Thank you for sharing your tears. We are here for each other.
Lovely. πSorry I've been out of touch for a few days. Things were messed up for most of the last week, but they're getting sorted out now.
In my part of Canada, Newfoundland, we have been spared a lot of the effect of the virus since we are an island and fairly remote. For months the most cases we would have were at most 1 or 2 a day. That all changed last week when it was discovered one of the variants had been spreading here, and the new case count went up to 100 one day. My daughter is front line health care. My son in law and 2 year old grandson had symptons that the health care recommends should be tested. They spent close to 4 hours in a lineup for testing last weekend and most of this week in isolation. They finally got the results early this morning and thankfully they were negative.
Anyway, my life is getting back to a routine again. It was more than the dropping off food and other things to be doing over the last week, it was the mental part of it also. I haven't become complacent with the virus, its just that we went from being relatively safe to going into lockdown overnight.
Anyway, I appreciate this group and hope to get back to tracking and posting regularly over the next couple days.
I am so glad they are okay!β€οΈ3 -

I forgot to post before bed last night so posting on Friday morning - on page 3 instead of my usual first page.
Exercise: yes, cardio 15 minutes, walking 60+ mins.
Tracking: yes
Calories: yes
Pass days used: 0/3
Tracking was difficult today β Iβm not doing the cooking myself so a lot of it is estimating. But I set my calorie βbudgetβ quite generous for this week so I shall count it as a pass.
Went out for two walks with my son today. We were out a long time but slow and spent time leaning on a fence talking (and crying).
@RangerRickL Thankyou for the message today, very apposite.

I am still here, and yes, yes and yes to yesterday. But again I did my logging elsewhere.
I went to my new nutritionist yesterday my first visit to a nutritionist ever. And I got a whole new diet, more fat and less carb are the big things. And with a 2 week kind of restart with a lot of changes, no dairy and no sweeteners, sugar or artificial will be the hardest for me. But she says its just for 2 weeks and then a readjustment will happen.
I did convince her that she could get access to a myfitnesspal diary so I will try logging here again. I am still concerned about how hard that can be for me, I get error messages 60+% of the time when I try to log, and sometimes I can't log at all. I don't know why my logging seems to be harder than most of you. I have a very good internet connection, no similar problems with other websites...6 -

Plans for setting calorie goalFor February, I will be joining the others in the group that are here for accountability while maintaining. I am adding 200 calories/day to my January target calories, for a total of 1680. For comparison, MFP stated that my maintenance calories should be 1610. Weβll see how this goes and adjust daily calorie goal if I begin to consistently gain.
Also, I will consider calories a βyesβ if either my food is under 1680, or my net is under 1400. Both of those numbers are 200 calories above my January numbers.Date: 2/1

*** I owe a bunch of responses and will catch up today. At dinner time last night, I made gnocchi but scalded my hand and dropped my iphone into the recently boiling water when I tripped on the dishwasher door while carrying the pot to drain while calling for information to help get my advanced senior parents their COVID vaccinations. Amazingly, saved the gnocchi, iphone works (was in the hot water at least 5 minutes β Kudos to Apple), parents got their appointments, and I after a long evening trying to treat my hand I feel asleep with mega dose of advil and my wrapped hand in a bucket of cold water. This morning, I think it is going to be ok. Still tender, but I think I wonβt lose any skin. Last night, I tried to type on the computer but could not, and for my indoor cycling I did it will my hand raised over my head. The cycling increased blood flow made my hand burn like heck. BUT, no Pass day. I am saving those for something I enjoy!!!

@alligatorob do you use the smartphone app or the website to log your food? I sometimes have difficulty on the website when I'm trying to log food, but if I do it on the smartphone app I hardly ever have any difficulties (at least with the food diary). So I use the laptop when I'm commenting on the threads (like UAC), but I use the smartphone app when logging my food.4 -

@alligatorob I mix and match my devices for tracking. For general searches for foods, especially new, I use my laptop. I use it also for 98+% of community posting as i can type. I also use the computer for entering recipes that I want converted. For copying past entries or copying current entries forward, again I use the laptop. The best feature of the iPhone for tracking is the remembering of previously tracked food (ie as I am typing it is matching), but I think even that seems to have a timer on it as I will find that no food will come up when I know there should be a match. I'm getting faster and faster with how to force the laptop tracking to do what I want. Hubby ONLY tracks by phone, but then again, I track all his dinners for him via my laptop.
Oh, another related point. I don't know if it is my computer, but your browser can matter. I go through whole stretches when Safari will not properly track and I have to switch to Chrome for me. I'd use Firefox, but that is where I am logged in as my husband to easily track for him when requested.2 -

I do all of my logging via web browser on my iMac. I only have trouble with errors sometimes and I retry immediately which so far has always worked. But it's not everyday. Maybe 1-2 times a week and it only started in the last month or so as far as I recall.1
