I'm happy with that. I feel like I'm in a groove with intake, even if it is somewhat repetitive. At least it's working. . . so far, lol.

Sarah, I think getting into that walk/run group would be very fun. And a great way to meet new people with similar interests and health goals. You like company when you walk, so it's a perfect fit for you.

Kelly, I can't wait to hear about your dinner with your friends. And at a restaurant! My friends have not been ready for that, mostly because one of them refuses to get vaccinated and believes a lot of strange things about the government, big Pharma, etc. I read that the actress, Jennifer Aniston, has let some friends go because of this same problem. I've thought about it too. It's so sad that this is happening with people. Anyway, I hope you had fun. Canada has passed the U.S. in vaccines . . . way to go.

Lois, hope your job is allowing some time for you. Also, did hubby pass his testing?

I only had a few minutes to check in today. I'll be back tomorrow to read your posts.

    AVGTW - 232.2

A reduction. I was behaving for the most part. Part of it was also due to I had some leftovers for lunch on Monday and ended up having stomach issues so no eating most of Tuesday...ordered some pho ga for lunch yesterday and I had three small bowls from 1pm until I went to bed. Feeling better today and still have some pho for lunch today. And due to the tummy issues, no way I was going to get on the TM.

Hubby survived his testing. One of the senior masters stopped to talk to him on Friday and said he looked good at his testing. This particular person has known my hubby through all of his hip challenges and such so it made hubby feel good. He won't find out the results until Sept/Oct. Fingers are crossed.

Sheesh - GREAT job!!! I have printed off the grandma exercises and have done part of them ONCE. I better get to it quick...we're 60 days from Disneyland!

We do get to see the other two grandkids this Saturday. They're coming up for an afternoon swim and dinner...hopefully the weather is good (we're still in the monsoon season - so who knows).

MIL had a dr appt yesterday...hubby took her and then called me mid-appt. Apparently she's been having some shortness of breath when lying down and palpitations (she didn't tell me so I had no clue). We now have a cardiologist appt today. They can run a check on her pacemaker and see what's happening.

Kelly - hoping your supper at the restaurant with your friends was mahvelous!!

Sarah - I just saw your FB post and (Sheesh you an email). Hoping you get some rest and feel better quickly. Prayers that the neck issue isn't aggravated. Hugs from your Fitty Bitty gal. Have hubby call that plastics person for you.

A little progress showing today, but I've seen that 133 number a couple of times recently and I don't want that to stay as the top of my range.

Kelly and Lois, I know you saw my post on FB about my accident, and if I understand you correctly Lois, you sent an email to Sheesh. As an update, the plastic surgeon I was referred to cannot see me in the next few days because of surgeries, so he referred me to someone in Chevy Chase who is seeing me tomorrow at 1 p.m. That's none too early, as the glue type closures they used in the ER are not holding and my cut is oozing. Hubby has just left for the pharmacy to get the script for an antibiotic filled. In the meantime, I looked at my knee that I thought was just sore, and I think the kneecap may be out of place. So I'm seeing my family practitioner on Friday. I was supposed to see her within 3-4 days anyway. The plastic surgeon is in Chevy Chase, which is one of the "rich areas" around here, so hopefully he's good. I told the ER doc last night that I am just practicing for my face lift! LOL

Well, now I need to let work know that I won't be working tomorrow afternoon and that I won't be meeting my contact from the contracting company on Friday to give back my CDC laptop. FedEx will have to do.

So my goal for next week is to not gain because I'm not able to do much and to try to stay focused on positive things. Honestly, you guys know me well, so I will just say that having serious damage done to your face is pretty devastating.

Oh my God Sarah!!! This is so awful!! I'm so sorry!! I'm sending you my healing thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad you're otherwise healthy, and I know you'll heal quickly. I hope the surgeon can get you taken care of with no more pain and suffering. What a shock this has to be for you. . so sudden, and when you're out doing something healthy for yourself. Not fair. Wow, paramedics and all. Unbelievable. It's good that your contract is ending now and you can take time to rest and heal.

Thank you Lois for letting me know by taking the time to email. I really appreciate it. I suppose I should get back on Facebook someday soon. I see my family other ways, but I miss seeing my friends there. Too bad there's so much garbage there. I hope your tummy is feeling better and that it's not a bug. Take care and have fun this weekend with the grands.

Congratulations to both of you on your reductions. It puts our vanity into perspective though when an accident like Sarah's happens. Aren't we glad our bodies have the ability to heal?

I have a full day today with trainer, optical apt, play dates, and tonight we're going to a dance recital (outdoors) for our granddaughter here. It's an hour away, but we want to be there for her.

