Anti-inflammatory diet to treat scoliosis pain

Anyone experiment with this?
The idea is that the stress & pulling on the spine creates inflammation, and eating foods that reduce inflammation may help relieve the ache/pain. Diets like these have been found to reduce pain in patients with rheumatoid arthritis as well. Anti-inflammatory diets vary but seem to always include:
- dark green vegetables
- tart cherries
- blueberries, raspberries, strawberries
- salmon & fatty fish
- walnuts
- celery
- flaxseed oil
- green tea
- cayenne pepper, ginger, turmeric, garlic
- papaya
- avocado
And may exclude:
- fried food
- processed food
- sweets
- citrus fruits
- corn
- red meat
- dairy
- tomatos

I'm guessing this won't work the same as it does for people with inflammatory diseases like RA because those are caused by the body attacking it's own cells, versus the inflammation in scoliosis being the result of physical strain. I
However I successfully control my IBS-D with diet, so there's definitely validity to diet/inflammation control!0 -
Hello!
While I could not commit to a full diet change because of money issues, I did try to include more of the recommended foods. From what I found, there was SOME PROGRESS in pain relief. It could be a placebo effect, or real, but either way I felt a bit better. The biggest change I made was drinking 2 cups of cinnamon/green tea every day. My back seemed a little more resilient to having to sit at a desk in school all day.
As for the foods, it was hard to say since it's difficult to limit the human diet to specific foods. But emotionally I felt better about my health knowing I was eating greens, walnuts, oats (in Kashi granola bars), almond milk, cherries, etc.0
