Hyperparathyroidism and Partial Thyroidectomy

Has anyone in this group dealt with hyperparathyroidism? I had 2 1/2 parathyroid removed in 2017 but they weren't able to find the 4th one (so they left a half one). I've been dealing with persistent hypercalcemia. My doc recently found a thyroid nodule that they suspect encapsulates the 4th para so now they want to take out the right lobe of my thyroid. The thought of removing part of my thyroid really scares me. I'd love to hear about your experience.
