HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. At the end of the month we celebrate everyone who lost every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:

Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You need support to maintain, and you can help your teammates join you. You continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month and year begin!!

    ~~ Hello Everybody! ~~

I'm Ashley. I'm currently a captain of Team Weight No More, along with the fabulous Melanie, @melaniedscott . I cannot wait to see where this month will take us, especially as we now have the ability to better track milestones and your loss-to-date (LTD). I also think that we, as a team, have found our momentum and I'm intending to ride it as long as possible.

    About Me:

I am 25, living in Ohio, working as a chemical engineer, setting things on fire for money and climbing on large metal structures with industrial tools. Basically, I get paid to do all the things my mom told me not to do as a child. Add in my propensity for talking to strangers and I become a nightmare for any parent who worries too much. I promise, I'm safe and smart about my actions. Usually.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in December 2019, after a month and a half of misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis. Since then, things rapidly started falling apart - Covid-19, quarantine, a salary cut, the gym was closed, stress eating... you get it. But I'm incredibly grateful for the coping mechanisms I've picked up, the discipline I keep rebuilding every time I get flung from the wagon, and the wonderful community I've had behind me the entire time.

If you are curious about me, I have a blog. You can read it here. There, you can find my struggles with eating properly, making it to the gym, handling personal crises, and proving over and over again that I'm not as funny as I think I am.

    My Weight Loss Adventure:

I joined MFP in September 2014, but did not take any of this seriously until May 2017, when I graduated from college. Since joining, I have lost over 70 lbs, reaching my lowest weight of 155 lbs, only to regain about 15 lbs while working in France for three months. So, for now, I am still working that off. The pandemic did not help my progress, but it did prove to me that I am strong enough to tackle the challenge.

Current Weight:167.2 lbs, as of January 28th.

    Goals for February 2021:
    • Get back into the groove of eating properly and exercising regularly
    • Stay on top of my MS mitigation
    • Be kind to myself when I (ahem) "mess up"
    • Be consistently involved with Team Weight No More
    • Maintain my good habits when it comes to hydration, stretching, and good posture
    • Remain consistent with my newfound resistance training routine
    • Continue reorganizing my apartment and downsize my large stack of cardboard boxes

Please reach out if there are any questions regarding the team, technology (I'm a millennial, I know plenty of good tricks), the science of weight loss, cookie recipes, etc. I'm here for you.

Hello everyone! I’m Theresa and I live in downtown Toronto, Canada. I've been on the team for just over one year. I've learned a lot from the members, Ashley @minstrelofsarcasm is an outstanding captain, and Melanie @melaniedscott is going to be awesome as co-captain. This is a great team!

    About me
I have two grown children. My daughter Elisabeth lives nearby with her partner, Jake. My son Phil lives in a small town an hour away with his wife, Katie, and two children. Pippa is 3 1/2 and Gilbert is 1 1/2. I have a Havanese dog named Xavy.

I had a career as an advertising and publishing executive. For years I ran, cycled, swam, and did Pilates and weight training. Then one day, as my daughter says, just like Forrest Gump I stopped.

    My weight story
As a child, I was an average weight, except this one time when my next-door neighbour's grandmother babysat and introduced us to three-course lunches with whipped cream. When my children were small, I weighed a bit less than 120 lbs, probably from chasing them around. In my forties, I was at my ideal weight, a toned 142 lbs. I'm 5'5" for context.

Three and a half years ago, when my granddaughter was born, I saw a photo and didn’t recognize myself. I did look like a happy nana and I’m sure I was comfy to hug, but I want to live to be a ‘little’ old lady.

In January 2018, I weighed 177.4 lbs with a goal of a toned 142 lbs. I reset this goal to a toned 145 lbs because I acheived that a couple of months back and found that it's perfect for me.

    The present
I recently launched a business called Ancestry Detectives, which is an on-demand service for people to hire professional genealogists. We now have six genealogists and will be interviewed on TV in a couple of weeks, which is exciting.

