I've been thinking a lot about one specific fact that @MadisonMolly2017 has shared with us. When she was chosen to participate in the 'weight loss maintainer" study, they shared with her that the NUMBER ONE most common success characteristic is an hour/per day of walking.
We don't have to be extreme exercisers to be healthy and fit.

Went for a quick half-hour walk this morning, because I had woken up feeling fed up and it was a beautiful morning, but paid no attention to my posture or my breathing, just wanted to put in the steps. Will go again this afternoon, even if it's only for 15 minutes and pay attention to this. Walking as a form of 'being in the moment'? @MadisonMolly20177

Walking is something that has been very helpful for me these 4+ months. Lately though, I am struggling to include it. Three snowstorms in 8 days. This morning's temp is 12. It is so frustrating to not get out there. But next week, that will not longer be an issue for this year. Looking forward to getting back to walking more.
Oh, and the right shoes FOR YOU are a must. I cannot believe the difference my current shoes have made for my ability to walk and even run, despite a growing Morton's neuroma.9 -
10th February:
Exercise: Yes. 35 minutes walking this morning, another 15 minutes this afternoon, trying to be more aware as to how I walk. Well, I seem to do it right! Walking in my Mum's cast-off shoes though ...
Calories: Yes, stayed under.
Tracking: Yes, logged everything.6 -
Exercise yes 10 min quigong, 10 min yoga, had to keep exercise short as snow here, so had to prepare car and leave early, life gets in the way sometimes! 30 min cleaning, too cold for me to go walking today! Really love getting out for a walk

Morning my friends yest was a pass day or shld i say an epic fail day for me. Socialising with friends so i had a cocktail then came home had another drink which made me pretty drunk as im not a big drinker. Then had dinner, just a store bought quiche that i chucked in the oven. Got the shock of my life wen i tracked my calories this morning. No amount of exersise could burn off that quiche. Ha ha. Ah well lesson learnt weigh and track in the moment dnt just guess it will be okay!! 2/3 pass days used. Hve a great day all ill jump on here later to catch up on past comments. Xox8

Under our current lockdown rules we are only "allowed out" once a day so I have to choose between bike and walk. I do lots of walking exercises indoors but you don't get a proper walking pace or stance as you are constantly either going forwards and backwards or round in circles! But when i can get out more I will try to remember the tips above.
Also, the indoor cardio "walking workouts" include a lot of movement that isn't walking.
It was freezing again today but dry and bright so I told myself not to be a wimp but "just do it" and went out for a 30 minute ride. The sun always makes me feel better.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 1 h 27 min of walking.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, 1155 / 1200.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, 1,570 ml of fluid. Not good enough for sure!
Pass days: 0/3
Today was one of those days when you wake up earlier than usual for no particular reason. So I was feeling sleepy throughout the day and didn't know whether to walk today or take a pass. But then it would be such a waste, since I'm tracking everything, that's why I decided to walk for 20~30 min. But I ended walking even longer than usual 😂.
@SModa61 Walking helped me so much as well. Since I don't know exactly how much I burned from other exercises ( muscle training and anything unrelated to machines ). As long as you've some type of steps counter, you can easily predict your progress.6 -
Exercise - yes 30 mins on exercise bike but woke up too late to do Pilates before work. Must be more organised tomorrow!

@oh_jackie thsnk you for the good knee wishes! And yes, I do love Pilates, I’ve done it for a long time, initially because of a hip injury. Glad to be able to get back into it and hoping soon I won’t have to fast forward the kneeling sections!! Also btw agree re Uniqlo heat tech, I buy it for myself and my daughter.7 -

@bill70sstrong From what I have been hearing, don't be too surprised if you feel a little rough tomorrow, but then fine by the next day. I also hear recommendations to try and not take meds to counteract any reaction as you want your body building the immune response. My parents (86 and 84) get theirs tomorrow.5 -

Your comment today re: not needing to be extreme excercisers to be healthy was really on target today @RangerRickL ! I’ve had this pain all day that feels like a kidney stone (not that I’ve had one before, but it sure feels like it!) 😥. So I didn’t do as much as I usually do or would’ve liked to, but stayed on track...

Exercise: Walk day here as well! 40 min outdoors. The sun was out and was only 32 so trying to enjoy the sun between all the GD snowstorms.
Calories: Yes, 4 left! Lol.
Tracked: Yes.
Still holding onto that last pass day that’s unused!
My 5 week forecast after closing out my journal for the day is FINALLY showing the 170s so that’s a treat. (187 as of this morning - down 54!)
Something I’ve been debating putting out there for a couple days but it keeps bugging me so I might as well: What are your thoughts on goal adjustments mid/post journey? I keep seeing height weight charts that have a top weight for my height that’s lower than I thought. My goal was 160, as the chart I originally used said the top of normal weight for 5’8” was 167 and I have a larger frame and I tend to build muscle so I have always been towards the higher end even in my skinny days. I do want to be a little under though so I’m not constantly fluctuating over that “overweight” line. I just saw a bunch where the top weight for 5’8” is 160 so I’m debating if my goal needs to be lower. I can’t decide if it’s meaner to myself to extend my goal out another 10lbs and set my progress back 10lbs mid journey or “reach my goal” but not really be done. Both seem very defeating. Height/weight charts are just mean. Lol.
Anyhoo. I hope everyone had a good day. ❤️8 -
