3 yeses today, a good day. I was back at the gym for 2 hours, a good workout and it felt good.

Pass #1
Unfortunately, when I woke up today my hand/wrist was swollen from last night's fall. I also slept poorly because of the pain which is why I couldn't motivate myself to do the treadmill today. I iced it for a couple of hours, took an Aleve and spent most of the afternoon/evening in bed reading. I think it helped as it isn't hurting so much at the moment. I'll continue to baby it so as not to impact my vacation next week.

3 YES Day. It was a slow walk. But I’m counting it because it was deliberate and honestly was as good as I could muster given a long work day and feeling emotionally down. Tomorrow will be a better day.10

@LazyBlondeChef should the doctor be examining it?

Normally, I would have just not tracked the binge, and taken a pass, but taking decisions based on an informed position is better. Sooooooo This is an experiment for me and we'll see if it is a positive experience. Ultimately, what is right is what promotes my healthiest actions. I'll continue to report in and we'll see what happens.
So current standing on May's passes is the following:
Pass day: 3
No-pass day: 6
Pass pending: 1 (-1350 on May 10th)
I hope the experiment works... LOL. Be careful of over restricting to try to "make it up" too quickly tho. Have you set a specific time period for the recovery? My advice is take the rest of the month if you can. In my silly world if I try to recover too fast it just leads to more bad days than good.5 -

Yday was a yes x's 3 day - with me getting my official 22 minutes of exercise in at 11:00 pm...but I GOT IT DONE, LOL.
Experimenting with whether or not I can allow ice pops to be in the freezer... I think I'll put a serving for each person in there - labeled... and will keep the rest unfrozen in the pantry. Next week...put in a new batch. If self control is in place for all in the household..ok... But if not, then they will go the way of the trash and recycling bin.
I hope you all have a good day... saying a prayer for each of us!8 -

@donna25trinity @summerskier Yes, indeed we'll see how it goes. I actually tacked on some additional damage later last night. argh. Summer, yes, I totally agree to tight a restriction could cause rebound. This is totally an experiment, and at worst I take pass #4. Should never have bought that ice cream. It was not as good as I imagined.4

@dsgoingtodoit We have mini-sized sugar-free ice pops as our summer staple. And, I happen to be eating another one as I write this late entry...

@Smoda61 I'm not one to to see a doctor unless it's dire. And actually the pain is gone today unless I bend it in past a certain point. The swelling has also lessened so that's a relief.
Maybe next time buy one of those tiny pint size ice creams of high quality. My partner loves ice cream so we get it maybe once a month. These days he's pretty good about eating the specified serving size but in the past he would have eaten the entire pint in 1-2 sittings. Personally I find most ice cream to sweet and too thick so rarely eat it. Prefer sorbet.3 -
@lazyblondchef So glad you are seeing an improvement with your knee. That is great news!
On the ice cream, there definitely is a difference in quality between products. To be honest, that ice cream did not live up to its name or image on packaging. My favorite ice cream is a limited edition and thankfully does not seem exist anymore. It was around last summer while I was gaining weight. :P It was called "Chip Happens" - chocolate ice cream with fudge chips and a crunchy potato chip swirl.1 -
@LazyBlondeChef That swelling may indicate the need for an x-ray.0

@MadisonMolly2017 Yesterday, I read a review of a book by a pediatric endocrinologist who decries the twin evils of Big Pharma and overly processed food (with unhealthy doses of salt and sugar). It is called "Metabolical"
I ordered it on my Kindle.

Oooh ice cream. Mint chocolate chip. I can’t keep ice cream in the house because once I start..... So to satisfy the desire, I do treat myself to a DQ Blizzard or ice cream cone once in awhile. I get a small portion, eat slow, and feel satisfied.
At work today, a coworker was telling me about a relative who lost 60 pounds in a few months on one of those shake diets. I found myself feeling sorry for her, knowing that it’s inevitable she’ll put that weight back on. I of course didn’t say that, but I’ve become such a believer that while fast is glamorous, slow is sustainable. I’ll take slow.7 -