It's also unspeakably busy and can get in the way of consistent weight loss. I do well at my calories but am sometimes chained to my desk.

To take stock, I did accomplish a 360 degree career change which I'd liken to turning an oil tanker around at sea. I do believe slow weight loss and resting at plateaus is a healthy approach.

I can't imagine if I'd spent the last three years launching a business without controlling my weight. There were so many opportunities to stress eat along the way.

    My February goals
    • Work out 3 to 4 days a week - HIIT, Spinning, and walking.
    • Get closer to my new goal weight of 145, specifically to 147.
    • Determine my maintenance range, I'm thinking 144 to 148.

    Welcome new members!

    Hi all,

Damn, these new threads seem to come round quick! Quick intro then, I'm Shelli, live in Edinburgh, Scotland with my best friend/flatmate and our kitties. Have always struggled with my weight, even from school days (ironically I look back on photos when I was convinced I was huge and think how much I would love to be that size now), and have tried probably every fad and 'quick fix' diet out there. I reached my heaviest weight of 210lbs round the end of 2019 and decided in 2020 enough was enough. I made it down to 175 but have crept back up into the mid-180s so need to get my kitten back in gear.

I joined this group probably a year ago (woot, WNM anniversary lol) and it has been a big support through a very up and down year. Like most people Covid stress and lockdown has not helped, and I've struggled with mental health issues for the last several years, which have certainly not been helped by everything going on.

    So Feb goals:
Get back to being more consistent with the logging every day
    Meal planning
Get the evening snacking under control!!!!
    Stick to the exercise schedule
Aiming to be back in the 170s by the end of the month

Been a pretty good weekend so far, stuck to my calories (had a really nommy sheet tray gnocci for dinner last night) but missed my exercise class yesterday morning - my sleep schedule has been screwed up this week and slept right through it lol. I'll try and do a video one today but much prefer the live classes.

@melaniedscott - so sorry to hear about your cousin, it's tragic when people that sweet are taken so soon *hugs*

:star:The Green Challenge :star: Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!! B)

    Hi,
I’m Rachel. I joined the WNM group last month. My goal is to drop my pounds in increments of 10 until I get to my goal weight of 130 to 140ish. I’m currently at 186. I turn 40 in November so I suppose that would be a great time to be at my ideal weight. When I reach my ideal weight it will be my third time since my late 20’s that I’ve lost and been at 135pounds just to gain it back and more. I’m going to make this time different and learn to maintain my weight this time round. I need to lose it and then “make it stick”.

My routine now is to exercise 3 days/week. Eat 1500 cal/day, eat less than 100g of carbs, and fast for 14hr/day. So far the weight is coming off great. I’m averaging about 2 lbs./wk loss.

My goal for February is to stay in the green and to be in the upper 170’s by the end of the month.

Hello and welcome new team mates.
My steps were horrible last week. I am in the middle of some family issues right now so I didn't really get any exercise in. I am trying to get back to routine, it felt good to workout this weekend. Get rid of a little stress.

    Anyway..

I'm Tracy, I live in New Hampshire, I have two boys 23 and 26 and 2 granddaughters 11 months and 15 months. I have been married for 25 years. I am an assistant director in childcare. Every day is a new adventure. We have 4 teachers going out on maternity leave, yikes, I am going to be subbing in our pre school class. They are fun but they are the bossiest class we have, I am terrified of them, lol.
I gain and lose the same 5 pounds always no matter what I do. I am trying to work on this. I go to zumba and have been using my ifit ap with my treadmill and I just recently bought a bike. Hoping this will help with the loss.
I started pt on Friday for my feet, I have to go for a month, hoping this is going to help. I have the same girl I had for my neck so that was nice.
I have been watching my oldest granddaughter all weekend. She should be picked up soon. I'm really tired though, takes a lot out of you. When she leaves I have to run to the store, we are getting a ton of snow and I could use some new boots. I didnt want to drag her out because this whole weekend had been freezing temps. I cant wait for summer.

Good morning WNM! Welcome to all the new ladies & gents!

