Hello February!!! Hello everyone!
Melanie you’re impressive with 10k steps! Today I’ve accomplished 5100 steps so far and I haven’t taken my dog out yet!! Woohoo! Yes people, I actually went out to walk myself today! It’s really the only thing that helps me. I’m needing to remember to do a little stretching first... feeling my age in my hip it was pouring rain, however, I enjoyed myself so much!! I will try to get out for my own walk more often until it becomes that habit again!
Today I received that weekly update from mfp.... woah.... I had how much mayonnaise??!!! I did not log from last Thursday on until today, so my week was not representing what I want for myself. I’ve learned that even if I fail, it’s better to log it.
I’ve had two small glasses of water after my walk... now I’m a little chilled sitting reading and not feeling very hungry so instead I’ve made a yummy hot drink! 1 1/2 cups of unsweetened plain almond milk in a Pyrex 2 cup measure, then add a large nob of peeled and scored fresh ginger and heat in micro until real hot! Then, to my big mug, I add a large pinch of cinnamon and a few drops of real vanilla then pour the hot ginger flavored almond milk into the mug and stir! Flop in a big chair with a blanket and voila... heaven!
And only 54 cals!
My snack will be celery sticks with salmon cream cheese later today then having a normal dinner... left over pork roast! It’s a pain to log dinners like that, but I will do it!

Today was a nice day. I had several students gone, so I had some extra time. It was a fast day. I had two skittles at the end of the school day. I feel so wild and crazy.
Way to go @melaniecheeks ! That is a very good goal!
@mamainthekitchen You really do well when you are able to walk. It seems to be your happy place. LOL about the mayo! Your drink sounds yummy.
Off to do some stuff and then, hopefully, get some sleep. My health app keeps yelling at me for not sleeping.0 -

Good morning!
We had a pretty big snow storm here yesterday. We got over a foot of snow. Reports are it was around 16 inches for our town. Crazy! My guy is in the process of cleaning off the car as I type this!
Been working our way through the leftovers in the kitchen. Almost time to make some new recipes. Sticking to my Keto WOE and drinking my water. Can't get to the gym when it is bad weather, but in time!

Today has been such a nice day! The weather is beautiful, I worked half a day and then had a training that got out way early, so I came home, took a nap and now I am getting started on taming my paperwork mountain.

Thank you, @KateNkognito I appreciate the prayers. My Dad will be going back to the specialist on Tuesday of next week. He will stay there at the facility for a few days, doing a bunch of tests. Hope to have some positive news to report once we hear from more Doctors. In the mean time my sister tells me that he is in good spirits. I like hearing that too.
Things are good here. Sticking to my Keto WOE. Going to make some more recipes soon as we are getting low on make a head food prep stuff.
Looking forward to some brunch plans on Sunday with some friends we haven't seen in ages. We are heading upstate for the long President's Day Weekend, coming up soon. Looking forward to that too. COVID-19 has really made me feel so isolated at times. Making and looking forward to plans, even for just a few hours is good for my mental health.

Tried my first ever pork shoulder roast on rotisserie yesterday.... for pulled pork! Made a rub and cooked low & slow for 7.5 hrs!!! Unfortunately I started at 3:30!!!!! The neighbours must have been wondering what the heck was going with the delicious aroma in the air at 11pm!! Haha.... I finally took it off then wrapped twice in foil so I’ll shred it later today.... we all sampled a piece last night and boy it was amazing!! I plan on freezing portions! There ya go Meghan.... meal prep ideas!! Haha
Well, I’m having tea and am contemplating my day... dog at the vet so I’m a little lost. Have a good & healthy day!!0 -

It is a happy Friday to me so far. I am down 2 lbs this morning! WOO HOO! Been a very slow couple of weeks, weight loss wise. Very happy.
More snow coming for us on Sunday. *screams* So much for the brunch plans we have. Those are probably going to get rescheduled sigh...
@mamainthekitchen That pork shoulder sounds fantastic!! I am going to have to make one of those soon for us. YUMMY! I usually put stuff in around 11am or so and do slow and low for six to eight hours. I try and set a reminder in my calendar so I don't forget. LOL
Hope everybody else is good. Anybody have any fun plans for the Super Bowl? I am a New England Patriots fan so no dog in the fight but I will be rooting for my boy, Tom Brady to win Super Bowl Ring Number 7!! WOO HOO! Let's goooooo....

Got a blister from my runners! Need an insole or heel grip.... glad I’m out walking by myself again , that plus my dog walk adds up!

