Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes, treadmill 35 min / 1.92 mi + crunches & pushups
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
[Mon-Sat] Did I do treadmill AND weights or abs? yep, abs
Pass Days Used: 3/3
I think for the month I only missed one day of weights and none of abs. I'm too lazy to go verify. But, adding that as another accountability item seems to be helping. There were some days early in the month that I went through the motions instead of pushing myself but I seem to have gotten over that hump for the most part. I will be keeping this for April.6 -
Katiecan2021 wrote: »A pass day today, and not a good one. Did lots of exercise, ate well for lunch and breakfast but....baked for my sister and parents for an afternoon tea to celebrate unseasonably hot weather and being allowed to meet in a group of six in our garden. And I just fell into stupid old habits. Ate cookie dough, picked at the (terrible!!) vegan lemon drizzle cake and also ate a scone once we all sat down together. My husband invited everyone to stay for dinner, I had a few Doritos and other than that my dinner was fine but i can still feel the effects of too much sugar now, hours later. I’m super disappointed in myself as I thought I was really moving on from old bad habits. On the plus side I said no to alcohol which is actually pretty amazing for me. Certainly a few months ago I would have been on the vino tonight! So I’ll take that as my positive and move on. Looking forward to waking up tomorrow and being rid of this horrible sugar effect.
Life happens. But using the rule "never two times in a row" can be very helpful5 -

Unfortunately, I had to look up a kilogram conversion to pounds to get the picture.
My apologies and congratulations!!!
Your not so smart friend, Rick
Thank you Rick! Next time I will make this conversion for you3 -
Yes, yes, and yes for me. No pass days used which to me is incredible and I got a good night's sleep last night. So I feel pretty good.

Yes, yes and yes
Walking, 5 min core and stretching
Was really tired and kind of under the weather during the day though I don't really know why. I have had both vaccine shots but I can't help but automatically google COVID symptoms as soon as anything seems off. It is such a habit for me now. Maybe one day this will pass and I will just think I am feeling under the weather...3 -
@Katiecan2021 - one “bump” doesn’t mean you haven’t made progress. If you were on a road trip and hit a pothole you wouldn’t say “oops bad me, I’d better drive all the way home and start over.” You’d say “darn it, better watch closer for the next one so I can miss it.”
@transparentenigma - sorry you had such a tough day. Sounds like an early bedtime was the best thing for you to do.
@znaoiec - hope you’re feeling better. I’ve noticed no one is getting colds or flu, I’m sure because of the masks, so every time I do cough or sniffle, my husband right away launches into a bunch of questions about how I feel. I got my second shot on Monday and the week prior I kept thinking “I’m almost there....don’t get sick now!” I agree, it will be so nice when this isn’t a threat anymore.
Still at 3/3 passes. There’s no way I’m messing up now! I honestly cannot believe I made it. Even when I joined this group in January I wondered if I’d make it even once in a year. It was something I wanted to aim for, but wasn’t sure it was realistic for me. January I had 8 pass days, February I think was 6. So yes it is possible and boy does it feel good!4 -

another day from hell. anyone ever had one of those days where you just wanted to go back home and get into bed and start the day over tomorrow. today was a test of my faith. it seems as though a serious of unfortunate events were happening all day to me. the only good thing was, and I just realized it when I reached home. in the past bad days like these would have had me eating my feelings, or shopping (which I can't afford right now)
or eating while online shopping
, I only wanted to get home and go to bed. I guess that's a NSV, I am now hopefully changing how I deal with stress
I'm so sorry about your terrible, horrible, awful, really bad day my friend, but GOOD FOR YOU for not eating your feelings (or SHOPPING!)Seriously. When you are in a foul mood, or in a funk (as I am currently), it's very hard to not give in to those emotions. Huge KUDOS to you!

@Mrs_Hoffer I am so sorry about your knee. It's so frustrating when you are trying to be healthy and your body is not co-operating! After I started do a lot of spin, one of my knees really started to bother me, so much that I couldn't get on the bike. I started doing yoga instead and it went away and hasn't bothered me since (which reminds me I need do get back into it). For me, I found out that my hips were getting pulled out of alignment which was causing my knee pain. Anyway, I hope you find some relief soon and are able to enjoy your walks again!1

Thoughts for daily calories goalI need to revisit how I am handling my daily calorie goal for maintenance as I am “failing” in that regard as I lost another 3 lbs while “maintaining” during this month. Having two variables of food calories and exercise calories is challenging for me. In the past I have lost and maintained with less significant exercise numbers so it was more a single variable. I do not want to drop back on exercise as I am doing it for overall health and fitness.
Just use MFP to calculate my maintenance calories/day. Nutritional needs are estimated at 1590, and it predicts that with exercise, I would need 1862 for 1 hour exercise for days/week. Average Apple Watch TDEE for February was 2126. Average calories consumed/day for February were 1686. With three pound loss over the month, to maintain, I would have needed an additional 375 calories/day for a total of 2073/calories/day. So, my thought for March is to consider my daily goal, 1590 plus daily exercise, but, for planning sake, I will expect that number to be around 1900 calories.

@Mrs_Hoffer Not that you need any more exercise ideas because you already find so many, but when your knee is ready, I wonder if something like an exercise bike could be a good transition. I can't think of any way that a knee could hyperextend in that position.1 -

It sounds like you hyper extended your knee and you have to wait for the muscles and ligaments to tighten back up. Make sure you are not taking any muscle relaxants as those would contribute to the problem. Give it a break for a few days and then slowly ramp up again. A sprain like that is normally 4-6 weeks total recovery and you can handle that. Plus if you DO have a bike it might be better for it right now? (all this is just internet advice and take it with a grain of salt but since I have a LOT of scars on my knees I do have a little experience sigh)
