I dropped out of UAC last week, but I'm looking forward to restarting October. I fell and fractured my foot, and with work stress, family stress and all, just don't have it in me to track, exercise and log.
But UAC has helped me so much. I'm going to take a break, and get right back in. I wish everyone the best!
Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear this! I get it with the stress tho. π© I do hope you'll stick around and continue logging, just to stay on top of the habit! In any case, please get some rest!0 -

β β β Exercise today was a quick 20 min walk outside after work. (I didn't have a jacket! )
I enjoy walking and hiking. I love the outdoors, even in winter! I love nature, and the wildlife that I get to see! I'm usually listening to a book on CD, so the time passes quickly.3 -
Exercise: Rest day, sort of. Did my weight circuit at the gym and a 35 minute power walk.

I am awed by the fitness level and exercise people in this challenge are doing.
I wish it wasn't the case, but I hate exercise. However...I'm doing it, so I like to think that makes me a warrior since the mental and physical struggle is so intense every day. Lol, last week I was on a 4 mile run and I swear the entire time the only thing I thought about was how much I hated it and never, ever wanted to do it again...hey, whatever gets me through.4 -
Exercise: 60 minutes of Zumba!
Tracked. Yes!
Ate within budget: Yes, slightly under3 -

Walking, bicycling, and resistance bands workouts are the things I am working with now. I used to enjoy doing Callanetics which is very soothing but deep exercise. As soon as I can I will incorporate it back in to my fitness regime. I cannot keep up with the tempo of most aerobic types of exercise, even fast lifting is too fast for me. I prefer slower, controlled movements done correctly.
@donna25trinity Congrats on reaching goal
@Anya_000 sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you heal up well.

Tracked - Yes
Stayed within calorie budget - Yes
Exercise - 30 minutes weight machines and 20 min ARC Trainer cardio machine at Planet Fitness.
Pass Days Used - 3
Exercise - My main form of exercise is running, which I've been doing since I was 47. I'm 61 now. There are a few nearby trails around here, some paved, some with small rocks, gravel & dirt, some flat, some hilly, so plenty of variety. Currently I run 4 to 5 days a week anywhere from 1 to 7 miles at a time. Furthest distance I've run is 13.1 miles when I did a half marathon, but that was in 2011. I cut down on distance after that due to injuries. Running wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable without listening to music on my mp3 as I run. π
I also recently started back at Planet Fitness a couple of times a week for strength training, using their weight machines. Again, listening to music on my mp3 as I do weights makes it more enjoyable. π3 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 15 minutes Pilates, 80 minutes of bike riding, and 63 minutes walking
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, some left to spare today
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
I really enjoy exercise (in theory ) I was very active in sports growing up, so that is where my true passion lies.
These days, my most likely exercising is:
1) Walking. It's easy to do no matter what, and my dog loves me for it. I prefer this over all other things.
2) Biking. My husband is obsessed with biking so it's fun for us to do together.
3) Hiking. I live just outside Calgary so we have the mountains so close... gotta take advantage.
4) Yoga. I love doing the Yoga by Adriene videos on YouTube. I have noticed HUGE improvements in my strength and mobility.
I don't do as much formal strength as I should.. I do push-ups and squats on alternating days. Could do more.3 -
@snowshoe072 β I do have Yak Trax and they are great fir out walking distances. Just donβt ever try to wear them, even briefly, inside. Like wearing ice skates. βΈβΈ
The issue is usually when going in and out. To the car, car to house, car to grocery store etc.3 -

Exercised? Probably fell a little short here.
Tracked everything? No
Calories? Don't make me laugh.
I was totally off the rails today. That kind of makes me sad because I'd lost some weight and I'm pretty sure I've totally screwed myself there.
Ais had an ultrasound on her arm today. Results soon... I hope. I somehow made it throgh work today. I have to take her to have an endoscopy tomorrow. They're trying to determine if there is a physical cause for her random and chronic gagging, or if it's related to her MH issues.
I'm not a big fan of exercising. I like riding my bike, but that doesn't "feel" like exercise (well.... maybe when I'm pedaling uphill it does). Running? Well my version of it? I think I have a love/hate relationship with it. Walking? Same. I do love to dance but can't always bring myself to do it even around the house. Ah well... we don't have to leave here until just before 11, so I'm going to try to get in a ride, a run, a walk with Sienna. I bid you all goodnight.7 -

