What's on your mind today?

This is where you can share what's on your mind. Recipes, ideas, workouts, anything that you think might be helpful to others.
Maybe, you've tried something that has worked for you in the past and would like to share it with the group. Maybe, you have a NSV (Non Scale Victory) that you would like to share with the group. Anything that you feel comfortable sharing or anything that you feel comfortable asking the group with help....this is the place to come.
The GOOD!! What NSV did you have this week!!
The BAD!! So what....you ate the whole thing!!
The UGLY!! That darn scale went through the window this week....it deserved it too!!
So, what's on your mind today??

I’ve set myself three goals to be achieved by end of March and set up steps every two weeks that get me there. The January goals are
1. With under 70 kgs
2. Run 4.5 km in under 30 minutes
3. Do 3 full pushups
I’m also starting January with a two weeks of focus on healthy food. Meaning no unhealthy treats at all for the first 14 days. Just to get back in routine and counter the holidays splurges.6 -
Firstly, the first goal is to weigh under 70 kgs, not With 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Second goal has a 15 January goal of running 4,5 km without walking and 15 Feb goal of running 5 km without walking. Today I ran 4,89 km and could have done 5 km but I ran out of route. I guess I should adjust those goals to something that does challenge me.4 -

Happy new year everyone! 2020 was the year my baby was born so despite the horrible pandemic it still worked out to be the best year of my life. (God bless all the souls that tragically lost their lives to this horrible virus)Wishing u all a happy healthy 2021!9

Happy New Year to all!
Thanks Rick for this challenge, and I am happy to be able to be in for January. This has been really helpful to me.
I made the December Winners Circle for the first time since August, it felt good. I guess that's my big NSV! I was on vacation in September and out of cell phone/internet range for a week or so, I had surgery in October, and some lame excuses in November. As Rick says it is deceptively hard to make the WC, I am happy I made it and hoping for a repeat performance.
I did have a small scale victory this morning, a new low, 150 lbs. An amazing thing to a man who once weighed 360 lbs! Never thought this possible. I am not trying to lose weight any more, just trying to maintain, my current goal is to stay in the 150s so today's new low was at the bottom of that range, but still in it.
Look forward to reading of everyone's progress in 2021!8 -
Oh, my 2021 goal is to eat right every day, exercise regularly, and get into the Winner's Circle more consistently. I also want to stay in the 150s.donna25trinity wrote: »2020 was the year my baby was born

It's the first day of the new year for all of us. May this new year of 2021 be a year of successes, solid attainable goals, and personal joys. May our NSV's be plenty and the scale move in the direction we all hope for.
Personally, I'm hoping to be at a weight and low enough Cholesterol by March to get off the Statins My Dr put me on in October.3 -

Congratulations! My second baby was born 6 weeks ago so 2020 was great for us too 😊4 -
My son is home from college, so there is plenty of junk food around. But so far, I have stayed away3

What's on my mind? It took WAY too long for me to find my way back to groups. Geesh. I'm also going back to work tomorrow after a week plus off. Back to work really means dressing nicer than yoga pants and a sweatshirt before I walk down the hall in the morning so it's not a huge deal. I don't want to get caught up in what "HAS" to be done for work and give up what HAS to be done for ME.3

Hoping today is a better day for you, @ginadomaszewicz 🤗0

I bought myself a set of resistance bands to change up exercise. Lots of in the chair exercises for me to try out. Dealing with a bad knee is no fun. Always hunting down something new.3

On track with my goals. So far I have already hit all three of my 15 January mini goals so I have plenty of time to get to the end of the month goals.
I don’t often take the time to set mini goals like these, I just have the big final goal in mind but I will admit that it’s encouraging to get to tick off the mini goals on the way there.
Also checked my progress over the last year and was impressed at what I saw (I knew what I’d accomplished but I’m a data geek so seeing it in graph form makes me happy).

Found this video today. Pretty much what we aim for here, it’s the little changes every day that make all the difference. Jiu Jitsu focused video but the principle he discusses is universal.

