The Stand by Stephen King..questions

I've read 38% of this massive 1,150 page book.
I am thoroughly enjoying the story except for one part.
Ok I know it's a Stephen king book, but I don't like scary / supernatural stuff.
Does the man with red eyes who is in everyone's dream have a major part in this book? And will I be terrified?
I almost gave up on it when he was talking to the prisoner and got him out of jail.
But then he wasn't mentioned for a while and I really like the story lines of various people meeting up. And the whole concept of the book is so fascinating. Especially since we're in the middle of a pandemic.
I'm currently at the part where Larry (the rock n roll singer) meets up with Nadine and the kid. ( who is also a little scary).
For reference, I loved a few other S King books like 1963 and Misery. But gave up on several others.. not a fan of the occult.
So, should I give up on this or continue?

@bebeisfit I don't remember it's been so long, I'm sorry! I'm going to look for it after posting this, it's in one of the boxes in my closet.0

@bebeisfit, it's been about 40 years since I read this, but I do believe he plays a significant part in the book. I think you should probably stop reading. (I think I'm remembering correctly.) Hugs...0

It's not letting me edit my post even though I'm in the editable timeframe. I just wanted to add the following:
Sometimes I'm able to listen to a book that I "can't" read. I found False Memory by Dean Koontz to be so disturbing. It took three tries, but eventually I got through the audio book. Not that you should torture yourself or anything! 😉0 -
Well I feel like I've come this far that I need to finish it. I'm at 72% and they have formed a republic and are sending 3 scouts/spies to the other side.
Frankly, I just want to finish it and see how it ends. Hopefully I won't scare myself silly.
I feel like this scary is different than other books.
I have never attempted a Dean Koontz book. Likely won't either.
Next up perhaps a light read.
Thanks! @PKM0515 & @Katmary71
