Argh. I thought there would be reduction for sure. I've been logging food, but probably aren't low enough in calories. I get so hungry, especially when I work out, so I need to find foods that are very filling and low in calories . . . big salads I guess. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I might make more of those.
Kelly, I'm so happy Ella was negative! I agree with Lois that a retest might be a good idea, and maybe a strep test and blood test. My daughter got mononucleosis that made her so tired and have a sore throat a few years back. It took her a long time to get over it. We tend to forget that there are still other viruses out there. Sorry you're experiencing more lock downs. I saw a story on Canada's vaccine roll out, and it looks to be improving. Fingers crossed for you.
Even though Oregon is also still experiencing lock downs, hubby and I booked a trip to see them and our Cali family in June. We're going to fly . . hope there aren't variants circulating. My sister traveled on a plane and caught a cold she thinks from the plane. She's vaccinated, so I don't think she's going to get a Covid test. A health professional friend told me there's a theory that we might catch a lot of other viruses after masks for a year. Geez. . seem we can't win.
Lois, my OR daughter is completely better today. She and her hubby are taking a weekend at a fun hotel near them, while their girls stay with the family/friends they quarantined with. They have birthdays in May, so they want to get away and celebrate. I pray they can do it and stay safe.
Sarah, I hope your job hasn't swallowed up your time . . I look forward to your post. I think you were planning a trip to see your sister. Check in when you can.
Today I have 2 grands online play dates, and then Family Zoom tonight. So, I'd better get my butt on the TM.

Well yesterday I was 163 and this morning was 164.4, but that's 100% because I had pizza last night and retained salt. I was super thirsty all night after supper. Not worrying at all, as I'm chugging water today to flush it out.
I haven't been super strict at tracking, but my mindset has definitely changed and I'm eating less and being way more mindful with my food intake.
Just wanted to post my weigh in quickly. I'll post more tomorrow. Busy at work today.0 -
Howdy!
Well I was back down to 163.8 this morning, so that's something. Keep paying attention to what I'm eating and how much... keep on truckin. lol
Ella is pretty much back to normal now. She has a slight cough as she says her throat feels 'dusty' sometimes, but that likely could be allergies. So glad it was nothing worse.
Can't remember if I mentioned the kids are back to remote learning at home as of Wednesday this weekThey aren't very happy about it but are understanding of the situation. I just feel so bad that they're at the ages where friends are the most important thing to them and they can't even see them. Hopefully this only lasts a few weeks. So far the remote learning is way better than last year when they did it. They're having meetings on Teams and the teacher is actually teaching, so that's a plus. When I'm working at home, I just don't have time to be a parent, a teacher and a good employee. It helps that they're older now too, 13 & 11. I can't imagine what it's like for parents who work at home and have little ones to manage.
Shawn and I get our 2st vaccine doses tomorrow morning. Hoping for no side affects. It sounds like ages 12+ were made eligible for it today too, so I'm sure we'll get Tyler his shot too. Ella won't be 12 until December, so she'll have to wait it out.
I hope everyone is doing well. The weather here has been beautiful this past week, but we are in some dire need of rain. Some of the towns around us are experiencing water shortages already, which is scary. Can't imagine what forest fire season will be like this year.