Have a good day. Sarah, please just rest. <3

I'm actually surprised, as I thought it would be higher. I have been having some sugar lately (licorice, a couple freezies) but have still been eating mostly good. Still not eating regular bread, only Carbonaut and some Keto bagels.
I have not been focusing at all on my 2 goals of more water and getting my exercise in. I have many legit excuses, but I just have prioritize it.

Sarah... I just don't even know what to say. When I read your facebook post, my heart dropped and I teared up a bit. I can't even imagine how scared you were in that moment and how much pain you were probably in. I wish I could give you a hug. Definitely sending you major healing thoughts and I hope your appointment with the plastic surgeon went better than expected and hopefully your doctor says it's something simple with your knee. Fingers crossed for you. I agree with Sheesh when she says it's a good thing your work contract is ending and you don't have to worry about that while you're healing.

Lois - Sorry to hear about the tummy problems. I also experience them more often than not. My Mom has diverticulitis, so I'm just happy I don't experience that. I feel so bad when she's stuck in bed or home because of it. My issues are attributed to food intolerances for sure. I have realized recently that eggs are a big issue. A long time ago I went to a Naturopath to figure out my issues and I did a blood test thingy. Egg whites were one of the top things that I had issues with. Luckily, I really only have issues when I just have eggs cooked and not really when there are eggs in foods.
That's crazy that it takes so long for your husband to find out about his testing! Why does it take that long?
Hopefully all is well with your MIL. <3

Sheesh - Hope you have a good day today with the trainer and play dates and appointments.

The restaurant date was fantastic, as expected! We sat on an outside patio, which was great cause the weather was nice and it was one of the few days here where it wasn't smoky. We tried to remember the last time we got together for a dinner and we think it was January 2019 lol. We had all been together for one of their children's birthday parties in September 2020 in their backyard, but we haven't actually hung out all together without kids and husbands since then. Crazy.
So our province has decided to lift almost all restrictions starting Saturday, including mandatory masks. I don't agree with their decision, as I feel masks are so simple to wear. Don't get me wrong, I don't like wearing them, but I don't find it to be horrible. I have talked to many people about it and most people I know will continue wearing masks when it public, especially with people they don't know at like grocery stores and such. There are still some restrictions in place, but minor ones. I just feel like they should have waited until kids went back to school to see how things are then, especially with the Delta variant very much out there and spreading. Oh I'm sooo done with this stuff already.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes and sympathy. I've really needed both. I had the plastic surgeon appointment today and he decided that he did not want to try to sew me up at this point. He was afraid that pulling off all that super glue type stuff used by the ER doc would be horribly painful and might do some damage. He said he prefers to wait and let it come off on it's own and then take a look and decide how to proceed. He said that could take three to four weeks. In the meantime, I'm supposed to continue taking the antibiotic for a week and put Neosporin on it twice a day. He assured me that eventually, I will have a pretty normal looking nose.

He also said that the soreness in my neck and back will improve quicker if I move than if I keep staying still. So I can walk, if I'm brave enough. :# I think I'll try because the scale was up to 133 again today, even though I had no appetite yesterday and ate very little.

Tomorrow I go to the regular doc for a checkup and to get my knee looked at. I had swelling the size and shape of a tennis ball on the top part of my knee yesterday. I thought that the kneecap was misplaced, but now I think it was just swelling.

Our neighbors who are good friends sent me an email and said they saw all the blood on the sidewalk and were just horrified. I had so much on my clothes and skin, it's hard to believe any was on the sidewalk. I was wearing light gray jeans that I think are bound for the trash can!

Lois, I hope that your MIL gets a good report about her pacemaker and I hope the tummy problems go away. Those are hard to live with.

Kelly, I am so glad you had a nice dinner with your friends, and I also think it's a good idea to mask up no matter what.

Sheesh, I was glad to see that Lois quickly shared my post from FB and got you in the loop. I miss seeing the photos you shared on FB, but understand if you had issues with that platform. I only friend people I know well and I don't respond to things that are sent to everyone on FB, just those posted by folks I know, so I don't get a lot disturbing "misinformation" posts and I only occasionally get a friend request that is obviously a troll. Those usually come from a handsome widower who posts pictures of a lovely house and a luxury car. Right!!! Once I got requests from two people who owned the SAME boat and car! :p Guess they both stole the same pic.

