Thanks everyone!! It was the best day we could have ever hoped for! ♥️ So many fun details came together to really make our day truly memorable.
The surgery on Friday went really well! It was over before I knew it. About an hour in recovery room waking up. The staff was so nice. I really enjoyed that bag of Fudge Stripe cookies after fasting all morning and no coffee either! The nerve block from my knee down was only supposed to last until about noon today, but it a couple hours after midnight now and I can just now BARELY wiggle my toes. That means no pain still. The painkillers are still on standby. My sweet wife and neighbors are taking wonderful care of me and they are running errands (pharmacy, food, misc) so she doesn’t have to. Some other wonderful friends brought yummy, healthy dinners for tonight and tomorrow. We are so lucky yo be surrounded by so much love and support. I have so much to be grateful for. Kitty is also enjoying cuddling up next to me in bed pretty much round the clock. Time sure seems to be going so slow though! I have lots of things to do to pass the time when I’m not napping. Books, puzzle & coloring books, naps, podcasts, Facebook, golf on my phone, more naps, TV, eating & snacking…
More later! Keep on moving for me!
Dave

Dave - hearing the surgery went well is the best news ever!2 -
Dave, great wedding photos!! So happy for you, and I'm so glad your surgery went well!

The wedding pictures are beautiful - and you both look like the cat that got the cream, so happy.
I’m so pleased that your surgery has gone well so far. You’ll be up and running soon!
May I halve my mileage … I may be able to do 40 this month. Whilst tail walking at parkrun on Saturday I stumbled on the trail section and inflicted some damage on my ankle. That would be the ankle that is recovering from the avulsion fracture I inflicted on it in April. I was just beginning to build my running miles up again.
I’ll post my miles tomorrow.2 -

YES, let's all please try to stop getting hurt. Our recovery time isn't what it used to be 20-30 years ago.

I just carried the final July mile totals and Goal Streak numbers over to August. Let me know if anything looks funny. I just took some pain meds, but I don't feel loopy yet so I probably did it correctly...

@TAXMOM9093 - I sure hope not! We don't want anyone else joining us on the injured reserve list. And you'd better find some wood to knock on really quickly!!

@Dave - That still looks like it's going to be painful. I'm impressed with the wrap job on the splint. Looks like you got a nurse who knew what she was doing. The hard part is still coming. I know you well enough to know you hate to stay down and tendons take longer to heal than bones do so don't push it faster than the doctors tell you to.1

Yes, I did get some good pain meds. Thankfully, Tylenol has been all I’ve needed today! I’m staying completely off of it and that part is driving me batty. I’ve only been out of the bed two or three times in the last 5 days. Going to use my knee scooter and shower bench to get cleaned up later tonight and to roll to my office chair in the next room tomorrow. I can keep it elevated while I’m in there.
