"Running gives freedom. When you run you can determine your own tempo. You can choose your own course and think whatever you want. Nobody tells you what to do."-Nina Kuscik

"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit."- Dr. George Sheehan

15 miles starting Sunday and ending Saturday... Yep that easy and you know you can do it! Just log your daily miles, the total miles for the week and encourage your fellow challengers to make their goals, yep it's that easy.

"Run when you can. Walk when you must. Crawl if you have to. Just never give up." Dean Karnazes, the Ultramarathon Man

For the folks returning you know that the 15 miles is not the main goal. The main goal is just to get up and get moving, if you don't meet it that's fine and you surpass it, well that just freaking rocks.

For new comers the preferred method of posting miles would be:

Sunday-miles-what you did Monday-miles-what you did Tuesday-miles-what you did So on and so forth, posted daily or when the miles occur...

Total- Running total for the week thus far

As always this is not set in stone, if you post every other day or whatever fits into your schedule, but please try to stay close to the above format.

For those folks that don't do miles:

for conversion to be made easy (Thanks Nonafit)

Now let's get moving folks :)

"You have a choice. You can throw in the towel, or you can use it to wipe the sweat off of your face."-Gatorade ad

Reesey - Awesome Gatorade quote! Hee hee!

    SlothRun/Walk/Crawl:
    Sun: 3 mile run

    - - -

Week So Far: 3 mile run.

At the park I was running in, there was a big Summer festival and there was a group of folks doing fancy hoola hooping tricks - from like a 4 yr old to a 70 yr old! I also saw a couple sitting on a bench w/ their French Bulldog and their Macaw.
The Macaw was just sitting on one of the guy's shoulders. I guess he's clipped so he can't fly away.

    He didn't talk though.

ETA: The bird - I meant that the bird didn't talk.

Mon morning 15 min core workout
Mon late afternoon 5 mi run/walk including hill work
Tue morning Cross training (Hard Core Abs) 45 min
    We 2 mi walk
    Thurs 3 mi walk
    Fri 2 mi walk
    Sat 6.7 mi run/walk

    18.7 mi

Using Shaun T's workout video's for core and ab work. These are lodes of fun! The reason being they are mainly dance. and I want to tone upper body without getting hurt.

Sept 8, I'm running a local 10 k. This will be right up my alley, because it's run/walk.

Keep up the Awesome work and have a Great Holiday!
