We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Friday - whathapnd (Emmie)
Today's Topic: What’s your big picture plan?
Do you have an overall plan or system that you follow? Like counting calories or WW points or intuitive or CORE or whatever they call it? Or that intermittent fasting thing? Overall, what’s you strategy? How’s it working?

WW points - “the Blue plan”. Note that I’ve been through every iteration of WW since Momentum was introduced in 2008, so while Blue is a reissue of something, I couldn’t tell you just what it is.
How is it working? As well as I’m working it. I’m losing at an average of two pounds a month. I’m also not being as rigid or structured as I was when losing at a more rapid pace in the past, so I suspect there a pretty tight link between my compliance and my losses. I feel I should care more about the slower rate of loss, but on the other hand, I can live with how I’m eating and how I’m losing.
Right now I’m engaged in an involuntary experiment. A week ago, I ate almost all my daily, activity and weekly points - and had a larger loss. This most recent week I ended up using every available point without going negative, so I’m curious to see what my weigh-in will bring. I lost weight originally on the “every available point” dining plan, so it would be nice if that still worked. It’s also possible that it only works with tighter compliance on tracking. We'll see.0 -
I track both calories (MFP) and WW SPs (also on Blue) Doing better now, since earlier this year, both complience and weight loss.0

I feel like a rudderless ship. Fortunately because I’m a big creature of habit I’m adrift in reasonably calm waters. But adrift nonetheless. We will be moving in about a month. Going to take the opportunity to get some new routines in place to provide for more fun and exercise. Already scoped out the Pickleball in Ft Myers. Going to get a trailer hitch so I can get one of those bike racks. More activity should lead to less snacking. Well, its a plan.0

So you’re taking the high level, strategic view and focusing on “eat less, move more” - is that what you’re telling us? 😊0 -
I focus on portion control and eating the right things. So, I guess you'd call it a modified CORE. Of course, I have not been doing that very well.0
