Mrs_Hoffer wrote: ยป@donna25trinity you had asked me about my "fast" day on Friday - it was a fasting day for religious reasons. Lol.
Sorry, I guess I should've given more details. A good friend of mine from my church was in a horrible car accident last Wed and has a horrible concussion. Thankfully she walked away with no broken bones or other injuries, other than being pretty banged up - but her concussion is pretty bad. Her short term memory is completely gone right now and she's having trouble even putting sentences together. She's having nightmares every night. I've never seen anything like it before, but I've never known anyone with a concussion either. Several of the ladies in our church had decided to spend Friday praying and fasting for her complete recovery/healing. Doc says it can take several weeks to several months for her short term memory to completely return. If you're a praying person, please say a prayer for my friend Holly. ๐ Thanks.
Someone else had asked me how I can work so hard and exercise while fasting for 24 hours.... I've just learned to pay close attention to my body.... if I'm feeling light headed or dizzy at all, I would, of course, break the fast. But I've done periodic fasts my whole adult life.... I know that not everyone can do that (or should do that!)
Mrs-Hoffer How lovely of u guys to fast for her!Just beautiful!! It must be very hard for u to see her that way. I hve no doubt that she will recover tho esp with all of that love and positivity emanating her way. Yes my faith is stonger than ever, i shall also pray for your dear friend Holly's recovery!! Catching up on posts. @mshawski - omg the story of your son just warmed my heart. It doesnโt get any sweeter than that. And @seilidhe - congrats on the new shoes - how nice of your daughter to do that for you.
Iโm writing this on Monday morning so technically a day late. Weekend event went great. I manage a general aviation airport. We had vintage planes, antique cars, crafters, universities, flight schools, pancake breakfast, food trucks, raffle for an airplane, and rides in a B-25. The pancake breakfast alone had around 1,000 people. I had lots of happy volunteers, all my staff helped, and the only complaint I had was from a very cranky hangar owner who was mad that cars were parked too close to her hangar, so that was an easy fix. We had a beer and pizza party to celebrate at the end of the day. I tracked my food Saturday and counted all my steps as my exercise. But Sunday I didnโt even track not because it was hopeless or I went crazy, just because it would have been complicated and I decided to not worry about it. I slept all night last night for the first time in weeks. So it was definitely a success and now I can retire.
My NSV - on Sunday late afternoon I needed something to eat but just wanted something lite, not a meal. I looked over our snack selections, decided to pass on the chips, cookies, crackers, etc and chose an apple! The apple honestly was more appealing than anything else. And I totally attribute that to my newfound focus on freggies.

NSV: I am effectively eliminating worry, negative self talk, and discomfort with my affirmation.
This is huge.
That is beyond huge. That is part peak of self-actualization so kudos for continuing to climb the mountain (this is a Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs reference but I'll spare you the pyramid pic lol)3 -

Exercise: 30 minute run. Little hair of the dog after yesterday's five miler. I have an out of town guest but I was still diligent and said I HAD to hit the road for 30 minutes.
Tracked:
Calories: I had guests for dinner and made chicken parm and fettuccini, a favorite meal of mine. I didn't touch it nor was I even tempted, as I sat eating a plate of spring mix. I also didn't have a problem forgoing the wine/beer everyone was drinking.
Wowsa! A terrific day all around! Huge KUDOS to you! Again, VERY impressive.1 -
@biketheworld - congratulations on the success of your event and much needed sleep!
NSV - when I am over on calories, I no longer just jump off the ship and eat all the things. When I am over now, it isnโt by much.
Sunday, August 15
Tracking: Yes
Calories: over, but not by too much. Under with exercise calories but only by using more than I am comfortable with.
Exercise: Yes, full body stretch warm up, cycle 45 min, cool down ride, post ride stretch. Now that Iโm feeling better, time to start lifting again. Yay!

@jamcnewman you're doing fantastic!
@readyornot1234 I love you're NSV as well! That's HUGE to have the discipline to not throw in the towel and eat whatever you want because you've gone over your daily goal anyway.... KUDOS!2 -

I have been away for couple of days, I wasn't feeling very well but nothing dangerous. I had no trouble with keeping up with my diet since I had no appetite, I did almost miss on tracking, but managed. I also did very light exercising to cover the 20 minutes. So, despite everything else, I'm still on 0 pass days and continuing the challenge. I wanted to post every day but for some reason or another I kept forgetting, I guess the fever is to blame. I'm much better now and I'll be doing my regular exercises again, thank you @Mrs_Hoffer for your concerns ๐๐๐๐๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ.
Will be posting later today for August 16.7 -
pass day #4 which makes me disqualified, but I will continue to post daily to develop my posting habit
I remember a quote @Mrs_Hoffer posted previously that said "you can't manage properly what you don't measure".
I am starting at the very beginning again. I need to develop the simple habit of tracking more consistently. Over the weekend, I didn't track, which kinda proves my point that I need to get back to the basics.9 -

Like @donna25trinity I am going to say my NSV this month has been keeping some "dangerous" foods in the house and managing to portion them out without going into binge mode or ending up throwing them away. One thing I have found in maintenance is that every once in a while you need to take a step back and remember to savor your food and not just gobble it down. LOL.. Being happy with smaller portions of tasty food and not letting the enjoyment lag because you are not savoring.
Have a great Sunday all!
Keeping fun foods in the house is not easy! Well done 4 resisting temptation!3 -
@znaoiec Increasing your workout goal on your Apple watch in order to challenge yourself again = AWESOME!!
