Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Did you know that August 2021 is the ONLY month of the year that started on a Sunday?
Sunday is often considered the start of the week for many. All week, we've talked about success, perseverance, accountability with tracking and logging as well as goals.
Today is the close of this week so let's end it with another day of positivitea (or positivity 😉).
What does being positive look like for you today?5 -
Today, Positivity looks like my default position. 😂2
-
Positivity to me these days mean wen things annoy/upset me i hve 2 roads which i cld take.....1: brush it off or 2: let it get to me. I choose to take road number 1 which keeps me happy, healthy, calm & stress free! Xox
7th Aug xox
Yes yes yes. 40 min walk and chasing after bub at park x2. Ate higher calories today as went out to dinner/desert but still within maintaince calories. Xox9 -
@MaltedTea - someday I hope we can sit down and have a cup of positivitea together. I just love your outlook, determination, and sense of humor. And I needed this reminder to be positive. I was taught years ago than when someone comes up to me with a complaint, I have a choice to either throw gasoline or water on it. Today I am going to a grand nephews graduation party. His mom, my nephew’s wife, is intolerable and will likely be spewing hateful comments all day. Thanks for the reminder to stay positive and maybe spread cheer instead of fuel her debates.15

What does being positive look like for you today?
This is something I am really working on. By nature I am a negative, glass half empty kind of person, and granted I have some circumstances in my life that are difficult to put a positive spin on. However, I realize how exhausting and unproductive negativity is and I am making concerted efforts to make changes. My looming 60th birthday has really upended everything for me, but I am feeling hopeful!
Currently I am trying to focus on what I can control and squelching self criticism. For instance earlier this week I ran 4 miles for the first time, which was a huge accomplishment. Still, I only was happy for about 15 seconds, then immediately my attitude shifted to "oh that was slow." However I recognized what I was doing and said "STOP!"

@donna25trinity - 😍 A positive attitude. Bravo for staying within maintenance calories.
@biketheworld - may your positivity trump hateful comments.
@bradkcrew - I realised several decades ago that it isn't possible to control other people or events. However, it is possible to control how we react to them. Looking for a way to benefit or learn from all events is quite liberating. So that's what I I'm training myself to do. It's difficult to change a lifetime habit, but it is so rewarding. Celebrate every little triumph on your journey.

@TerriRichardson112 That's a GREAT default position to have.
@donna25trinity Kudos on your "3x YES" day and your pragmatic philosophy
@biketheworld Ah, you gotta love family functions with odd relatives! There's a always valid rain-check on that cup of tea, btw
@bradkcrew a looming 60th birthday is a blessing! We're in the same boat when it comes to negative self talk...
In fact, I was - ironically - what I called "less than enthusiastic" about myself in my post in the main forums about positivitea.
7 -
@MaltedTea I love your post on positivitea! My default is self critical and catastrophizing. Gonna start working on it today :-)
Anyway, yes x3.
Walk dog in park, then in woods. Did easy sets of squats, plan to go back to heavy next week.6 -
@MaltedTea You look great in that pic!4
-
✔️✔️✔️ all the things done this week!
Positive thoughts for the week ahead as too much energy is wasted borrowing trouble only robbing you of today's joy.6 -
@Anya_000 - Today is a good day to start working on positivity. Congrats on three x yes. That’s a good start.3

I resonate with many of the replies posted.
I choose to live in spite of the negative.
I wasn't always that way though.

Exercise – yes, 2 short bike rides (it’s been wet) and some walking workouts. My ribs are really hurting today, it’s been a week since I came off the bike. I’m afraid I may have actually cracked a rib, but I know there’s no treatment so I’ll just carry on being careful. I struggled with my shopping today.
Tracking and calories, yes, and yes. Had to be careful with the calories as I had less exercise than usual.
1 pass day taken.
Positivity? I decided some years ago that I could only control my own actions and responses, I have little control over others’ so I work at being positive myself.
@biketheworld that is a really difficult situation, and one that you have to live with if you want to keep in touch with the family. Not easy.
@bradkcrew – I can empathise with the difficult life circumstances (not just my recent bereavement but a difficult childhood) and can definitely recommend making that effort to reject the negativity. Put it behind you if you can and move forward.

Yes X 3.
Run today. I'm currently staying with my parents for a few days so my exercise will be walking or running exclusively. I'm looking forward to mixing it up again when I get home.
For me positivitea is about acceptance. I'm struggling when I look down at my stomach and think about the journey I'm starting to just keep putting one foot in front of the other rather than feel upset and annoyed that I have to do the journey.7 -
@lesdarts180 - I hope the ribs heal quickly. (((Hugs)))2

Saturday 7th August;
Exercise: 30 minutes morning walk ✅
Tracked calories: yes ✅
Stayed under calorie goal: ✅
It was raining in the morning but me & hubby put our coats on and walked anyway ☔️ and so glad we did. Had a lovely walk together.
Had another night without wine which is a big win for me considering it’s the weekend 🤪 Trying as hard as I can to hold on to my final day pass 🤣6 -

Hang in there. You can do this.4 -
A photo from the Old Base Chapel in Plattsburgh NY this was once a SAC base (strategic air command) we had a good family friend’s daughter married there today. The light fixtures are made from the iron from the ship the USS O’Brien the chapel is built on land that was used in the War of 1812, this area is rich in military history. Glad to say it’s my hometown.
Positivity today was how happy everyone was.
0/3 pass days logged tracked and did spin.

yes to all questions.
Pass day: 0
Calories to burns: 47,740. Yesterday: 45,430. Since I gained some today, I only walked again. When I lose some, I will do a harder workout in addition to walking.
Being positive means waking up in the morning ready to tackle any obstacles in the way and end the day victoriously.
Goodnight to you all 💜💛.3 -

@Anya_000 Glad it resonated - in a positive way - with you. And kudos on your 3x day.
@bradcrew Thank you for saying so. If only we could take our compliments for each other and then use them more often on ourselves...
@tahm42 Aye! Sounds like a SUPER PRODUCTIVE end to the week!
Loving these long walks @oh_jackie
@WhatMeRunning You also had a super solid week! Congrats!

C✔️ T✔️ E✔️
PASSES USED: 0/3
✔️ Net carbs <25%? Yes. 24%
✔️ Protein >100g? Yes. 116g.
✔️ Yoga. Yes.
Kettlebell. Rest Day.
✔️ 12k steps? Yes, 19,000
WEEKEND STEP CHALLENGE UPDATE: I completed 19k steps and 6 miles today! The rain moved in and DH came and picked me up! (I had brought an umbrella, but the wind was whipping around pretty good, so I'm glad he came!) 🌂 Plus there was lightning, and that makes it a whole different monster...... ⚡
But THAT MEANS that the balance of my weekend step commitment is due tomorrow!! 31k steps, and 10 more miles! 👣👟 (But no worries! My Sunday "ice cream walks" are 11 miles and usually give me 28k - 30k steps.) As long as the rain holds off, I should be fine!!
Great opening post @MaltedTea !! And WONDERFUL job on the protein today!!
What does being positive look like for you today?
For me, being positive means doing my best on any given day, and not dwelling on the past, or beating myself up over my shortcomings and failures. And I the positivity of this group.7 -
Correction the bell in the Old Base Chapel comes from the USS O’Brien the iron lights in the Chapel were hand made by the military blacksmith.6
