DECEMBER Monthly Challenge

Options
Almost Christmas.........

I've been saying that I guess weight doesn't exactly matter at this time but staying as healthy as you can does, it seems however that increasingly it's being found that being not too heavy improves risk against many diseases including this virus so maybe it continues to be important. Additionally, for many of us, Keto helps us feel good and that can't be a disadvantage at any time.

Feel very welcome to join, we usually post our weigh Sundays and use the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' also in 'Announcements' to track weight.

You can post your weight here and also in the Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet which Stormy updates. If you want to post comments etc please use this thread rather than the Spreadsheet.

We use this thread to encourage each other and to add our weight as well.

Stay safe everyone and have a wonderful Christmas and let's look with hope into 2021 <3

Here’s hoping December is better than November for my weight loss. November began the eating season in my household. A two-week Vacation and Thanksgiving have all taken a toll on my discipline and good intentions. I am now back right where I started 2020 and I still have the month of December ahead of me. Although I haven’t given up yet, I have lowered my expectations and will be happy if I can just maintain my weight through December.

Let me be among the first to wish you all a happy holiday.

I can’t believe it is December already. Personally. I’m ready to leave 2020 in the rearview mirror and move on to better times. However, before we leave 2020, I’d like to make a little progress in my behavior, (something I can control) if nothing else.

For the last 5 days, I have done clean 18/6 fasting. I have been eating ketoish, but my primary goal has been to keep my eating window at or below 6 hours. My goal is to finish out December fasting daily and eating only when I am truly hungry. I’ve been struggling all year counting, tracking, and staying focused. So. I’m going to focus on this one goal and let my weight go where it goes. As usual. I will use you guys as my sounding board to report scale and non-scale outcomes.

Holding ground in my December battle against weight. December has not been a good weight loss month for me in the past, but I’m hoping to change that trend this year. Why not? 2020 has been a year of bizarre happenings. Maybe losing weight during the holidays will be possible. I guess one silver lining behind this Covid cloud is restricted holiday gatherings cut out temptations. Wish you all happy holidays.

*Goals for the month: I’m giving myself the gift of health this season by staying true to my plan! I have created MY Christmas food menu and will not wander off the path. Also I plan to do weekly 72 hr extended fasts, immediately followed by a 48 hr extended fast, followed by 2 days of OMAD (72 EF, eat OMAD, 48 EF, eat OMAD for 2 days, repeat) for the full month. And last but not least, I would like to enter the New Year in the 60’s - I don’t even remember the last time I weighed in the 160’s!

Good luck to all with your December goals! Happy Holidays! Stay strong! We got this!!

I am counting this week as a win. I had pizza last week. Real, pizza. I regret nothing LOL. Surprisingly, I was still in ketosis the next day, at a .8. I have no answers as to how. But, no only did I stay in ketosis, but also didn't gain. Got right back on the wagon the next day, and have kept on rolling. Was kind of an interesting experiment. Had the pizza, and then wasn't hungry until around 1:45 the next day. So basically an 18 hour fast after that meal. Anyone else have this happen?

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all. My goal is to make it through the holidays holding on to a weight loss for 2020. Only two more posts to go, Dec 27 and a final post on Dec 31. Actually, pandemic restrictions are working in my favor on this quest. Open house, party, and dinner temptations have been reduced or eliminated for me this year.

On the other hand, staying home so close to my refrigerator is a challenge. :o I’m looking forward to 2021. I for one am anxious to get back to normal. I miss my exercise group, bowling, and softball leagues. I’m optimistic the new year will include a return to activities that help us stay active and connected.
