3️⃣ remaining pass days (conditionally ie weekly plan)
Working weekly calories down from anniversary the rest of this week.
I give it a 50/50 shot with the high temps, but I’m giving it my best shot.
Good news: feeling very strong & rapidly building up steps to increase my yearly average!

@Chinkiri an early happy birthday to you 💗💗💗. Was this year more productive, health wise, than last year? Not having a sweet tooth can be verybeneficial, it's my biggest weakness 🤭.
@Winner_in_Life the cycle of doom is so true!! We should love our exercises more 💪💜
@donna25trinity our month progress is kinda similar, I also have 2/3 pass days, lets keep this one day to the last day of the month 💪💜💛💪4 -
@ashleycarole86 you made a great point there! Every single day was a food celebration!! I'm happy I'm no longer in that stage 😁 I wish none of us here will go back , or turn to, those days🙏
@Winner_in_Life according to the picture, you're really close to reaching your goal!! Good luck 🤞🤞
@Chinkiri CHEERS 👏👏👏🎉🎉 to almost an hour of walking, it's been so long since my last cheers ☺️3 -
@SummerSkier 😂 I know 😂😂 not even a minor celebration doesn't have at least a cake!! It's hard to even imagine.
@lesdarts180 you're probably on spot with calories, or a little under. That's what I believe after reading your posts before 🤗.
@WhatMeRunning great efforts so far this month 💪💪💪 and may you have an even better days for the rest of the month. In some days, I completely understand the so "no interest" in food, I would set with my family and they would pass around chips, chocolate, cake and ice cream, yeah all of that, and not to mention dinner, but I won't care even with their continues invitations to eat. On the other hands, some other days, I just feel huge temptations to eat, and most of the times I lose to such temptations. I'm still figuring out what best for me and how to conquer my craving.4 -
@stella7x7 that's a good idea, I will keep that in mind when I start my maintenance. Thanks for sharing 😊
@mshawski I'm also curious to know the results please share it if possible!! I use Excel too, I have many records on Excel and on writing, because I want to know me more 😊
@clutterqueen I'm with you on this. I used to think that one day will destroy everything! That's so far from the truth. What I'll say is actually more related to losing weight than maintenance, that's a foreign land to me still, as long as we have double or triple more good days than bad, or pass, days then we are good.
@GrandmaJackie awesome determination you have there 👏👏. When I could, I do something similar, I keep most of my calories when I'm planning to have a feast, this way I could control myself better. But I read some posts on UAC, moths before, that some eats beforehand or bring food they could eat and only eat it, I guess that depends on the type of celebration we are encountering.2 -
@snowshoe072 I hope you get better soon 😟, and good idea on exercising more. This way we will track the bad days in order to burned it off, I'll keep that in mind, thanks for sharing.
@TerriRichardson112 saving up calories! I'm going to write down all the gread ideas I have learned todays, this one too for sure. Thanks for sharing.
@RangerRickL I'm learning so much on Friday's posts. Thanks @JennyRebecca1978 for the great topic 💜💜2 -
@RangerRickL I hope the renovation and repairs are finally done, we are doing some too, I think we have around 2 weeks more of repairs. Good luck with the strength training 💪😊.
@MaltedTea I do the same thing when I knew beforehand, I only dring one cup of coffee and that's it.
@alligatorob hope you have a wonderful vacation. It's so inspiring that you keeping up in vacation 🤩.2 -
@JTreasures great work, so far, almost third of the month is over, days goes fast, let's make most of them good days 💪💪
@_JeffreyD_ I hope you had a great night, we alway have the next day 💜💜
@MadisonMolly2017 I loved your tracker, thanks for replying before, I'm planning to draw one for August, I really liked the idea.

@ashleycarole86 you had a sport day 🤩🤩 you did great 💛💛
@seilidhe being here and sharing with us, is great too. I know how heavy it feels when you've already passed the third day, but continuing on will help in pushing you back to track. Also, it help in controlling your appetite much more than doing it alone. So thank you for sticking with us and I hope to see you posting every day on july despite is it a good day or a pass day. 🤗🤗
@LazyBlondeChef you're on fire 🔥🔥 streak day number 9, I hope you've a perfect month 🤩2 -
July 9
Yest to all questions.
Pass days 2/3.
As I have mentioned before, great topic, I'll keep all the information written in my diet note. I have three choices when it comes to celebrations:
- eat nothing
- save up the day's calories for the feast
- lose control
It pretty much depends on my mood and determination. But I no longer get angry of myself for over eating, I just feel slight of guilt, when I know I overdid it.
Goodnight / good morning to you all 💛💜3 -
I live in a foodie country, France, but the French don't celebrate with particularly calorific food, nor do they eat giant portions. I do go to nice French restaurants regularly though and next week, for my birthday, I'll go to the restaurant round the corner for lunch, fabulous food. I'll have the fish or vegetable dishes, fewer calories and I'm not a big carnivore anyway, and I'll stop eating when I've had enough - I can do that now! My downfall is the wine: I think I can just have the one glass of wine, but I usually end up having more. I order by the glass now, I know that if I order a bottle to share, between two, I'll drink most of that. I'm also lucky in that I am not into desserts, so I just have a coffee to finish my meal. I can be tempted by a good creme brulee though! I limit the bread intake to one or two small bits, another one if I have to mop up delicious sauce. Oh, and I have a very small breakfast and after lunch out I don't need to eat much dinner ...
Next week is 14 juillet, French National day, celebrating the French Revolution, not a food celebration...
The only time I declare a Pass Day is Christmas dinner in UK with my kids. My oldest son is a Michelin star chef and his brother is pretty good too. We usually have turkey, duck or goose with all the trimmings.
I am aware that European food culture is very different from USA ...
Sounds wonderful! And congratulations on your son's Michelin star. What a huge achievement!3 -
Grrr. Hit the wrong key again. Short version 3rd pass, 4th sugar, did exercise4

