All pass days used. What am I even doing here?? I can't seem to stay focused!!
You're in the right place. Creating new habits is difficult. Which area are you struggling with? Or is it everything? I suggest choosing either exercise or logging to focus on for this week. Without logging it's hard to know if your calories are over. As you create one habit add another one. Sometimes it's easier that way.
Creating consistent exercise has always been my biggest problem because at heart I'm a low energy (read lazy) person. The thing is I am always in a much happier mood when I exercise and I think it's finally become an ingrained habit. I just checked my Apple Fitness app and the last day I didn't get at least 30 minutes of exercise was 10May. I think that might be a record for me ... at least since I was kid.8 -

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Great day! We are off to bed exhausted with our hearts full from the memories of today.
Wow great work @ashleycarole86! I’m curious what the name is of the new National Park in Alberta!!!July 5

@MizSpiffy… I hear you. The secret is to separate the lack of pass days from embarrassment or shame (which I’ve had to do the past month.) Was it comfortable to see everyone else doing so well? No
In fact did I not even notice that I wasn’t the only one struggling?
EVERY TIME WE STRUGGLE, we FIGURE OUT another important piece of our WEIGHT LOSS & MAINTENANCE JOuRNEY (you use all of the things you’re figuring out during your weight loss or maintenance to BE SUCCESSFUL until the next hiccup which you catch EARLIER & resolve more QUiCKLY.
The number one thing that makes folks “regain it all back” is the embarrassment shame sense of failure that leads to giving up & bam all the weight is back. Only making those feelings WORSE.
So why are you here?
To realize we all are dealing with the same thing
BTW July IS one the hardest months with the holiday at the Beginning combined with extreme heat. The hardest one for me, historically.
To keep figuring our ways to handle the hiccups.
What is one small habit you can practice the next 3 days. What reward - activity, experience, or thing can you do to compensate yourself for the uncomfortable-ness of beginning the new habit.
100’s of baby habits = long lasting success

@MizSpiffy In March I had 15, in April 20 and in May 24 pass days (ironically because I tried to restrict myself too much). After a certain threshold, reminding myself of the number of pass days made me focus on the past. Counting the number of days I was successfully within budget instead helped me look forward. If tracking perfectly feels overwhelming, you could consider tracking the high calorie items only and being more flexible with vegetables and fruit. Hope this helps!4

@MizSpiffy if you feel comfortable enough to share a little about where you seem to be having the most trouble, perhaps we could help you in a more specific way. Looking back (for me), there were times that I believe that I had my calorie goal set too low.1 -

@MizSpiffy We are here for you! Why would you want to leave? The welcome mat is always here for you.

@MizSpiffy you are not alone with having used up all your pass days already. But, and this is something I have to remind myself often, we may not be "beating" the challenge but we are meeting the challenge because every time we check in, we are aware of what we have or haven't done. And being aware is the start of making a change. So, you and I, we take our cha-cha steps but we still move forward towards our goals. You've got this. And one step at a time, you'll reach your goals.3

A pass day for me - last day of daughter being home; feeling her stress. Come to think of it, 3 pass days in the last 10 days have been bc of her stress lol. Methinks I may have to work on this.. But she is back to Uni on Tuesday and my house will be once again restored to calm and order lol.5

@Jana_2020 it's difficult to watch our children go through stressful times.... even our grown children! It can definitely take a toll on us! {{{HUGS}}}2

@donna25trinity, @biketheworld, @Mrs_Hoffer - thanks for thinking of me! ❤️ I took a little mental health break because I was losing steam, which ended up being a good lesson in the fact that my habits aren’t solid enough for maintenance yet so it’s a good thing I still have more pounds to lose so I can solidify them (plus an extra 3-5 I obtained in the process of learning that.) I wasn’t going to join July because I figured I already can’t be in the winners circle, given I just got back to it today, but your posts reminded me this group is about more than the winners circle so here I am ready to creep on all of you… I mean… uh… cheer on your success! Hahahahaha. Also to check in to keep myself on track so the winners circle is a possibility in August. Thanks again for being you. ❤️ I’m excited to get back into it and hope my three weeks of nonsense was enough for my body to respond to appropriate weight loss calorie deficits again! 🤗
Welcome!
You are in the right place!1
