A post from the regular forums eluded to this group. I think i qualify, although I'd like to think of myself as a Large Winner. But meh, I'll make it work!

So a little about me...

I'm 48 going on 49 this May. The largest number I saw on a scale was 480 pounds. A Transportation company that let me use there industrial scale gave me that figure... And I was most assuredly over 500 pounds at one point.

I have no idea where I am now. I'm not going back to said transportation company, and I really don't care to much... I figure in good time I'll be able to step on my home scale and get an accurate reading... Eventually.

In the mean time I've been killing it and feeling super motivated, and that's all I need for now. I've been obviously I've losing a lot of weight thus far, judging by many little things and a whole lot of squishyness.

My biggest flaw in my adventure so far is... Exercise. I have yet to really step it up outside of just being more active in general. Much quicker to get up and do whatever needs to be done, and not being a sweaty mess as we go about our weekend grocery ritual. I even stand up and cook in the kitchen from time to time, instead of hunkering down on a chair as I do my thing.

    Good Morning!

    Glad you are here.

    Life is Very Good!

I like to believe us larger losers are the most wonderous (wiser? wilful? wicked?) winners. It just comes with the package of losing large. :)

I agree completely!....you exercise to get fit, and you lose weight in the kitchen!...I dieted one entire year with very little exercise!...now I walk a little and swim a lot!

Thanks Guys, sure enough last night after supper my right foot started to swell and ache... It seems to be just a muscle pull, and not gout which is something I would have bouts of during fast weight loss. I feel a bit better this morning so pretty sure I'll be 100% by tomorrow again.

I have no recollection of stepping wrong or tweaking anything... So I guess it's just a random thing. Although I did have an over exuberance of energy yesterday, Perhaps I had a little extra bounce in my step, coming up the stairs? I know I've hurt myself plenty of times, trying to walk faster, specially taking the stairs like a champ.

All is well though... And I'll just play it by ear, I'm just happy that for the most part every day is a good day!

EXCEPT TODAY... Slept like crap with aching foot... (I tired) :)

UWI - Unidentified Walking Injury. Gotta hate those!

Hope it feels better soon so you can carry on having good - GREAT - days.

Watch the knees and the paws when extra heavy. Exercise great but not required. Of course you feel as if you're flying when you're dropping weight!!! I can assure you if I put a 40lb vest on for an hour (not even walking, just sitting at the computer) I am flying when I take it off... and I've lost >3x that. Of course exercise is good; but yes, I'm a believer in trying to act during weight loss the same way you intend to continue acting after.

How true, I am down over 30 pounds from hip surgery last March. My boyfriend and were just saying when I get my other one done eventually the process will be SO much easier on us all when I'm fitter. The surgery will be less risky and the PT will be easier as I won't be as atrophied.
I do walk a little on the treadmill and at 184.6 it is still hard on my knees and hips. I wear a knee brace and an ankle stabilizer (had a torn Achilles 8 years ago, that stuff never heals 100%). I'm only at 2.5mph for 35 minutes. Go slow and stay without injury if you can.
