12-day streak
🌿🍀🍃
With the scale decreasing, and my wt in my maintenance range, I decided to give myself 500 extra calories for Easter - still no sugar - and came in using only 388.
1 hr 56 minute hike, 500’ elevation, burning 90 more calories than my average
So net +300 😃4 -

@mshawski - giving your body a day of rest is a very smart thing to do! I’m really impressed you made it 4 months though! You’re amazing.
@MaltedTea - I love your posts so much, you have such a great sense of humor, you’re inspiring, and to top it off, you’re Canadian!?
@pamjsa - congratulations on breaking that plateau! Slow and steady really does win the race. I have to keep reminding myself of that same thing.
@TheresaM787 - stick with it, make a plan. You might want to consider spending a couple weeks figuring out what your maintenance calories are. That way, you won’t feel deprived, and you’ll learn what a reasonable range of calories is for you. This maintenance concept is new for me, and as I keep saying, my newfound hero is the “half size me” podcast. Episode 477 might help you. Sorry if I’m being obnoxious!

What a great Easter Sunday. Six mile hike with great friends in beautiful weather. No calorie counting and no regrets!! It's all about the balance. And there's a lot to be said for being happy. Back at it today. Goal is to plan and stick to the plan. Lots of water. Meet UAC goals.
Pass days used: all 3. But that's ok. I'M HERE AND BACK ON TRACK ☮️6 -

Well, it’s day four and I haven’t hit my calorie goal once. Today I consumed double what my goal is. Tomorrow I am getting back on track.
Pass days left ZERO
May I suggest that you relook at your goals? One of the reasons we start a string of "failures" is that we put ourselves on a rollercoaster ride which never ends well. It goes something like this. Day 1. I overate past my goal. Day 2 starts out OK I will just take those extra Day 1 cals away and then I will be even. By the end of Day 2 you are starving so you binge out even more. Day 3 same thought process. same result. Overeating also stretches out your insides so they actually DO feel more hungry. How do you get off this cycle and back to reason? I think BTW had a great suggestion as to figure out your maintenance calories? Why don't you just put all the BAD days in the past and when you start afresh, eat at maintenance for several weeks to allow your body to succeed and make the decision to be successful versus punishing yourself and then just spiraling down the rabbit hole with the restrict/binge/restrict rollercoaster cycle.
Also so something small. 20 minutes of exercise could simply be housework or some yoga stretching? It's not required to be anything but what YOU want.
Logging. Well that's up to you. Some folks do not actually log but how do you know you consumed double of what your goal was if you haven't tracked? Sometimes I think I have gone WAY down the drain and when I bite the bullet and log it, I am like "well jeez... that wasn't the end of the world after all".
Hope this helps.

Busy work day but it was the last of the 7 and everything is done. Then church in the evening with my man. Not much free time to eat badly so all good on the food side and work covered my exercise for the day (running back and forth between the two sections plus carryImg heavy boxes of fish around.
My Smeagol enjoying his crayfish yesterday. On Monday evening I had to deal with some public posts about how terrible we are for taking him away from the wild. The people complaining were the ones who have been hand feeding him which is one of the reasons he can’t be released back to the wild (he now associates humans with food so could bite people who don’t feed him or steal bait with hooks in etc). He also came in very skinny so obviously wasn’t able to get enough food for himself even with the extra they were giving him. It’s not such a fun part of the job when you are attacked for helping an animal.8 -
@Dory_42 - I think you’re a hero for helping animals. Some people just gotta complain.2

@biketheworld
Thank you so much. I’ve been meaning to look into what my new calorie goal will be (changing to maintenance). Thank you for the suggestion of the podcast- I’m going to listen to it tonight.
Hope you had a wonderful day!1 -
