New App to Try

In the bariatric seminar I join in monthly from my surgeon's office the nutritionist told us about a cool journaling app called Ate. I've been looking through it and I think it could be really cool and helpful. It is free (with a paid premium level naturally) but I'd only go that route if I really get into it. You take a picture of your meal or snack as you are to have it and give a small note on how it fits your path and so on. Looks fun! My biggest problem will come with the fact I don't live on my phone... I don't carry it around the house and don't like have notifications on so reminders won't help lol but I still hope to try it out!

I haven't had a good experience with the app. It never stops counting the time of my challe ge thing. I'm pretty savvy on apps, but this one isn't very intuitive. What features are you using and how?

I haven't been keeping up with it so far. But I've not been keeping up here either. I will give it another serious go this week. I'm trying to track more in general, as usual hahaha
So far taking a moment to look through I can't see how to stop that. But I think I understand the intention of it because they "intend" you to always be tracking all the time and that is maybe showing time between meals and snacks? And time from the moment you started on your 'path'
I dunno... I think (for me) the bigger question is: Do I really need the pressure of tracking in a whole nother app?0 -
My doctor suggested I try a new scale that pairs with an app called Active Era. Besides your weight, the scale also reads your BMI, BMR, body fat%, subcutaneous and visceral fat weight, bone weight, muscle mass AND body water and protein. It's been a game changer for me! The numbers are averages based on your age, sex, weight and activity level. I love the BMR because it gives you the number of calories your body requires to do nothing but sit and watch TV all day (lol). If your intake is less than the BMR, you'll lose weight! If you exercise and build up your muscle mass, you can see your metabolic rate increase as well. I was also shocked to see how low my water and protein numbers were. My nutritionist is always happy if I get 60 grms of protein a day, but my protein numbers are below average! I can actually see them increase as I increase my intake. There are makes of the scale on Amazon. I only paid $25 for mine. Thought I'd share2