    Right now…
I might not be a very good motivator or, well, anything really, for a bit of time because I’m in a sad place emotionally right now. I got word yesterday that my cousin’s 17-year old daughter passed yesterday afternoon of Covid. She had been diagnosed with one of the uglier forms of leukemia when she was 4, been in remission for about 10 years and then it came back. They thought they’d beaten it a time or two. This last summer, immunotherapy seemed to be working. And then Covid around Thanksgiving. She’d been in the hospital since just before Christmas and intubated on a ventilator since New Years. She was a super sweet kid. She had every reason to feel sorry for herself. To whine. But she didn’t. She was happy and positive. She loved to bake and hang with her friends and…she was just a great kid. She will be missed. I’m really sad about this and for her family.

Oh Melanie, I’m so sorry to hear about your young cousin. What a loss. Take time to grieve. Big hugs.
  • Intro to follow - I've been a bit MIA and missed last week's weigh-in. I had a migraine and a very large work-load at work (that's not going to change any time soon) and I kind of just didn't log into the community. I think I'll just start again for Feb...

    xX_PhoenixRising_Xx
    Weigh day; Sunday
    PW: 245.5
    CW: 247.3 (112.2kg)
    LTD: 92.1 lbs (41.8kg)

So this month, I would like to lose some weight. I'm a bit sick of bouncing up and down the same few kg, so something's gotta give I think.

I don't want to change my calorie deficit, because what I'm following is safe for my ED recovery, so I'm going to focus on logging consistently, and exercising consistently.
  • I’m Kristy, I'm 42 and from New Zealand, married for 18 years and have 4 kids – 17, 15 and 12 (twins). 2 girls, 2 boys and if you ask me if my g/b twins are identical, I will tell you yes (why do people always ask?)

By day, I am a fearless Technical Writer, braving the realm of a male-dominated engineering company and translating their stick-figures, mutterings and wild gesticulations into payments compliance for the end product in various world-wide markets. By night (and early morning) I kick *kitten* in my own home (garage) gym. I am a qualified Personal Trainer, but that doesn’t pay the bills - hence the muttering engineers, it’s a living – but I love knowing what I’m doing in training myself and my teenage son. Hubby is also qualified, so we usually train together.

    That Weight Thing
It’s a long story, that involves being overweight since childhood, super-morbidly obese in my 20s and early 30s, and being diagnosed with both Binge Eating Disorder and Anorexia (while I was still ‘overweight’ on the scale).

Quite a few years back I turned down weight loss surgery, decided to lose weight on my own, and lost 160+ lbs. Then, after maintaining for a few years, it crept back on, about 100 lbs of it. I hadn’t dealt with *why* I got to be so heavy. That took addressing my ED’s, a lot of therapy, being banned from tracking my food, and redeveloping my relationship with food before I could look at losing weight again in a healthy way. That’s what I’m doing now.

    Health
I did quite a bit of damage to my body when I lost a lot of weight the first time. Mostly from under-eating (which I didn’t realise at the time) and also from fainting a few times. The past 7 years I have been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Chronic Pain and severe migraines. It has been very limiting, and I hate being limited. I’ve seen so many doctors, specialists and alternative therapists that it’s a running joke – most of them don’t have a clue how to fix me. Recently we think I have Myofascial Pain Syndrome, and treatment for that has allowed me to be pain-free a lot more than usual. So I’m feeling pretty great!

    2021
My goal for each month is to finish it lighter than I started, and for this year I’m working on making changes to my body through weight-lifting, regular cardio and a moderate calorie deficit. I’d like to look something like I did at my lowest weight, but without the active ED.

    The Past Few Months
My weight has been bouncing up and down the same few kg, but I am regularly lifting weights *and* I now fit into a pair of pants that have been sitting in my drawer that never fit me before. My smaller t-shirts are also feeling looser on me. And I can fit into some of them.

I need to remember that even though the scale might not move, it's a lying *kitten* and sometimes other changes are happening. Which doesn't mean that I can't tighten up my logging, but I also need to be kind to myself and accept that losing weight in my 40's is a *kitten* compared to my 30's!

