The cultural lies of weight loss

Weight loss should be fast.
Once you start you should always be losing.
You must have an IDEAL weight goal.
You must only eat "healthy" food.
If you don't feel motivated you are doing something wrong.
If you slip up you should either be yelling at yourself or getting your accountability buddy to yell at you.
The sad thing is that even though I know all of that is NONSENSE it is hard to completely shut out things that I have heard or read my entire life. These things are influencers. They are no long major influencers but they whisper in my ear from time to time. I doubt I am alone.
What lies are hard for you to completely ignore?

The lie my brain tells are the hardest for me. The part of my brain that says I am still 400lbs and that I have to buy 3XL clothes. There is no way I can fit in a Medium even if I am wearing that size currently. lol
The Biggest lie that people who are loosing weight think is that this has to be hard. If I am not miserable then I am not pushing hard enough! That's why so many people fail. Has the journey been easy the whole time??? Absolutely not! But there have been more easy days than completely miserable ones. I eat what I want. I didn't cut anything out. There is nothing out of bounds. If I want the tiramisu then I will eat it; I just wont eat the breadsticks at the beginning of the meal.6 -
The ones that stand out to me:
You can only lose weight when you’re young.
You have to be fit to go to the gym.
If you’d just stop eating, you wouldn’t have this problem.1 -
If you lose weight it will magically fix every other issues in your life and you will have a blessed life forever after.
It’s just a a set up for disappointment. I’m trying to remind myself that there are plenty of things I need to work on and address which are not scale related (isn’t that an encouraging thought...).4 -
You do not have to exercise to lose weight....exercise tones you and makes you physically fit....you lose weight eating right!3
