Well, a baby step in the right direction.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm excited because today the leprechaun is bringing hubby his second vaccine shot! Mine is this Friday . . . can't wait to get these in our arms!

Lois, I'm so glad you got to play with Rhea on the Together app, and I know that game well. The 3 year old in Cali calls is "I spy with my wittle eye". And your granddaughter FT and gifts is so sweet . . I'll have to check out that book series because mine are all big readers. I felt envious of your Saturday down time. . I'm craving a day like that. I can't do it until after the wedding though . .
I hope you're able to get your numbers down without a statin. I finally gave in to my doc and started a statin last October, and it did work really well according to my tests a month ago. But, my numbers were high . . not borderline. You will likely do fine with dietary tweaks alone.

Kelly, probably most married women can relate to the lack of appreciation and being taken for granted. I went "on strike" a few times when I had kids at home. I don't remember that it worked for very long :| But, maybe it shows them momentarily how much you do. My hubby is pretty tidy, but he does some strange things that go against that trait, like leaving his shoes out by the bench in the hallway for me to trip over. Yeah, the bench is there for you to sit down and take your shoes off . . but, put them away. I just end up kicking his shoes under the bench every day, but he never gets the message. I've told him, too. Deaf ears. Tunes me out, and literally deaf ears too, lol.

Sarah, hopefully your increase is only water. Spring is just around the corner, and we can start walking and hiking outside again. I'm really hoping the President is right about July 4th, and I hope we have the green light to fly soon. I don't want to fly until there is an official green light given by the CDC. If anybody in my family got sick because we pushed it, I would be devastated. This is why we need a trusted, non-political CDC. We need to be able to believe the information and guidance given.

I did a weight workout on Sunday, and it left my butt so sore I could hardly sit! I did no workout on Monday, but I did plant some pansies and primrose at the clubhouse for the wedding, and some raking and clean up. Of course, the HOA has someone do that, but not this early in the year. That made my back sore. So, yesterday, I did some cardio to try to loosen everything up. This morning I feel a little better, but still pretty sore. If I have time, just a walk and some stretching might be all I attempt.

Well, I'm off to get chores and errands done before my online dates. Today, it's 2 grands and later tonight our family Zoom. <3 Have a great St. Patty's Day.

Well this was a nice surprise. I guess that jump upwards was mostly water after all, although my food diary showed no reason for that. And because that was such a shock, I have been more careful with intake since, so that probably helped, too.

Sheesh, I can't imagine how busy you are with the wedding a week away. Since you're no longer on FB, send us a photo or two from the wedding by email. Your daughter is so beautiful. I can just imagine her as a bride. And yeah for you on the reduction and all that activity. I always notice a difference--at least in how I feel--in the springtime when I'm out digging in my flower beds. I don't think the human body was designed to sit as much as we do.

Today I'm off, but I have been at my desk all day anyway doing personal paperwork and getting ready to do taxes. Because of those stolen checks, I am being a lot more vigilant about all of my accounts since there is always a chance of identify theft after information has been stolen. And that yahoo has my name, address, phone number, bank account number, Medicare number, and mortgage loan number. Again, I hope he was just desperate for some money over Christmas, even if he knew he'd be caught and it would be taken back from him later.

It's good news that three of us are on our way to being fully vaccinated. Kelly, I hope your Dad and Mom get theirs soon and that it's not that long until younger adults can get vaccinated, too. I know you are all probably aware that we're holding our breath for a spike in cases after spring break. :(

And thanks for the kind words about CDC. When CDC was being forced to change info or not release info it was tough. These are scientists who just want to do what they can do to address this situation. I got a chuckle yesterday. We had a member of the public challenge us on something due to some bad info he probably heard in the social media. And he did it in a very disrespectful way. I was struggling to figure out how to explain in lay language when my client said, no--give him the full boat scientific explanation. I think it was her way of saying, "we're back--and we're not going to spend valuable time debating nonsense."

Lois, I'm borderline with my cholesterol, too, and fought with my doc about statins until she finally agreed to stop if I got that MRI or whatever it was. That showed no blockages, so having a borderline number does not necessarily mean that there are problems. Like you, I prefer to try to dietary changes, although as you ladies know, getting my fat percentage down is quite a struggle for me. I had a physical in late December and for some reason, they did not put my numbers in my online account like they usually do. I know they were busy with year-end physicals and their transition to a concierge practice, but I have an appointment Friday, and I'm going to ask for them go back and do that. I'd like to know if I'm improving any.

Well, the afternoon is almost gone, so I need to wrap up here at my desk and get to walking. Hope everyone is having a good hump day!

Remember I did have a jump up last week and then a good decrease this week. Part of it was watching what I'm eating and the other part is that I wasn't feeling well Monday night and all day yesterday. Ran a low temp just over 99 but I was freezing and had the shakes something fierce. I quit working at 230 (just before my big meeting) and climbed into bed with flannel jammies socks and tons of blankets oh and Tylenol and Advil soon followed. It finally broke last night about 630 I woke up in sweat and all of the blankets tossed off and my socks somewhere in the bedding. Gals I usually sleep naked with a sheet and micro fiber blanket with as warm as we keep the house for mom. I was FREEZING. My first vaccine was six days prior so I'm very confident there is no correlation. I just have no idea what triggered the fever. No upset tummy, just the fatigue, aches and shakes. Feeling much better today - now to catch up. Today I ordered Pho Ga from my favorite place for lunch and dinner. I feel better, but I just love that stuff

Sheesh I've been thinking of you and the wedding. How nice of you to plant the flowers! We are still waiting for vincas to arrive in our stores here to plant. All of you must be very very excited. And yes, please email us some pics of the wedding- including one of you in your ravishing dress! So excited.