Exercise: 53 minutes mountain biking, 20 minutes elliptical, 55 minute stretching and PT exercises
Tracking: yes
Calories: under
Pass days: 16 -
Pass day - I'm visiting my son's family.
I'm getting lots of walking done but no cycling.5 -
Exercise - 15 minutes MommaStrong video, 30 minutes walking
Tracking - yes
Calories - under (though there is one thing I've been eating for the last week that I was estimating calories on, and I have not been losing weight, and I think that is the culprit -inaccurate estimation. Thankfully, I finished it last night so I can be done with that phase).
Pass days 7/3. And I have another one planned for today - taking the day off work for my wife's birthday to spend with her and probably going to eat out for lunch and dinner. I do really need to think about how often celebrations can occur. There's just a lot to celebrate in September!
For exercise:
@znaoiec , I had a dog who was a great workout buddy for many years, but as she aged she was really an impediment to exercise as she needed walks that took a long time and got nowhere. I did try exercising on the walk, but found that it distracted my dog from what she was supposed to be doing (her business!) and just made the walk take that much longer. I still would do some jumping jacks or whatever every now and then if it was really cold, but mostly used walks for thinking time.
My favorite exercise is walking in the woods. I used to get to do that for work, but it was becoming less frequent and then I switched jobs 2 years ago and now I don't get to do it for work. It's hard to find time in life to do it. My current goal, now that kids are back in school and I am still working at home, is to do that once a week. I have a plan to walk in the woods with my wife for our date day today, but we'll see if we do it with the rain.
I started my current weight loss and exercise efforts in May 2019, right when I switched the job. Since then I have done:
My current exercise routine is MommaStrong videos every workday, right after checking in here. MommaStrong is a great program, focused on getting back the strength you lose with pregnancy. I have actually found, though, that is has helped me with body problems I had long before pregnancy. It has given me functional strength for my daily life - like being able to climb stairs without holding the hand rail and getting on and off the floor. Also has helped decrease the pain I was in. They put out a new video every day, 15 minutes (called the D15) and also have a bunch of special programs.
I also walk 30 minutes a day, at least on the weekdays. On the weekends I make sure I get outside some, but often I don't get to actually walk - standing around at the playground or whatever instead. It's hardly exercise - not a brisk walk even, but it is essential for my mental health. Back when I worked in an office, I had a route I'd take around the office neighborhood. Now that I am working at home, I have a few routes I take around the neighborhood.
It's not really much exercise but it is enough for now and I have been keeping it up for almost 2.5 years!

β β β I used to be in a sweet spot exercising at my local gym. Then the pandemic hit. I have noticed a big fall off in my physical fitness. I seem to need group accountability to accomplish fitness goals, such as this group. I used to enjoy seeing my friends at the group fitness classes. I have been taking notes on all of your suggestions for online solutions.
Thanks for the topic.5 -

Thanks a bunch!!! Now to the hard part of keeping it off. He he. Xox1 -
@Anya_000 I hope you start feeling better soon and your foot injury heals quickly!
Congrats on hitting your goal weight @donna25trinity
@bradkcrew you are indeed a warrior. Not all exercise is fun, particularly while doing it, but most continue because they enjoy the feeling afterwards, or start to feel more alive as they stretch through some soreness. Something small like that which makes it worthwhile and keeps them coming back. If you're not feeling any of that, you might want to look into it in the event of any possible hormone imbalances or something to explain it. Keep going, you have been very impressive!1 -
He he love that meme @Mrs_Hoffer! Lol!!Thanks for all ur support over time boss lady! Also learnt a hell of alot from u too..I now stretch daily after seeing that u do stretching/ yoga daily!Bless you my friend. Donna. Xox1

Brilliant! Thank you so much for this idea @snowshoe072 β but Iβll use a pair of boots! For so many years I have been challenged with issues about which shoes/boots I could wear (fused ankle and prior, a fixed AFO). Now though, I could do this!0 -

Hello!
Yesterday was a pass day for me. I've lost count at this point, it's def more than 3 though. LOL. I was over by under 100 cals though, so not a bad pass day.
August/September has been quite the ride. I'm so looking forward to October. My BFF's mom died Sunday, so there are lots of feelings this week I'm trying not to eat and a lot of routine disruptions as BFF asks us to spend time with her, the services, etc. We're 38, friends since 12, and 38 is too young to lose your Mama. Next week I'm traveling for work. Fingers crossed the next two follow ups I have with my doc don't snowball and make October stupid too. I can't wait until I stop feeling like a giant excuse machine and can get back to my routine, because I desperately need my routine back mentally. At least my arm isn't swollen and sore still and I can do push ups/planks again - those the vein is still hard which is super creepy.
Speaking of routines, the gym I go to had a new consultant company come in to make operations more efficient and they think the classes I take 3 times a week that are the cornerstone of my routine may get removed from the schedule so I have my fingers crossed that doesn't happen. Being on the floor doing stuff by myself where people I don't know can talk to me sounds terrifying. Prices for personal training are going through the roof too, so I probably have to give that up. Maybe I'm going back to exclusively running. LOL.
Sorry I do nothing but whine lately. I promise I'm not just naturally a buzz kill. Well, most days. Unless you're like breaking fire code, then I'm the ultimate party pooper.6