Celebrations: I've actually done okay during the last few years or so on these. Part of it is because Christmas is done by the 3 of us siblings providing the potluck and I always bring some low calorie/low fat choices in my contributions and tbh my sister and sister-in-law have some healthy choices in what they bring also. I have found that I need to eat normally throughout the day and not plan to feast myself at the feast (used to do that). I also stay away from the cheese tray - which traditionally was my love & my weakness. When I'm hosting the event, I insist that all items the guests bring goes home with them. Therefore I am left with only the items I made and I know the calorie/fat content of them. Plus I don't want to eat other's leftovers just to avoid throwing them out - that guilt is sent home with the guests lol. I actually had to get quite firm with my husband's sister on this at our 2019 Labour Day party, but I won. She kept insisting the 2 of them couldn't eat her pasta and potato salad and well, there is only 2 of us at my home too. Ofc hubby piped up and wanted some (he eats like a bird). So I just took a couple of little containers that could fit in his lunch bag for a couple days and sent the rest home with her. I have guilt issues with wasting food due to my Mom growing up war-time in Holland. She truly believes wasting food is a sin. So no guilt for me anymore - you bring it, you take it home, so freeing!
Yes x 3 for me today.6 -
@WhatMeRunning - I really appreciate your honesty and am inspired by your focus! You’re right that ketosis isn’t for everyone, but clearly it is working for you! I’m really inspired by your post.
@mshawski - love your plan and determination. You are a rock star!
@Chinkiri - wow - I love how the French approach food (not that I’ve been there, yet). From what I’ve read/seen/heard, seems like the attitude is “eat really good food in reasonable portions.” And your post supports that. I am amazed about your son being a Michelin star chef. Wow.
@JennyRebecca1978 - your timing on today’s post is remarkable. My brother and girlfriend are visiting for a couple days. We haven’t seen each other in over 2 years. My husband does all the cooking and is pulling out all the stops! In addition, my brother has been on a 7,000 mile cross country road trip and brought me a 12 pack of Moose Drool beer which is a sweet memory of when the two of us visited Yellowstone together 10 years ago. His wife had recently passed, and I was in the midst of my divorce. At any rate, even though the quantity of food I’m eating isn’t bad, it’s really high in calories and I’ve not gone for so much as a walk. So this happened:
Which I share not to shame myself, but to be transparent.5 -
@Jana_2020 I know exactly what you mean. My Mum lived in Amsterdam during the Hunger Winter of '44, survived on tulip bulbs and weighed 40 kg at the end of the war. I was born in 1951 but was never able to waste even a few potato crumbs ..
@biketheworld I am hugely proud of my son! The other one is a computer programmer who literally earns three times as much as his big brother, but the one I am most proud of is the guy who spends all his hours on his feet, producing the most amazing food ...

One tip I want to share though is this is the type of stuff I do for entertaining. Each year I google low fat/low calorie appetizers. One Christmas the big hits were roasted asparagus wrapped in a bit of prosciutto and "Holiday Balls". I made a lower fat cheese ball but I rolled it into "holiday balls": very small individual balls which I then rolled a third of them each in 3 different toppings: chopped nuts, chopped parsley, and chopped dried cranberries. Displayed them in a tree shaped serving dish served along with a charcuterie board. This way I still enjoyed my favourite holiday treat (again, huge cheese lover) but I knew the calorie content of each type of ball and only ate 2 of each. Every one loved them too and asked for the recipes. There are lots of fun ways to break from the traditional holiday foods. Because I now shake it up all the time, apparently I'm the fan favourite for hosting Christmas. (A surprise for me bc my sister is by far the best cook of the 3 of us.) Anyway, just thought I would share.6
-
@Jana_2020 Please remind us roundabout Christmas time! I know the asparagus thingie, but the holiday balls is new to me, sounds great! I am also a cheese lover!2

I treat the big holidays as a pass day, but I don't treat it as an unlimited day as I have in the past. I don't think holidays are an issue for me, but rather the little dinner out celebrations. They add up. I'm trying to order healthier foods out (that I'll still enjoy) and keeping an eye on the portions that I'm eating.

@Jana_2020 My Mum, almost 99, still tells stories about cycling to farmers on bikes with wooden bike wheels, for a bit of food. I have never been able to forget these tales and to this day cannot throw away or waste food... On the positive side, I'm the queen of leftovers and distressed vegetables!4

Wow @thabit!! Thank you for all of your replies on everyone’s posts!!! And thank you for volunteering to be out Friday Cheerleader/PostcReader!!!! 💕
I particularly loved this summary that you compiled!! Very helpful!
I’d add a 4th:
- eat as if it was any other day (if in maintenance) or at a maintenance calorie level if losing.
I purposely have not let myself go nuts with food since I began this journey. I didn’t want to activate my lifelong “Eating with abandon” habit. I think this is really important for me.
Even on our anniversary, I ate three meals & a snack. Hiked a ton. Stomach was never uncomfortable.
Thanks again! Beautiful job!

but you showed up~!! and posted. To me that is about 80% of the win. None of us are perfect and accepting that but not disappearing is reason to celebrate!4 -
10th ended up a "no". I was wondering if Noah should have been trying to build another ark. Tried heading out more than once, but too gross. I then decided to try the condo "gym" (ie random pieces of equipment). Tried two treadmills, an eliptical, and two bike. All plugged in but none turned on. Have since been told power of due to upcoming renovation. I did accumulate 36 flights of stairs, but still not the 20 minutes needed. So another pass. Funny thing is, weight was lower this AM (the 11th).5