Sarah - great job!! Super excited to see a reduction!!! And I agree about the statins. This is the first year I've been over by a few points so I'm going to work on my intake to get it gone.

Kelly hoping we hear some good news from you this week as well.

Happy belated anniversary sheesh Hoping the wedding went off without a hitch and you guys had a good time

Taking a break from Rhea boot amp while she naps. Took me over an hour and 2 miles of walking and her crying to get her down today. We will play on obstacle beams and slide when she wakes up. Grammy rested as well

Lois, it sounds like Grammy burned a lot of calories at Rhea boot camp! Honestly, I find that cleaning or doing something other than exercise often burns more calories than walking or doing some kind of video.

Thought I'd just pop in and say hello. I am having a bit of an issue with my thyroid. For years, I have taken the same dosage of Synthroid and my TSH level has stayed around 2. But I forgot to go off the biotin my derm suggested I try for my nails, and I also discovered that the last bottle I got was a lot higher dose, so I think I've been taking way too much for a short time. Anyway, I knew that biotin can affect the thyroid test so I told the doc when I went in on Friday, but she said since I was there anyway, she wanted to go ahead and draw the blood and if the results came back way off the usual, we'd do it again.

Well it was very low, so I have to go back on Friday. In the meantime, I'm wondering if my headache and being colder than normal is due to too much biotin. However, I don't want to do much searching on that and scare myself to death. :o So I'm just going to totally stop for the next 5 days and then I think I'm going to just switch to a multivitamin. I haven't seen improvement in the nails anyway.

    Isn't it always something? :s

Sheesh's daughter is getting married on Thursday (yeah!), so I'm not sure if we'll see her on the board this week. I know she's really busy. And I know they love this young man and his daughter, but it's a big deal when the youngest gets married, and poor Natalie has waited so long for this wedding. What a trooper.

Kelly's strike is over, but who knows what is going on with her work. There may be some post-strike issues to deal with. But I hope it's not too crazy and that she finds time to check in.

Perhaps in a week or two, if things calm down for all of us, we can start with the goals and challenges we've talked about forever. :)

Oh man I was off a week. I somehow thought she was getting married this past Thursday! A couple of more days! I kept checking email looking for pictures. My nieces daughter in TX got married this past Saturday as well. Crazy kids. haha

And yes, I'm still sore from Rhea Bootcamp. Lots of walking, running and picking her up and raising her up. I need to be like that grandpa in the commercial and start swinging a kettlebell around.

Positive news in AZ, they've opened up vaccines to anyone over 16 for Pfizer and 18 for Moderna.

Sorry I have been MIA. So much stress with this strike stuff and with the weather being nicer, I have been outside a lot more.
We're actually still on the rotating strikes, but not a full strike, which we narrowly averted. We were presented an offer by the company on Thursday last week and have until this morning to vote, but our union has recommended we reject it... and I think that's what's going to happen because the offer was insulting. If that does happen, then we continue our rotating strikes until 60 days have passed and then we can get into arbitration, which the company has not been wanting. So far I have only lost 1 day pay but I'm sure there will be a few more. The union says if we picket, we will likely be eligible for some sort of pay by them. I guess we'll wait until this morning to find out what's happening.
But stress eating has been bad... and it's that time of the month, so that doesn't help either. I find that the week before that happens, I'm ravenous. This week all I want is sweet stuff, which is odd for me. Must be the stress.
I was on a good roll with working out and getting my steps in and then that stopped. I have been helping in the basement - sanding drywall mud is a good arm work out! and have been doing yardwork, so it's not like I'm doing nothing, but just not getting actual workouts in.
Hoping for a better week this week.

Oh Kelly, hoping the stress relieves a wee bit. My Daddy's union went on strike a few times that I can remember and that's the only time Daddy was super irritable. He would work 2 and 3 jobs and not be as irritable as when they were on strike. He also worked on home projects on the days he didn't have to picket...so stay busy and focused. It will work out in the end. That seemed to help his mood...and hopefully it will help you get through it as well. I know it's necessary to get fair compensation and such, just want to be sure you are able to do something to keep yourself ok through the process.

Thanks hun. Appreciate it. The vote came back this morning with 88% as rejection of what they offered. Not surprising at all, as it wasn't even close to cost of living and the benefits they were offering were laughable and not even "benefits". I just wait to hear now when I'll be on strike for this week. At least the weather has improved a little, so picketing won't be unbearable. But.. due to covid, there are no porta potties, so I'll be running home every hour to pee I'm sure lol It's supposed to rain/snow this week, but at least temps are in the pluses now.

Dad has his appointment for his first shot on April 5 and my Mom just got an appointment for April 13. They're moving along quite quickly now that we have vaccines to give. I still wish they would consider giving it to the RCMP, as they deal with the public all the time, but so far they haven't made them a priority group in our province and 2 others, so my brother will have to wait his turn based on age. He'll be 37 this year, so he's got a bit to wait.

So great to see that some of you are already on your 2nd shot! I feel like the end is near, even though we have these variants to worry about. Spring Break isn't as big in Canada as it is in the states. Normally Canadians would travel for spring break, but they won't be doing that this year.

The wedding is coming closer and closer! Always great to have something to look forward to! I'm sure they can't wait!!

Kelly I'm glad your parents are scheduled. I felt better once I had my MIL scheduled. That way if hubby or I did catch it, at least she would be protected. That's odd that the RCMP isn't considered part of the first responders groups . I believe we had all hospital, police and fire having the option.

I can't imagine the excitement and anticipation for Sheesh and Natalie. Less than 48 hours! How exciting for them. I remember feeling this way for you and Shawn (what 2 years?). The joy that we all bring to one another is awesome.