Long week, but I finally broke my plateau!
@mamainthekitchen Your pork shoulder sounds delicious! I also had to laugh. I am the same way when my dog is at the groomer, I don't know what to do with myself if I am not being ordered about by a small dog! LOL

We are going to have a little fun with the Super Bowl. I have to go to the store today and get some snacks. It will just be us. I was born and raised in the Kansas City area, and I still live in the Midwest, so I will be rooting for the Chiefs. Sorry, Meghan!2 -

Sorry for being MIA over the weekend! Flew by!
Yesterday we were pretty much snowed in all day until dinner time. Good news from here is that my guy and are moving in to a new, larger place at the end of this month. Very exciting and busy time for us!

Hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl @mamainthekitchen! Yep, that Brady guy does have a lot of rings. LOL I watched the game on and off due to packing / tossing / cleaning / moving prep! Missed the half time show which a lot of people didn't care for. LOL

Hey great news about your new place Meghan! That is exciting... moving is such a pain but it’s so great to get rid of the junk and start fresh!!
The hubs found a low carb beer! It’s a local brand here but there are more available to try! Mine tasted a bit like a Heineken so I liked it, especially coming in at 1.5 carbs per tin but still had 110 cals.
Your team won Meg but you didn’t miss much! Terrible half time... ughhhh oh well, it was an event and it felt fun to pretend we were having a party!!
Does anyone subscribe to Wholesome yum? I keep getting offers for bundles of ebooks but never buy.... figure there’s plenty free recipes on her website as it is. Also wondering what macros everyone is using (if going that route). I flip flop from counting macros to calories... ?

Had a remote learning day due to the weather. Teaching in my pajama pants? Yes, thank you! Also got caught up on a bunch of paperwork. I was actually about to put in for a sub so I could work in the spare office at school when I got the notice, so win-win!
@melaniecheeks That is amazing! I have a friend from Manchester that has always wanted to run in the London marathon. That is so cool that you get to!
@Meghan509 Congrats on the new place! I hate moving, but purging and sorting always feels great.
@mamainthekitchen I am glad you had a nice time with the game and a beverage! I can't do low carb, it makes me woozy, so it is always calories for me. Honestly, I think as long as you watch your fast timing and cut back on what you eat or how much you eat, it doesn't matter. You do you!

The marathon, and my birthday, are both in October. Plenty of time to train! I have a 5 km run next weekend which is a “red dress run” for the local chest heart and stroke charity. I’m known for my costumes, so I’m dressing up as Little Red Riding Hood, with one dog as the big bad wolf, and the other as the woodcutter.3

Today was a good day, but I am exhausted. Fasted for 20ish hours except for the two Skittles at the end of the day. Had a nice little dinner, and will fast til breakfast tomorrow.
I hope you all are doing well! It is so stinkin' cold! Supposed to be -20° F wind-chill this weekend! Where is summer when you need it?!

Sorry for being MIA, crazy here lately! At the office today for a bit and soon heading back out to my local Goodwill to donate more stuff that we are getting rid of! This weekend we are taking a long weekend (office closed Monday for President's Day holiday. We are going up the line to spend the holiday with friends at an AirBnB. Everybody has been laying low so we don't spread the virus. UGH.

Just started my fast timer. I should get 20+ hours and then another 12-13. I have been a little (a lot) loosey-goosey about my fast day meal. I am going to be more strict about it and make sure I am tracking on feast days, too. Almost bed time. Have a good rest of your week! Stay healthy!1

Kate what do you use to keep track of your fasting? Sounds like that’s really worked for you. You’ll probs burn some good cals just trying to stay warm!!!! We were at -2C today which is 28F .... forecast is calling for more of the same all week!! Brrrrr
Great job clearing out the clutter and donating your treasures Meghan! If it’s hard to get rid of ‘something’ take a photo!! That helps me.
I’ve had some low cal days but am not able to walk on my own because of blisters... my dog walks are slow, but wouldn’t you know that when my mind finally wants to get walking again my feet don’t!
Special blister bandaids are in use!!!

@mamainthekitchen It is stupidly cold here. The wind chill is supposed to be in the -30°C range Sunday thru Tuesday. And 6-10 inches of snow. We are supposed to set all sorts of records for cold and snow in the next few days. I hope your feet heal quickly!

Woke up to snow!!!!!
Only 3” but still.,,, beautiful to look at! Our roads are clear and it’s still coming down. Keeping my blisters in check so I’m almost glad of this snow!
Being mindful of eating and when I crave snacks/treats etc.... mind over matter and sleep has a lot to do with it for me!

Drank way too much red wine last night!! Nine years today since my sis passing Guess I’m allowed. We did enjoy really good bbq steak too...yes, I bbq in the snow!!
