Giving myself three yes today. According to my watch, 5.75 miles plus 84 flights inside the house today. I figure that counts for exercise. Tracking and calories good. AND, I ate a fruit. 10 PM watermelon. Heading to sleep.... Painters arrive again at 7. Appliance guy at 9, plumber at 8, donation pickup at 1, and supposedly the electrician is going to show as well.7

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yeah, kind of. My usual to/from the bus, the stairs to/from the courtroom (7th to 4th and back again), twice, the sprint to get to the truck from the store while carrying the bag of dog food, trying to get there before the sprinkle became a downpour (the weather service had already alerted to a severe storm warning), only to have it all peter out. No real rain, and wind only for a short time. I was bummed. And it was like a sauna out there when I took Sienna for her last walk of the night. Blech!
Did I track everything? I did, although I estimated at dinner again.
Did I stay within calories? I did not. But I had mushrooms, onions, and blueberries this morning (not, mind you, together... the mushrooms and onions were in the eggs while the blueberries were just eaten by the handful an hour or so later). I had spinach at lunch. And dinner was a yummy salad. So at least I got some freggies in today.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. I went for what should have been a 30-minute walk. It was (finally!) an amazingly beautiful day with the lowest humidity we have had all summer. I was out for more than an hour because many neighbors that I have not seen in so long were also out walking. Oh how I wish I could have walked for an actual hour, but I had to get back for a conference call. At least I got wonderfully fresh air and a healthy dose of vitamin D!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes.

@LazyBlondeChef That Dumbbell Challenge program is solid and full of great foundational moves you can use for LIFE. Good on you!
@Geneveremfp I'd love to hear what ends up working for/resonating with you with your meditation practice!
@mshawski I hope the bug is only 6 calories as opposed to 60 lol
To everyone drawing/journaling their progress and sharing it with us like @biketheworld and @MadisonMolly2017 thank you
@donna25trinity And, thank you for sharing your "Why" along with Will Bowen...

As for me, I fixed my calendar (the days were wrong) and got down to the first day of the The 10,000 Swing Kettlebell Workout. I have committed to running this program every 5 months. This is my THIRD time around but the first time realizing...
I've been doing it wrong! Mmmmmk 🤪Instead of doing one accessory exercise between sets for the entire month, I'm supposed to rotate between four of them.---|---|---|---
Also, when they say DO NOT DO ANY OTHER WORKOUTS during the day, they mean it. Even though my morning workout (20 min jog, 10 min skipping, 10 min hip rehab) was short, my afternoon KB workout had me near death and took MUCH longer than I thought.
But it got done and that's what matters.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES | Run (20), Skipping (10), Hip rehab (10), KB workout (70)* TOTAL: 110
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES | Base + 556
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES |
---|---|---|---
*NOTE: Only 40 minutes tracked as calories since I was weeping over my weaknesses for approx 30 min. I don't think that burns anything except pride.
Personal Bonus: Did I meet my protein macro for the day (40%)? NO | 31%

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, not much over, but did a couple short YouTube workouts. I was pleased because they included more calisthenic/strength moves vs steady state cardio.

Awesome day today @savvybshoes !! And just FYI...... if you miss a day due to being super busy, or company, or whatever - you can go back and fill in that day in the next day or two. For me - if I can't "remember" (because all the days begin to blur together!), then I simply look back at my food diary because it should all be there (total calories, over/under, and exercise - if you're logging it there). Hope that helps!0 -
I enjoy all your posts.
Yes x 3
Started running again yesterday. Ran five minutes, walked one, ran four walked fifteen. Up and down hills in the woods. I was up to a 5K in 35 minutes months ago, but that's ok. I'll take my time and I get there again. The main thing at my age is, don't get injured 😂6 -

Okay, need to get the hang of this! Just noticed everyday has a new thread. I accidentally posted this to 8/1 so here is my repost to the correct day:
Hello Trimstones! Hope everyone had a good day!!
Exercise: Yes. Today was my running rest day. I went to Planet Fitness and did my weight circuit. I timed it and it actually turned out to be 20 minutes! It was a beautiful day so I went out for a walk after for three miles at a comfortable 16 minute-ish pace.
Log: Yes, even the sweet and low packets and the sticks of gum. Tedious!
Under: Yes, but I did a little better today with getting my calorie count up a bit.
Great weigh in today! I lost 3.6 lbs after a disappointing .6lbs last week. I changed nothing. ???
Tomorrow I will be attempting a 4 mile run for the first time, which I am dreading...I am going to be kind to myself though and if I need to walk in some spots I won't consider it a failure.6 -

Enjoyed the rain today. Was able to get my pickleball in before the storms hit.3 -
@Anya_000 I know that's right!!!!
@bradkcrew It can be a little confusing in the beginning, but no worries! You got it!!
@fossil9078 Awesome 3 yesses!!! And pickleball!? I admit, I had to google it. I'd heard of it before, but never knew what it was! It looks like a ton of fun!!!!1 -

I’m home again now so getting back on track. I drove home this morning, had lunch and dinner at home so tracking was easier.
Didn’t get so much exercise as recently but I did have two short bike rides and did enough walking to rack up almost 10k steps.
So, exercise – yes
Tracking – yes
Calories – yes.
I’m tired out – didn’t sleep well last night, and a whole week with the grandchildren is catching up with me.

@LazyBlondeChef That Dumbbell Challenge program is solid and full of great foundational moves you can use for LIFE. Good on you!
@MaltedTea I think it's an especially good program for someone new to weights. I've been lifting weights off and on for 40 some years so I found it not to be quite enough work. I use a typical lifting style and not the circuit style. I also do 3-4 sets rather than 2-3 and add several other exercises such as calf lifts (7 sets!). I was a little fascinated that doing all those glute exercises increased my hips by 1/2" in about six weeks. It probably just raised everything up. I have small hips and was pleased about that. Not sure how much more I can gain but I would love another inch in the hips coupled with losing a few inches in the waist/lower ab area.
We all have our challenges!
For anyone new to weight lifting here is the link: https://www.livestrong.com/article/13727083-dumbbell-challenge
The reason I used it as a base was because it is completely dumbbell based so easily done in a home gym with very little equipment. The program I used before I had to make a lot of modifications to exercises using barbells or gym equipment that I think I lost some of the program balance.
This site is pretty good for showing you how to do most of the dumbbell weight exercises in proper form:
