It may be too late to show my Friday weigh in but getting it here just to put it out there. Like others- I'm very affected by sodium, bread, and all of the good things!

I was going to weigh in early but decided to show my Friday instead, just to be consistent.3 -

I am going to rest again today and hoping tomorrow I am back on my game. Please keep your fingers crossed that this passes as we start moving on Monday. I am off to have a nap and will check in later for weights. No test results yet.
So sorry to hear you tested positive! I'm glad you are able to sleep and recharge. Good wishes for your Monday move.1 -

Depends on if you're looking for a traditional chili or not. My husband and I have been making a great Texas Chili recipe lately, so it's beanless, spicy, and made with Chuck roast1 -

My husband would totally be down with that but I love beans in my chili. I’m looking for something with lean ground beef or ground turkey

I finally started tracking my food again. It feels good to be accountable. I ate too many Christmas cookies this week. The last two days I went for long hikes with lots of layers on to block that nasty north wind. My vegetarian daughter is home from college and making delicious healthy food, so I’m eating that in addition to the cookies. At least I’m getting some veggies in my diet. Weigh-in is tomorrow- not looking forward to that!2

@iHUSTLE4MUSCLE posted a good slow cooker Chili about a month ago. It is really good. I will type out the recipe tomorrow if I feel up to it. I think you can find it on Pinterest.3 -

The cocoa powder in it sounds good. Almost like a mole. I found the instant pot version of this recipe on the cooking classy website and I think I’m going to try this version.

Hi all,
Here for Monday check in, the last one of this year, crazy. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, mine was pretty chill. As much as it would have been nice to see people, a part of me enjoyed doing our own thing and in turn keeping people safe. Less stress all round. Like with most of us, I haven't been mindful this week on the food front, but, as the year is moves to a close, I am trying to start mentally gear myself up in the next few days in order to get back on the horse. As we move into the new year, I'm looking to gain a sense of balance that is manageable. My head feels split in half in wanting to go peddle to the meddle on food and exercise to get the weight off quickly, but then the other side of my head is saying that isn't realistic, little by little.
It takes me back to about 7 years ago when I'd continuously see a loss, I can't even really remember if I was even doing anything back then, I don't think I was, I just seemed to drop lots of weight off and the frustration of how much heavier I am now in what feels like a blink of a eye (which is logically isn't) combined with the impatience of it all in the fact it's likely going to take a few years to get to where I'd like to be. Is it realistic to lose 4 pounds each month? It seems so doable but have yet to strike that magic again.
Whatever happens next year on the weight loss front, I'm not someone who gives up easily, any loss is a loss and it all eventually adds up plus, I have you all right behind me, cheering me on which is cool and looking forward to continuing in the new year with you all.
To 2021, a year of good health
CW: 254.2 (no gain when I stepped on this morning, woo!)
p.s Sending well wishes to you Linda, hopefully you have a speedy recovery and your house move goes well.5 -
Check-in for 12/27
Water (90oz): ✅
Steps (9K): ✅
Macros (P-105/ C-115/ F-40): ✅❌❌
Fiber (28g):❌
Yesterday was a good day. I was under calories even if my macros were slightly off. Protein was high which was good because it has been really low lately. Carbs were a little high and fat was low. If the macros are going to be off, high protein and low fat is fine by me. Fiber was a little low too and I need to get that up a bit more. The scale rewarded me with a 1.3 pond loss today as this excess sodium and fluid is flushed out. It feels good to be back on track.
I am recommitting to daily check-ins. It definitely helps keep me honest and motivated.
Have a fabulous day.5
