Goodness! The days are going by way too fast. It's hard to believe that October is more than half over!!
This is our mid-month shout out/check in. It's a chance to recognize the long list of members who are well on their way to the Winner’s Circle or UAC Champions, and also a chance to catch up with a few who we've been missing and hope will make their way back to us soon! It's important to stick around and stay with the UAC even when we exceed our 3 Pass Days.
So here’s a middle-of-the-month shout out to our great list of members who are on track for the Winner's Circle or Champions List. It's exciting to see all the names below and to see the new faces mixed in with our UAC veterans!

I promise not to do double posts every day. I did step on the scale this morning. Up less than 4 pounds. No happy about them, but I thought it was worse.
Not the reason for posting. Just sharing that my pre-tracking/planning if going to be dicey today. Even fitting in "pure" exercise my be off target.
My original day was to start with a trip to the zoo with my 34 year old son and girlfriend, 30 year old daughter, son-in-law, and my grandson. then rest of the day working on the move and fairly controllable. Well, zoo is still on (a gift to me), but turns out the 911 bit from last night turned into my father broke his hip while walking (you can read yesterday if you are curious). so from zoo, I will be spending some undetermined amount of time at the hospital. will need to make sure my mom is cared for and eating. Parents house looks like a hoarder's and they are in denial about it. EMT's could barely get my father from the house. Hubby is out of state until late wednesday night.
Anyhow, going to try and make best choices and track and we'll see how it shakes out. Walking the zoo for 2 hours may end up being counted for my exercise.

I am home. It will take me a few days to “recover” from vacation and get back in the swing of things. I had a great time - biked 220 miles of the Katy trail in Missouri. Unfortunately it rained 4 of 5 riding days and the trail was a sloppy muddy mess. I kept telling myself to focus on the scenery, on the fact that I’m healthy and able to do this, and how much I love being outdoors. Of the 115 people that started the ride on Sunday, only 70 were still there by Friday. I’m really proud of myself for powering through and sticking with it because I nearly gave up Thursday morning. But I met some wonderful people and we are already talking about meeting up on another ride next year.
@SModa61 - sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he recovers.12 -
Super impressive biking @biketheworld and great to hear that it resulted in new friends and a plan to return!1

@biketheworld WOWser that is more than just "wet and muddy". I would have weenied out after the first day. But look at you turning it all around... congrats on a great trip!
@SModa61 what a horrific situation. I have to say you have a full plate going on. Your parent's generation is similar to mine and they have a different mindset about calling for help. I hope your Dad is going to be ok and you can start to get things sorted. In the meantime TRY to enjoy the zoo and say hi to the BIG kitties for me.
@Mrs_Hoffer I hope the tickle in your throat is gone by now. I was a bit worried I might be getting something but realized it was mostly the change from HOT and HUMID to DRY and COLD here that made me feel that way. Have fun hiking...(PS - your ice cream walk did inspire me to go 10 today)4 -
✅ - Exercise 20+ Minutes: 105minutes, dancing/strength/tai chi

I spent time this afternoon packing up the motorhome ready to go away for a few days. We’re not going far – about 2.5 hour drive down to Cornwall – and the forecast is looking rainy. I’ll be using my phone to check in.

Exercise was a clean and replace of basically everything in one of the kids rooms today.3 -
Welcome back @biketheworld. Sounds like it was an awesome experience and kudos for finishing in spite of the nasty weather.
Congrats @Katiecan2021 for getting yourself back on track!
Yes x 3 for me today. I'm learning how to enjoy my favourite restaurant dishes and still stay within my calorie budget.3 -
@SModa61 hugs and good thoughts with you hope your dad recovers soon. It’s hard when our parents get older more to worry about but somehow we get it done remember to get your own rest.
Tracked logged and went for a walk at the fairground with hubby not as fast as I liked but my knees are screaming I think it’s the weather change. Ended my day with trying to learn a new song but gave up try again later. At least my fingers know A Horse with No Name.4 -
@summerskier Thanks bON, did the zoo and had some nice family time, which I am grateful for. Time is a gift I enjoy the most! Zoo was small but there were a couple "kitties". The pack of wolves was probably the best. Spent the rest of the day cleaning urine from my parents carpet, unsuccessfully. Then hospital, were I learn he is going to surgery shortly. No one told us. Then the surgery never happened when the day ran on too long. Now surgery is tomorrow evening. Had to take my mother home, square her away. then drive home, then field messages and phone calls. Now checking in with UAC and heading for the couch. I am sucked dry. I know many here have already dealt with these troubles. It's just new for me.
@TerriRichardson112 Thanks. I have told my kids to keep me in line. I am so concerned that this is who I will become as well.5 -

Exercise - yes, ran a 5K this morning
Tracking - yes
Calories - yes, barely
2/3 Pass days
I really appreciate the encouragement from this group! I’ve really been on track for the last six months and then all of a sudden seem to be off track with my eating. I know I can do this but for some reason have lost my motivation. UAC is certainly keeping me in the game. For that, I am grateful.3 -
Exercise:
Ugh, plans for a full day hike thwarted again; dreary, rainy weather all day. As much as I loathe weights I have consistently made myself go to the gym at least twice a week for months, but this week it almost didn't happen. Then suddenly, an hour before the gym closed, I found some force pulling me to the car. So at the 11th hour I pulled off my weight circuit and managed to fit in 20 minutes of uphill forced march on the treadmill before they kicked me out.

@Mrs_Hoffer thanks for the shout out and sorry for the radio silence… a couple of crazy days threw me off the wagon. I used my third pass on Thursday and another on Friday, so I’m officially out of the winners circle… but I got in a lot of workouts this weekend. I anticipate next week is going to be tough for me too but I’m going to still try to get back on track… hopefully I’ll be able to make it all the way through the month in November. I will do this! I just have to get up and back on track every time I fall down. Cheering the rest of you on!!!6

Track: nope ... quit as soon as I was over
Calories: nope
Exercise: yes- Treadmill: 33 min / 2.04 mi
As expected I went over on calories but it was nice to see my partner's family. If I hadn't had dessert I would have probably been OK. Tomorrow I'll be back on track.
