Yikes! A full pound. . . not surprising though.
Well, ladies, sorry to be so MIA. I had anticipated the wedding business and stress, but I had not anticipated how exhausted I would be and all the work afterward. SO MUCH WORK, lol. Sorry to disappoint, but I have only one photo on my phone of father / daughter dancing. . . I'll try to figure out how to post that later. . I'm in between online time with kiddos right now. The photographer is in possession of all the photos she took, so I'll find out about that from my daughter. BTW, my oldest daughter is Natalie . . the bride is Vanessa.
It turned out so beautiful, and went off without a hitch. The officiant was wonderful, and said the most beautiful things about marriage. There were tears for sure. They also said their own vows to each other, and I couldn't believe how much in love they are, especially him with her!! They included his daughter in the ceremony too. They gave her a necklace as a symbol of their family bond, and my daughter told her "I didn't give you life, but life gave me you . . and I couldn't be happier! I promise to be the best step mom I can possibly be for you". . I had a very light buffet for before and after, some dancing, cutting of the cake, champagne toasts, and visiting. The live stream was really good according to my tech savvy sons and SIL . . it wasn't on Zoom. But after the live stream, people who wanted to chat with the bride and groom were able to click on a Zoom link that was interactive. So, they spent some time chatting with friends and family there too. Then, we locked the clubhouse door, and drove to a really nice, upscale restaurant not far from our home where they provided a private room with enough spacing of the tables for Covid. We had a beautiful dinner (I had halibut because this place is famous for their seafood) and some people had steak. Then, off they went from the parking lot. They had a "mini-moon" at the Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake. They're back to life now. But, in the meantime, they had moved into a house they're renting for a year while they try to get going on building a house. Things couldn't have been more hectic! She stayed at out house the night before the wedding. The hair a makeup lady was coming early, so I got up at the crack of dawn to get myself ready, set out a light brunch for everyone here (groom came with his daughter to change downstairs, maid of honor), and then I met the flower lady, the tech person for the livestream, the photographer, the cake delivery, etc. at the clubhouse. I got it all set up, and then hubby drove her down the street to the clubhouse, and we snuck her into the ladies. All this with a strict on time start at 1:00 p.m. because of the livestream time. Lordy! Luckily, everyone was on time, and she started down the aisle at five minutes after! The logistics were hard because his parents live an hour away, and she and her groom and his daughter live about 30 minutes away from us. But, everyone found their way, got dressed and ready on time, and didn't go hungry. And, it was really fun, especially for the bride and groom. I was so glad we were fully vaccinated. We still wore masks some. They had "Bride" and "Groom" masks, and I found "mother of the bride" and "father of the bride" that we wore, especially into the restaurant. Everyone had been quarantining with family only prior to it, so we felt very comfortable, and there were only 21 people in a high ceiling (fans too) place.
Guess who had to go clean up the clubhouse afterward? The next morning the rental people were picking up chairs, high boy tables, linens, etc. Guess who returned the cake pedestal to the bakery, froze the remainder of the cake? Washed dishes of mine, loaded dishes of the clubhouse into the dishwasher . . . . on and on! I was totally wrecked the next day! I had leg cramps all night (high heels) after because I didn't drink enough water. I haven't been that tired in years. They still have gifts here to pick up, etc. . It feels like the never-ending wedding, lol! But, they looked SOOOO happy to finally be married! And, I'm feeling better now. I worked out really good yesterday, weights and cardio, and hubby and I practiced on the golf driving range today.
I'm back to my "job" of online play dates, which were cancelled last week. Also, we have family Zoom tonight, so I'm eager to see them all. I'm planning on refocusing after Easter Sunday as far as diet and exercise. Maybe we could all set some goals, and break them down into small, daily goals. That's the only way I can do it . . baby steps.
Sorry to ramble on . .

Sheesh - I'll See your 1 and raise you 1! WRONG DIRECTION - I KNOW! I dunno. I have no words. Lots of coffees this week. This week has been beyond insane for me work and life. I'm exhausted to put it mildly - still no positive or good explanation.
Anyhow ok..so Sheesh - I was exhausted reading your recap! Sounds wonderful and exhausting all at once and congratulations VANESSSA!! Sorry for mixing them up...but way belated congrats to Natalie..hahahaha.
OMG She looks GORGEOUS! What an absolutely beautiful dress!! Can't wait to see more pictures. Such a happy and beautiful smile.
OK. Swamped still and need to get back to the computer and reports.0 -