Sounds like everyone has some fun things planned for the next few days. :) We are supposed to go to a party on Saturday so we can see a good friend who moved to NC a couple of years ago. He's in town for a few days. At first, I said no way am I going to be among people with this ugly nose covered with the yuckiest yellow glue stuff. It is truly alarming looking. But now I am thinking that maybe I can put a bandage on it . . . We'll see. ;)

Kelly - such good news to hear about your fun outing. It's kind of funny as I was just thinking when the last time we met any of our friends at a restaurant. We actually usually meet at one of our homes because it's easier with all of their kids and seating 15 people...well that's a challenge. And we're loud enough on our own. But yeah it's been a while since we've "hung out" with them. I'm so happy you did meet up with them and had a good time.

Sarah - while you may not think the news from the dr. is great - to my ears it is good. He'll take good care of you and you will be mahvelous looking my dahling in no time at all!! Hoping all is well with your knee and the rest of you. Move yes - but rest also. Be sure hubby is nearby. I can imagine if your vision may be somewhat altered due to the swelling. Hopefully you don't have to wear glasses or contacts to be able to see. Just be safe. Going to the party may still be fun...just to be around others for a little while. You may regret not seeing them after they've gone home more than being seen with your injuries. Too funny on your trolls. And I'm glad I thought to send Sheesh an email. You gals are important to me and I knew she'd want to know and send some good healing juju through her words. I had a very similar reaction to how Kelly described. We may have never met in person or hugged or anything like that, but you ladies are friends to me and important.

MIL check up was fine. The cardiologist thought I was bonkers for bringing her in. He saw/heard nothing in her reports, vitals and stethoscope to warrant a visit. maybe slight swelling but not enough for him to write an rx for water pills yet. She gets more bloodwork done in a couple of weeks and the following week we go back for another check. I swear, I think MIL WANTS to be sick or something. She's been coughing a bit, but it's usually because she's dehydrated (she does not drink enough water - she'll argue that but she doesn't). I mentioned it to the cardiologist and he listened and said all is well. Last night...she's telling me she's coughing (mind you she never said a word about it) and says she wishes they'd prescribe something for it. I said they did - water... oh and she said she coughed up blood. I know she's using cherry lozenges right now...and when I said that she actually was crestfallen that something more wasn't wrong with her. I told her, sorry, but you're pretty healthy and currently not ill.... most people would be happier than you appear at the moment. But that's where we are.

My tummy issues are resolved. honestly my tummy gets upset over the weirdest stuff the past couple of years. But I'm feeling better the past couple of days. Kelly - I'm so happy that I don't have that like your mom, but there are times I need imodium to venture out and I'm not sick...just still have the issues that no one can identify.

Well in the process of loading a new community and writing in between uploads... so better save so I don't lose my post! Have a great weekend ladies...I've got the older grands tomorrow afternoon and now dinner with Rhea and her family for some Disney planning that is 58 days away!

    Happy Monday!

    Sarah - I'm hoping you're feeling a bit better.

Did not get to see the older grands on Saturday - ggggrrrr. Their dad had a 2 hour convo with my grandson after a football cert and they missed the timing for them to come over. Will try again in 2 weeks. ggrrrr. We did get to see Rhea yesterday for a few hours at her home. Sadly we weren't solely focused on her as the four adults had to discuss the Disneyland trip as just about everything has to be reserved (breakfasts, lunches & dinners - especially the character dining experience). She did get time with us and we had fun - but just not the whole time.

Saturday I did get one mile on the TM (limited to 40 mins as I had to reserve energy for the older grands that were supposed to come over). By the time I was told they weren't coming, I was in a funk and had no energy. Sunday am, groceries were ordered to arrive between 10-11. I was woken at 730 (I sleep until 8ish on Sundays) that the shopper was shopping. Groceries were there at 815 and again my morning got flubbed. I had planned to wake at 8 and jump on the TM before the groceries arrived so that I could get my meal prep done before we went to Rheas. When the groceries arrived, I jumped into meal prep and then it was almost time to go to Rheas. UGH. Hubby and MIL chicken, sweet potatoes and eggs were all prepared. Also I had purchased an overload of fruits from Costco on Friday as the two older grands can pack away the fruit. I ended up taking a lot to Rhea's on Sunday so it wouldn't spoil. So we have lots and lots of fruits still.

    Happy Monday Evening!

Sarah, I've been thinking about you so much, and sending healing thoughts! <3 Hope you're getting them. How did it go with the doctor about your knee? Is this the doc you see about your Thyroid too? Fingers crossed for you . . and did you decide to go to the party on Saturday?

Lois, it's so frustrating to have to change our plans at the last minute. It happens all the time for me too. I think my hubby and kids think my schedule is wide open, lol! I don't leave my day open . . I plan it. But, I try to be flexible too, cuz you never know what great thing might happen. Or, we could have something happen like what happened to Sarah. You never know what your day might have in store for you. Glad your tummy is better, and that MIL's heart is fine. And, good for you getting your meal prep done, and at least the mile on the TM.

