Well, that's definitely not the way I wanted this weigh-in to go! I had a busy week at work, but I did get a few good walks in (14,000 steps on Weds, 13,575 steps yesterday). I wasn't very good with my water intake, so my goals for the week ahead are:
1) 30 minute walk every day - if I know I'm going to be too lazy after work, I'll do it in the morning before work.
2) Drink 3 of my water bottles of water every day (that's 9 cups)
3) Stop working when the work day is over! Just because my computer / office is currently in my living room, doesn't mean I need to be working all the time!
Hope you all had a great weekend, and have an awesome week ahead!

Much better this week, I'm glad ! However, I failed miserable on the "No alcohol week". The lesson that I've learned is that I find it very difficult to say no when the weather is fine and the company (friends that I hadn't seen for 9 months) even finer.2 -

~~ June Week Two ~~
Hey folks, welcome to our second week of June. I was going to write this post yesterday, but I spent most of my Monday recovering from a major sunburn and was so distracted I didn't even dare crunch numbers for fear of doing it incorrectly and needing to issue an even longer post of corrections.
I volunteered at a Food Truck Mac n' Cheese event on Sunday, and forgot to apply sunscreen to my arms as often as I covered my face. Whoops. A ton of aloe and water later, I'm not nearly as crimson, and definitely not in as much stinging pain. And now, I have several pictures as proof of my showdown with the Sun to show people what I've been through.
Also, I weigh myself every morning, and I've noticed a few small numerical changes, but nothing major, and that's been disheartening. But yesterday, I put on a pair of shorts that I used to wear before I went to France in 2019 (my weight was 10-15 lbs less than it is now), and they were loose. Almost needing a belt loose. So maybe I'm not getting lighter as quickly as I'd like, but recomposition is absolutely valid, if not more valid, when compared to the number on the scale. I'll be doing another body scan in the next week or so, and I'm curious how things will look compared to my previous composition percentages.~ They Would Walk 500 Miles ~
Our team of nine strong steppers covered a major 603,029 steps over the first week of June. Per person, this is just over 67,000 steps on average. We haven't been over 600k in quite a while, so I'm already excited, and I haven't even looked at the individual numbers yet!
Over 10,000 per day:
@annliz23 - 88,870 total | 12,696 average - Most Consistent!
@IDebraK - 84,072 total | 12,010 average - Highest Steps in One Day!
@sandielewis2001 - 80,350 total | 11,479 average
@kandi3570 - 75,676 total | 10,811 average
Over 5,000 per day:
@ljdanny - 68,258 total | 9,751 average
@lennoncpa - 63,701 total | 9,100 average
@dbrinkmeyer - 58,850 total | 8,407 average
@melaniedscott - 46,477 total | 6,640 average
@pacsnc6 - 36,775 total | 5,254 average
The human body was built to walk, and every one of you is living proof. Every step you take on your journey is another step towards the person you can be, and another step away from who you once were. I love watching your progress, even if it's just a number in a spreadsheet.7 -
@minstrelofsarcasm I know how good that feels to put on old clothes and they almost fall off!
Congrats on that. Can hardly wait to hear results of the body scan5 -
This week my work team is doing a virtual move around challenge for team engagement. We were each challenged to document our plan for the week. After sending my plan to the team my (very fit) co-manager called me:
"You gotta be kidding me with this. If you actually accomplish that activity you are a beast."
It felt great to recognize the change from being one of the least active team members to one of the most active.
M-F - 4+mile walk at 3.0mph pace
daily - 15 min spin bike
daily - 30 min strength training
honorable mention: all of the dancing I do while working at my standing desk at home6 -
@minstrelofsarcasm : what a good feeling, old shorts falling off
Congrats!

I called my health insurance company and they said I can see a dr for my weight. I called the dr but they make you do a group zoom meeting as a consultant to decide if this is for you. After that they will call and book your appointment. The only thing the zoom isn't until july 6 so now I have to wait a month for that and who knows how long before an appointment. I was a little bummed. They only do zoom once a month. In the meantime I still have some tests to find out what's wrong with my stomach.4