So pleased yesterday. I was feeling really hungry and normally i would just give up, give in, eat junk and punish myself later. I made a conscious decision to eat more, chose what I wanted and ate up to my maintenance calories (I'm currently cutting 300 per day). It wasn't a huge amount extra, but I owned it and controlled it and that was a great feeling. Pass day on purpose :-)4

Got on scale today and lost 6.3 lbs in first week! Accountability works!3
-
Weighed in at 227 lbs this morning. That's 6 lbs down since 1/1, 4 lbs down since I started with MFP, and 17 lbs down from the fall. My son is home from college with tons of junk food laying around the house, but I am staying away from it!4

What a tough week. By Friday, I almost gave up. I had good progress until this week when everything appeared to go off the rails, personally and professionally. I've managed to track anyway. Some of the last four days stayed in my calories OR exercised. Today's goal, to get back on track.4

Well I haven’t been doing to well with this Challenge, I think I was still riding a holiday mindset where I can eat treats because it is....what? It is what? Even writing this I realize how off this thinking is especially when the holidays were so different this year.
Ok I know Im too far gone for the circle but I will do my best to log here my success.
On a good note I exercised today for the first time in 2 weeks and ate under my calories!
So one day at a time....4 -
Hey Arts, exercising is good, and so is eating under your calories. Keep it up and good things will happen.
I am having real trouble logging my food, mostly get error messages. This has been a problem off and on for a long time, but today and yesterday it is particularly bad. Anyone have suggestions?1 -
@artsmart422 It def is a difficult time of year and i can totally relate! Hope ur back on track today tho! This group helps us get back on track stay focused and positive wen we usually wld not. Well done with the exercise and low cal eating and all the best with ur weight loss goals. U can so do this!
@alligatorob on the odd occasion i hve errors wen i complete my diary but it usually comes good the next day. Sorry i cant be more help.
Hve a great day my friends!!!1 -
Thanks alligatorob and donna25 for the support I’m logging and even measuring everything so I can be honest( you know wink wink the cup of cereal that is really 2.5 cups) I’m done fooling myself, time to get real. I decided to either do this or just be happy a little fat and shut up about it! Lol It’s one or the other, no point in complaining about something, either do something about it or just accept it.♥️Love and honor yourself is my 2021 mantra🥰3

Good to hear and good on u @artsmart422!!!! U got this!!!0 -
My first time in the 140s since I was 12 years old, over 50 years ago! I am not still trying to lose weight, just maintaining in the 150s would make me happy. I am down from an all time high of 360 several years ago and 320 last year. If I stay in the 140s I may up my calories a bit.

I wld love to hear tips you all hve used to combat comfort eating. This 2 month uac journey i hve been on has made it very clear that i eat after stressful events. Wld love to hear how u guys manage this?? My whole life i hve always been so determined by eating healthy and exercising but always hve been on the chubby side and its more apparent than ever that this " comfort eating" i do to feel better after im stressed is wat is holding me back. Uac has been amazing as it is making me accountable and although i hve not fully stopped comfort eating uac has made me aware as to wat the issue is and i also can no longer just sweep it under the rug like i hve for the last 37 years of my life! I am 1.5 kgs away from being in the healthy weight range so am really proud of how far ive come! Any advice or tips wld be appreciated.

@alligatorob Wow, that is amazing! Congrats on your incredible weight loss and that you are doing well maintaining!
@donna25trinity I don't really have any advice but wanted to say how awesome it is that you are so close to the healthy range! Congrats on your hard work.1 -
@donna25trinity one thing I do is make sure that I don’t keep unhealthy stuff in the house, but that only works if everyone in your household is ok with the idea. I live alone so it’s easy for me.
Other aspect would be to find something different that brings you comfort. We all need to have some way to relax and reduce stress. For me, there is nothing like a good hard Jiu Jitsu session to get my mind off a rough day, but you need to find what works for you. I also love losing myself in a good book for a few hours.1