Kelly, probably you're working hard. Look forward to your post.

I had a nice weekend. We went our granddaughter's dance recital Thursday night. I'll try to post a picture. . . she's so cute. It was so well done! Outdoor stage, lighting, background video on a huge screen. I was glad it was outdoors because there were a lot of people there! Saturday and Sunday we were at the cabin. . no kids or grands . . just us. Trimmed whole property. My trainer had brought us fresh corn on the cob, so we had that and beef and salad . . Yum!

My trainer is always bringing me food, lol! A trainer who feeds me, hah! She has chickens so she brings me fresh eggs, and today she brought me "Ted Lasso" biscuits she made! (Do you ladies watch that show? It's really good . . got a lot of Emmys) She found a recipe online and made them. So good, but so full of butter :p I'll post the recipe if you want to make them.
But, I'm probably not going to get a good reduction Wednesday . . could be a gain.

We started getting smoke from the Cali fires on Friday. . It is bad! There was even smoky skies at the cabin. Been using my rescue inhaler more than I want to. . The wind is supposed to shift later this week. So, been staying inside. She worked me good today, and then I did a cardio dvd.

Quick check in. Sheesh - your granddaughter is so adorable. How fun! The cabin sounded really nice until you tossed in all of the work you were doing and the smoke. And your trainer bringing you food - job security Buahahahaha.. I crack myself up.

Sarah - checking to see how you are feeling and how things went to the doctor.

Kelly - I'm sure you're busy with work.

Hoping all is well with everyone.

Hi, Ladies. Sorry to be silent, but I've had a few things to do, and truth be told--I do not have my normal energy yet. I have walked only once since my fall a week ago today. That was night before last on the treadmill for 45 minutes. But I went very slow (2.5 mph; no incline versus my usual 3.3 mph, 2 degrees incline). And just doing that made my nervous. I kept my hand on the rail some. I think it will take me some time to get over falling like that.

My regular doc took a look a my knee and my bruises and road rash and said all should heal in time. My blood pressure was up to 152 over something, so she wants to monitor that. It was 127 over something last time I was in. She said it's probably just the stress of the accident, but she wants to monitor it. Which reminds me that I was supposed to take it at home twice a day over the weekend and let her know on Monday--and I forgot until this moment! So logging here is good.

Some of the super glue stuff is already coming off my nose and I'm going to to have quite the scar I think. But I trust the plastic surgeons can do something to minimize it later. If COVID kicks up much more, they will probably stop doing anything elective again, so I hope that it heals fast. One thing is worrying me today and that's my teeth. I didn't lose any, but I have few that are sore. I'm wondering if there was damage at the roots? And gosh darn, it's my top front ones! I need to get to the dentist soon. My mouth has been so sore where the bottom teeth pulverized the inside of my lower lip I have not felt I could bear having her put x-ray slides in.

Yesterday was my last day of work. I worked all day, and then tried to pull together my equipment to take to Fed Ex to ship back. And I could not for the life of me find all the extra accessories that come with a laptop. I thought I put them in a box to be ready to ship out, but I searched until hubby threw a fit at me because I was tiring and stressing myself out so. So I stopped and did a thorough search this morning. I have the most important things and the ones they are concerned about for security reasons, so I everything around here that says Dell in a box and I'm hoping they just focus on the laptop and badge. Got that Fed Ex early this afternoon.

Sheesh, I have felt your good thoughts--I have felt them from all three of you. <3<3 This has made me so aware of how important people are to me. I have received flowers 4 times, my friend Nancy brought me a basket of fresh peaches and a big can of organic whipped cream, and another friend brought me a vegetable basket. But the gifts are not what has meaning. The meaning is that there are people who do care about me. When you have little or no family to speak of that is so important. I know this experience will get me to step up more for people than I have in the past.

I'm adding my name to the list of those who are not so sure about weigh-in tomorrow. I have been taking medicine that has to be taken with milk twice a day, so there are extra calories. I'm also not moving much, and last night I comforted myself with a big bowl of ice cream! Yesterday morning I weighed 133.6, which is the highest I've seen in a long time. I am looking forward to feeling closer to normal so I can get myself back to at least 130.

Sheesh, your granddaughter is adorable! And you aren't looking so bad yourself. Those arms my friend are to kill for. I inherited arms that didn't even look good when I was a young one!

Well, hubby is running errands so I thought I'd log on and at least get food in for yesterday. That has been spotty too. I will be back tomorrow to let you know what the scale says--whatever it is, and I'll try to make set some weekly goals.
