Over the last few months, I have drawn a link between my hypermobility and scoliosis. I have been (kind of) diagnosed with Type 3 Ehlers-Danlos Syndrom. I say kind of, because with Type 3 there is no genetic test. But I have found that I do in fact have many of the symptoms, including: Scoliosis Joint hypermobility Joint…
Scoliosis affects everyone differently. Let's use this topic to compare notes, and find people with similar situations!
So, I'm being told that due to my scoliosis, the right side of my hip leans forward and this causes some pretty bad pain after a run. I'm due to see a physical therapist within the next month, and I'm anxious to see what they have to offer! I want to run a marathon in just 18 weeks and I really need to get this treated!
Has anyone here had or know of anyone who has had spinal fusion? I am facing that and would really love some words from those who have had it done. Thanks

A factor in maintaining healthy cartilage and joint health." Take 1 pill 3x a day with meals. I first heard of this from a nurse who recommended I take it to avoid post-workout…
I am heading down to my lowest weight that I've been in my adult life (had my surgery when I was 16) and I'm seeing my deformed rib cage pop out now that it's not covered by fat- it's kinda cool!!!! In its own way.... =P
Hi all. Here's my scoliosis story... I had surgery for pretty bad curvature at 16. I can't remember the #'s now (I'm looking it up), but I remember the docs saying it was really bad and they had to operate immediately! Before the surgery I had SO much pain, some of it being debilitating and stopping me dead in my tracks.…
My mom, who also has scoliosis, was sent by her dr. to physical therapy and she noticed that they were taking scoliosis more seriously in their working with her so she encouraged me to get a referral for PT. I went to my first session yesterday and it did seem MUCH more scientific and specialized for scoliosis than what…
Anyone experiment with this? The idea is that the stress & pulling on the spine creates inflammation, and eating foods that reduce inflammation may help relieve the ache/pain. Diets like these have been found to reduce pain in patients with rheumatoid arthritis as well. Anti-inflammatory diets vary but seem to always…
