July Week One
Weigh In Day: Thursdays (Moving to Wednesdays)
PW (Previous Weight): 167.0 (June 24th)
CW (Current Weight): 166.4 (July 1st)
LTD (Loss to Date): 67.6 lbs
I am moving my weigh day to Wednesdays. My weight for this week is actually from... (GASP) yesterday. I've realized that weighing in after my rest day, which typically involves beer and Mexican food, is not the best idea.
Food:
The past weekend was the wedding my parents RSVP'ed me to without telling me. I ate a bunch of dessert, and drank a bunch of alcohol, and continued that behavior through the weekend, eating out most meals and bringing home leftovers with the intent to eat them for lunch the next day, only to consume all of them minutes after arriving home.
Exercise:
I've been pretty consistent with my workout schedule, even while my family was in town. Definitely not feeling as challenged with spin class anymore, which is bittersweet; although I've been considering leaving the spin studio for a while, it's more difficult to think about how rapidly the time for my graduation of sorts is approaching.
Mindset:
Despite the high level of stress I experienced over the weekend, I'm doing pretty well. I feel like I've really developed healthier coping mechanisms than I used to have, even if I still resort to stress eating from time to time. And I think a lot of that is related to having a solid workout routine and taking the time to pay attention to my body rather than just shoveling in food whenever I'm actually thirsty. It's always interesting to recognize all the little things that have affected my life, the little things I've allowed to affect my life, whether it be for good or bad.5 -

Update on my health: Had a scan Monday which showed my liver looks good with no change in the tumor (the doctor thinks it has died in place) and small changes to one or two lymph nodes. Probably side effects of the Keytruda. Doctor wants to do a biopsy if possible and has scheduled a scan in seven weeks to check on it. I had more Keytruda today and scheduled for three weeks from now just before the next scan. Then we will see.
I hope she is right and I can see the end of this journey soon.7 -

That's terrific news!

July weight loss goals: My goal is to get down to 144 pounds by week 5! And to stay in the green for the next four weeks!
I’ve been eating too many calories including too much sweets. I guess you can say I’m off my diet since I’ve been overeating my calories everyday for a couple weeks. Going forward, I’d like to get back on track where I eat less calories than I burn. I want to lose about 15-20 pounds to see how I look and feel at a BMI of 22. That’s my long term goal, a BMI of 22. Six months ago my BMI was 32. I’m currently at a BMI of 25.
One Non-scale victory (NSV) is that my size six pants fit me! Another is that I can walk five miles without getting tired.
I’m hoping this self talk will get me back on track!
What are your July goals and what are your NSV you are most proud of?
Happy Fourth of July weekend in USA.

Hello everyone and all of our new members.
I’ve struggled with my weight since I was in middle school. Ive been ata plateau for 6 months. This weeks weight loss has given me hope that I can finally shed these last 10 pounds. But it may be back next week. My highest weight was 268. I didn’t recognize myself in a picture. I decided to make some changes. I cut all sugar and I stopped baking and lost 45ish pounds. Then I found this group in September of 2020 and I really changed the way I ate and lost another 45 ish by January of 2021. I’ve been right around that weight since then except for a little backslide in March and April. I can accept where I’m at. I really just want to be able to say I’ve lost 100 pounds. Im still working on it. 😁
Im a single mom of a 13 yo girl and thats what started me on this journey. She had a medical diagnosis of pcos. Which I also have. The drs offered birth control or a diet change. I wanted to be a good example and so I started the diet. She’s not having it! Lol and I’m not pushing because it’s her life. I’ll lead by example maybe someday she will follow. But that’s where this started.
I have an active job and that’s where most of my steps come from. I was also going to the gym but couldn’t lose weight as I build muscle pretty quickly. My goals right now are to get down to 160 -165 ish and go back to the gym this fall after sports are over. We’ll see how that goes.
I bought this dress at goodwill, for .25 cents, killing time the other day. I love it. It’s so cute. But here’s a comparison from my heaviest to yesterday.

@kandi3570 You have done awesome, and your 25 cent dress is adorable!
I agree with you about letting your daughter decide for herself because fighting with her about her weight would only make things worse. It is hard to stand back and watch your teenagers learn to take care of themselves.1 -

No change. Grr. It's okay. The universe is making sure I know I'm not doing all the things I need to do to totally commit to this. And I keep making excuses, or saying I'll do more when X is done or I start out the day with good intentions but the phone never stops ringing and it makes me want to bite something...and I do, just m&m's, not celery or OMG I have six projects that need completed RIGHT NOW and not enough time to do it, chips are the answer to the immediate problem, as before, wanting to bite something. And then I eat everything in the evening. I've been over but not drastically and probably high on salt... Anyway, I need to stop this.
Okay. That was word vomit but, hey...5 -

Hello all! Happy 4th of July weekend!❤️🤍💙
I’m Kirsten, I’ve been part of this challenge since it started in July of 2017 I think. I haven’t been very active on here much the last few months, but I still weigh-in every week.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
I’m going to try to be more active with this group. 😊4 -
I think I’ve finally broke my 6 month plateau! I have done nothing different food wise. I am working more overtime lately. 😁 whatever gets me there!!! 😁. 174.4 today. 6 more and I’ve lost 100 total.4

Hi folks! Looks like we have quite a few NWIs this week.
If the following would like to provide an updated weight or be retroactively excused, let us know so we can clear up that pesky NWI tag:

It's a holiday weekend in North America, so I'm sure that's part of the delay. Just, ya know, let us know what's up and what we can do for you. That's all.
I'll send out private messages in a couple days if I haven't heard anything. Would hate to lose any of you to the drop list.2 -

I did really well past week, but blew it yesterday. On top of that, I also woke up yesterday feeling sore in my joints and having a slight dull headache and I think I might have some inflammation somewhere. And while writing those two sentences it dawned on me that I probably overate because I'm feeling off. Here's to getting insights from journaling I know that gain is from inflammation and a lack of hydration. I'll try to be kind to my body this week.5 -

Went for a hike yesterday at Falls Lake, part of the "mountains to sea" trail. Walked about 45 minutes. Nice day for it, not too hot or humid.3

@minstrelofsarcasm I’m sorry for the late weigh in! I went up North and didn’t realize I would have no service
PW 144.4 lbs

I definitely could have eaten better while I was away, I also had some drinks which always cause me to be bloated. This week I’ve already meal prepped and will get back down.5
