship. I do hope we get to see this dress someday!
Spent way too much of my afternoon cooking and way too much of my evening washing dishes. Homemade biscuits (a dead simple Popeye's-esque recipe was shared in the main forums) were to be on the menu but I got tired of being in the kitchen. There's always tomorrow!