The past couple of weeks I thought I was going to be pushing back upwards...held at the 233 and now I'm trending back. Life has been stressful, just life. Not one particular item, just frustrating. Kelly - I'm not sure I fit in the term you had posted previously, languish I think it was. Anyhow, the past few weeks I've been very short tempered and internally frustrated. Before we found out hubby has all he needs for his testing in July, we were supposed to head to Vegas this weekend, so I had put in to be off yesterday and today. After losing control with a couple of employees who continually want to "short cut" processes, I blew and was super frustrated at having to explain again why we shouldn't. Believe me, if we didn't have to to all of the steps, I WOULD LOVE IT! But doing it short now will hurt some other team member down the line when all info isn't where it should be. Anyhow - I still took the days off and I turned off my phone for most of Thursday. I was home with hubby and mom, and I told my son I would have it off so text Dad if he needed me. So yesterday I got the battery for mom's car, got just a couple of errands completed. This morning I got most of the weekend laundry done, floors cleaned, mom's car started (ok so it wouldn't start after the new battery so I had it towed to the dealer - turns out the key my daughter and SIL had made a couple of years ago no longer works to start the car - only the master does right now - so we're back to one key (that's all Mom has ever had she says... at least it starts). I'll work on another key another time.
That car is mainly used by daughter when she visits...it's small compared to my SUV. Today I got my taxes done and filed...ordered hubby a new computer...I was trying to wait for the new computer to do the taxes but it hasn't arrived. We returned a couple of others he didn't like something about them. And the current home computer is slooooow as molasses because hubby has all sorts of stuff running in the background. Anyhow, I just called in and I DO NOT have jury duty next week - WOOT WOOT. It was a downtown location and I DESPISE driving down there. So YAY for me. I'll be back to just work next week.
Kelly - so glad to hear Ella is feeling better. Hoping you're able to get Tyler his shot as well. I sent a note to Cameron's mom and I'm hopeful she'll get him vaccinated as well. Hoping your provinces loosen up after more people get the vaccine. Good luck to you and Shawn and I'm hoping no side effects for either of you. And glad your numbers came back down today. With school...kids are resilient, they will overcome...and school is almost out right? I also don't know how the parents of younger ones who can't be in school/daycare function. Fortunately, that didn't last too long here in AZ.
Sheesh - excited for you and your trip to OR. And for your daughter's weekend get away. We're still waiting for my son and DIL to do their thing so we can have Rhea for an overnight. Her mom had her 3rd chemo treatment yesterday so they will head up there next weekend I'm sure.
Yesterday was MIL bday. We took her to breakfast at this yummy place. She has leftovers for days (we all had it again this morning - their serving sizes are massive but we all don't want the same thing). I gave her my hat that she kept wearing - so now it's hers it won't frustrate me anymore (I have a new one). And for dinner we ordered ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery. Again, we will have a little each day - it's so rich I can't have too much at one time. We'll do a dinner this weekend and I'm hoping my son and DIL will be able to be here...she was sad they didn't come up...but they are an hour+ away on a weeknight.
Sarah - I think you're visiting your sister so I'm hoping you have a great trip!
Have a great weekend!0 -
Lois, I hope your MIL had a good birthday . . what number was it for her? And I love Cold Stone Creamery. Sounds like fun. I can relate to feeling short-tempered at times, especially when you have an elder you're caring for. I hope you can carve out some time for self care . .
Kelly, I hope you're feeling okay since the second vaccine. If you feel bad, just remember it means your immune system is working. Hopefully things will turn around with more vaccinations going into arms in Canada, and your kids will be back to in person school soon. Friends are so important.
Sarah, I've been thinking about you a lot lately with the new guidelines that came out. I hope it doesn't lead toeven more work for you. I think you're at your sister's, so safe travels.
I had a bad day yesterday because I felt like crap. I still did a trainer workout (I told her to go easy and she did) and still played 9 holes with hubby as I had promised to do, and we had a tee time at a course I've never played. Headache, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision. I wondered it it was a migraine, but it didn't really feel exactly like that. Sure enough, I checked my blood pressure, and it was WAY LOW. This happens to me when I'm doing good with my diet and exercise, ironically. I've been logging food strictly, getting a pretty good deficit, and exercised and closed all my "Apple Watch rings" every day last week. What I did wrong was continuing to take my BP medication at the same dose. It's hard to anticipate, and I don't want to risk high BP because of the history of strokes, heart attacks, and high BP in my family. Last night I cut my small dose even smaller, and I feel so much better today. I'm hoping I might be able to go off it if I continue with being "good", lol.
Hope you're all having a good week.

Yikes Sheesh, that doesn't sound good! I sure hope things normalize for you with your blood pressure and you get back to feeling like yourself. Amazing that you still did your workout and went golfing. You go girl!
It was just our first dose of the vaccine and everything went well. The people running it were so professional and pleasant, and it was run so smoothly. Both the hubby and I only had a sore arm the day after, but nothing crazy. Just felt like a tender muscle at the site. I hear that the 2nd dose is where most people have crazy side affects, so we'll see. Our province hasn't started booking 2nd doses yet for everyone, as not everyone has had the opportunity to get their first. Our son has his appointment for his 1st dose on June 8, which we're happy about. Our daughter won't be able to get one until 2022. The restrictions here could possibly get worse if we don't see our numbers get lower by this weekend. They're "threatening" a stay at home order.I guess if that's what it's going to take for people to start listening, then have atter.
Lois, sorry to hear things suck lately. Man, I think we've all gone through the languishing stages. Doesn't it seem like if it's not one thing, it's another. At least that's how they say it goes and it definitely happens to me that way. I hope things improve for you0