Once again, sorry to be late. Work has been exhausting and some days it has been all I can do to work, eat, log my food, get in some steps and fall into bed. Wednesday, which should have been my day off, was filled with another 3 hour trip for vaccine #2, plus some unpaid work, and dealing with some personal business. But talk about exhausting. Oh my gosh, Sheesh, I agree with Lois. Just reading all that you took on exhausted me. I hope you can take some time now to relax and do something for yourself. And I think I was the one who pulled Natalie rather than Vanessa out of my tiny brain. Both are lovely women, but congratulations to Vanessa. I am so happy that everything went so well and that she enjoyed her special day. It sounds so lovely.
Today is also supposed to be a day off, but I'm going to work part of it because I have a report due today that I just could not get to yesterday. We have a new team member--a scientist from another division--and I'm going to say it--he is disruptive. I hope he settles down, but meetings are running long because he tries to take over. I hate to say it, but he's the only male and I think that's a factor. Plus, this is the fourth COVID task force he has been assigned to, which tells me that things didn't go so well for him on #1-3. Arghhh. But he's rotating off July 1.
I did weigh, by the way, on Wednesday morning, and so that's my weigh-in day stat. But I have to tell you that I've seen higher numbers during the week, so I know that I have to keep working or I'll just edge right up. It happened before and so quickly. Have to remember that.
I looked at the weather map this morning and saw that all of you are having warm temps. Even Kelly up in Winnipeg.Enjoy it, ladies. It was 28 degrees when I got up at 7:30!! So it's a mall or treadmill day. The pollen is also miserable here. I'm sure you've heard that that the unseasonably warm days we had a couple of weeks ago pushed the blooming season early. The cherry blossoms downtown are at peak.
I'm all for those small goals, Sheesh. I need you all to make me stay accountable.
I'll try to be back before the weekend is over. Have a good one, everyone.0 -
Hi, everyone. I'm including posting here among the things I'm doing today to try to shake a bad mood. Nothing is wrong, I'm just feeling cranky and negative for some reason.
Yesterday was a good day for me. I had a long to-do list and got more than two-thirds of it accomplished.I also got in more than 12K steps.
One not so good thing about yesterday was that hubby was not feeling good again. This time it was a headache of the migraine sort because he was light sensitive. This is something new. He has never had migraines. Long and short of it, every day it's something, and it is beginning to wear on me.
Poor hubby realized this morning that my mood was low and he suggested a drive to just get out of the house. But honestly since we still don't want to be inside public places and it's still too cold and windy to do much outside, I told him that I didn't think an aimless drive would do much to perk me up and that it's okay if I'm not in a upbeat mood all the time.
So he decided to tackle a few things in the garage and I decided to finally go through suits and dress clothing that I've saved for far too long to decided what to give away and what to simply send to textile recycling. I also hope that I might find a piece of jewelry that hubby had made for me and that I cannot locate. I don't wear it very often, so I can't really remember the last time I had it on. Last time I saw it, it was in a small satin drawstring bag in my nightstand drawer, but neither the bag or the jewelry is there now.
So tackling closets is what I've been doing for the past couple of hours, but now I'm feeling guilty about not getting in more activity. Until I can shake this mood, I think nothing is going to make me feel good. And a few minutes ago, I went downstairs to ask hubby if I could dispose of some of his Halloween costumes and I found him lying down again because he "just doesn't have any energy." I have insisted that he log all these symptoms and talk to the doc soon. That is why we are paying that big concierge fee--so we can get to our docs quickly and get more of their time.
Anyway, I just grabbed some iced coffee and sat down at my desk a moment to just dump on you ladies and log my lunch. I hope that just saying, "I'm in a rotten mood," will help.

Hoping everyone had a very Happy Easter. We were pretty low key. I did make a pork butt for pulled pork sandwiches, ordered coleslaw, potato salad and mac salad. I attempted some doctored baked beans like my DIL mom makes, they were good but not quite what she makes. We had Rhea and her parents for few hours in the afternoon, on their way back home from visiting DIL parents. The Easter bunny got Rhea a Raya & the Last Dragon tshirt, a lamb and a chocolate bunny. She spotted the tshirt rolled in her basket and that's all she wanted. She made mommy take off her current Minnie Mouse top to wear her Raya top. She was too cute. I also had ordered a Sisu the dragon and tuk tuk the armadillo stuffed toys from Disney but was going to save them for another visit (along with still more things - hey larger discount on a larger order and free shipping). Well as I was making her grilled cheese sandwich, Gpa got out the other two toys - we couldn't wait to give them to her. She loved them...I really wish I could post on FB. I did go a bit overboard on the candy as I bought some for a sales meeting last week and failed to take it. I'm hoping I feel well enough this week after my shot tomorrow to take most of it to one of the offices.
Sarah - sorry things are still stressful for you. I was hoping the part time position would alleviate some of the stress you had been having in the past. Hoping hubby's energy level is figured out as well. Have you check for low bp?
So I just got off the phone with a co-worker and I'm probably going to be offered the option to work from home on a more permanent basis. I"m not sure that's what I want. I mean, not driving in has been a blessing, but I was hoping that after my 2nd injection I could make it into the office 2-3 days a week to get out of the house a little bit. Hubby's teasing me that I need to go out and do the grocery shopping and Costco if I am looking at ways to get out. HA! I rather enjoy the delivery service on those items.
Small goal - big goal this week - STAY AWAY FROM THE BOWL OF CANDY!0