@minstrelofsarcasm - I love your story and your February goals. The poster was spot on, it sure speaks to me. Every day is a new challenge as well as a new opportunity. Consistency is the KEY to unlock the door to good health.

@Zumba_Luvah- sounds like you have a goal set and I am pulling for your success!

@dbrinkmeyer – love the build your empire build your life! Great that you can work with a trainer, especially for a good price. I hope that February is a month of goals met for you.

@1theresamcvean – love that Zavy is helping you work, he is such a cutie! Your goals for February are great. I am pulling for you.

@rachelrjh – 2 pound loss – awesome, congrats! Hope that you stay in the GREEN.

@melaniescott – you have already been a role model for me, keep on keeping on…… I enjoyed reading your story and getting to know you better. I am pulling for Wonderland for you! My prayers go out to you and your family for the loss of your relative due to Covid. This is such a horrible disease and we can only pray that the shots work. Take whatever time you need to grieve.

@podperson 1 – I identify with one of your goals in particular, the night snacking. I have started asking myself “am I really hungry” sometimes it does work.

@ljdanny – I hope that the therapy will help your feet. Hard to do a lot of exercise when having foot trouble. I can identify with the 5 up and 5 down. Hang in there, we can both do it!

@xX_PhoenisRising – logging and exercising consistently is a great plan, good luck with it. I love the goal of each month finishing light than you start. I have dieted off and on forever and never thought of that. Love that your clothes are fitting better, the scale is never the end all. Great attitude and thanks for sharing your insight and inspiration.

Hey y’all, I am Debbie from Wilson, North Carolina. I am 68 years old, married to Larry for almost 46 years. No children but we have 5 nieces and a nephew and grand nieces and nephews. I am a retired teacher and was doing a lot of substitute teaching and many interim positions. I worked about every day until Covid. I live in the country on a farm. I love to walk, I tolerate strength training (I did not say love yet). I guess it takes a while to build that relationship. I love to BAKE. Nope, baking is not a good hobby for someone that has to watch weight. I have been a yo-yo dieter all of my adult life. In April 2013 I was at an all-time high at 173 pounds and climbing. All of my clothes were tight and I was depressed. While sitting on the couch (probably eating a snack) I was watching the television show "The Doctors" and saw a segment on My Fitness Pal. I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a shot-nothing to lose, but maybe some fat. I joined MFP April 9, 2013 and have logged every day since. I also bought a fitbit zip in August of 2013. MFP and my little zip gave me just what I needed. I upped my game to a fitbit Versa 2019 at Christmas. One of those “me to me” gifts. I have met some amazing, inspiring, supportive people on MFP that have given me the encouragement and support that I needed. I knew what to do, how to do it, but I just didn't have my heart in it. I am now around 125-129 pounds and am walking 10-20 thousand steps a day and lifting light weights. For me, maintenance is harder than dieting, but I am doing ok. I thank all of my new friends here in our F2F group & the habit tracker for helping me stay focused. I have definitely had a few ups and downs. When you log every day you realize this and make adjustments. One thing that I have found helpful for long term success is to record my weight yearly on my profile page. The following weights were recorded on my birthday (May 6) each year of this journey. I try to use 127 as my "magic number" to watch out for weight gain. When I weigh 127, I jump back into diet mode for a few days and it seems to work for me.
Started MFP on 4/9/13 with a starting weight of 173. A year later I was 136. 2 years later 126.
Currently bouncing around between 125-130. I think due to Covid and staying home, baking and eating out of boredom.
The habit tracker is really helping me stay accountable, especially for my strength training and water. I often find myself drinking water and lifting weights at 10 PM or later. Yes, I gave my word to myself and I don't want to disappoint ME. Sounds crazy but it works for me.
I appreciate all of you and together we can make February a great month. It is a month of LOVE, grasp it and show it in your daily life.

You will read my mantra many times: KEEP ON KEEPING ON………………………….
