On August 1st, we celebrated the Winner’s Circle who regularly met the UAC's three foundational goals. Today, we are celebrating the UAC Champions. These are members who continued to stay active and accountable throughout the month despite all obstacles.
Here is our great list of Champion members.

15 mins of jogging is no joke! Huge Kudos to YOU @donna25trinity !! That's terrific in my book!!5 -
Congratulations to the Champions!!! It's one of the best things about UAC.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
@donna25trinity well done on the jog! I recommend C25K program because it really helps you to increase your running without injury.
Day 3 of August. Well let's just say - August started out GREAT but it's gone downhill from there just with strange "stuff"... But as long as I get my 3 yes'es for the day it's never really a "bad" day.7 -

Nice surprise this morning – I weighed in for the first time since I left home last Monday, and was only about 0.8 kg higher. That will be easy to take off again now that I’m home, cooking my own meals. The week away was very active and I have the principles of healthy eating firmly engrained now so I shouldn’t be surprised but it’s nice to see it all the same.
Exercise - yes
Tracking - yes
Calories - yes
I fell off my bike on Saturday evening, no drama, just misjudged a corner while avoiding pedestrians. However, on Sunday morning I woke up with pain in my ribs and it’s still painful to take a deep breath so my exercise has been low key. I did two bike rides today (40+ minutes) and some light low impact cardio.
Perseverance describes my life pretty well these days. Putting one foot in front of the other. We were on holiday in a resort full of families and most of them had daddies. Watching daddies playing with their children in the pool was very hard. We planned the holiday while my son was still alive and he was supposed to be with us (albeit he would have been sick) so I missed him every day.

As for the question, "How is August going so far"?
So far better than July (for me at least). A lot better. And there's still 4 weeks to go! I'm hoping it continues like this for the next 4 weeks!
August 3
The Big Three (I personally want to get these right before worrying about anything else)
✅ - Exercise 20+ Minutes
✅ - Calories within budget
✅ - Tracked every detail I consumed
Pass Days Used: 0/3
The Added Challenges (I feel confident enough with my discipline in the Big Three to further challenge myself with these)
✅ - Net Carbs 30g or less (22g)
✅ - Protein 180g or more (204g)
✅ - 5+ Fruits/Veggies (7)
✅ - 15k Steps or more (18,844 so far)
✅ - Eat back fewer than 30% of exercise calories (24% - 328 of 1348)
Personal Challenges Met: 3/3 days
Today's Exercise- Morning Walk - 70 mins (4.25 miles)
- Hilly Afternoon Walk - 64 mins (3.76 miles, 521 foot elevation gain)
- Strength - 30 mins Upper Body A (DB Bench Press, Lat Pull-Downs, Banded Tricep Extensions)
@donna25trinity - Congrats! That means you ran at the right effort! It's when you get more than just a couple minutes faster than walking that you won't get very far and wind up hurting a lot more than necessary. Very impressive! Oh, and I definitely concur with @SummerSkier about C25K for anyone starting up running.5 -
@donna25trinity Well done on the jogging! That's great! I have heard the None to Run app is a little easier to progress through than C25k - not really sure what the differences are!3

August 3rd:
✅ Tracked all my calories
✅ Stayed under calorie goal
✅ Exercised more than 20 mins (Yoga with Adriene)
3/3 days
0/3 pass days used
Almost had a pass day. My parents were visiting and it got to 9:30pm, I hadn't done any exercise and I thought about just having a pass day. But then I thought hang on, it's only the 3rd! What if I need the pass days later on?! So I quietly went off to the home gym and did a quick yoga video which was actually really great and released some compression in my spine so that's always a good thing!13 -
✅ - Exercise 20+ Minutes - 170 minutes, Aerobics/walking/gardening/dancing
✅ - Calories within budget
✅ - Tracked everything
3️⃣ Pass Days left
August has been quite good so far. Today we successfully thinned out a large bay tree in our front garden which had grown too tall and wide and was shading some other plants.6 -
✔️Stayed under calories
✔️Tracked every BLT
✔️Exercised
Barre/ pilates fusion this morning! Oh wow I am going to be hurting. These ladies really burned my calves hips and shoulders. It surprised me that they wouldn't attempt the CrossFit class. CrossFit is scheduled for tomorrow!

Today was a bit tough, but managed to finish my 10k 👣. I'm also happy that we had a cake and I didn't feel the slightest desire to eat it 🤗. So for me, today ended perfectly despite everything else.

So glad that you were still able to enjoy your holiday I would like to think that your son was there in spirit. I will share a story from our house that when someone we care deeply for is no longer with us we like to remember them by the first stars at night. I hope over time you find comfort and glad that you have been able to be part of the UAC family throughout the past months stay the course.🙂5 -

Congrats to all the Champions! Perseverance definitely pays off!
@lesdarts180 My heart aches for your loss! So many firsts done without a loved one the first couple of years after losing him. I’m so impressed with how well you are staying on track with maintenance!
@Bradkcrew Congrats on your 4 mile run! Very impressive!

August is going well so far! I jogged on the treadmill today instead of outside. The treadmill forces me to keep whatever pace I’ve set it on. During Covid, I quit going to our fitness center here for over a year and my jogging pace outside has gotten SLOW! It’s going to take some time to bring it back up. That’s okay though. I’m just happy at my age (57) I can still jog 6 1/2 miles each time.6 -

My August is going well. I'm determined to be in the Winner's Circle this month! I'm dead set on getting 0 Pass Days!! I'm tired of playing around!
I'm determined to get out of the 160's this month (been sitting in the 160's for a few months). I'm pre-logging all my meals for the entire day and am trying harder to get more protein so I'm not "hungry" all the time! So far, so good!7 -
@clutterqueen Congrats on your running as well! Awesome job!!0

@Mrs_Hoffer
Nice work don’t give up I too have been bouncing back and forth between the low 160’s and the high 150’s it’s got to get better. Hope your kettlebell workouts treat you well it’s hard work !1
