October 3rd
✅✅✅
Functional strength class at gym.
Kicks mileage: 10
Pass days remaining: 3
Freggies: 6
I was hoping for a higher freggies number but it turns out dividing my chili into 6 servings was just waaay too much chili per serving volume wise so I made it 12 servings and I get credit for 2 freggies for the chili instead of 4. Oh well. I topped it with half an avocado and snuck another one in there. It’s still exponentially better than I have been doing on average so I’m taking it as a win 🍐🥬🍎🌶🌶🥑
Two other wins I’ve had between last night and today. (I wanted to mention this yesterday but forgot. Lol.) I went to an impromptu bonfire at BFFs house with some of her family. I knew there would be snack food. I told her before hand “I’m coming with ginger lemon tea, that’s all I’m drinking, and I’m not eating anything”. That’s exactly what happened! I did not eat the cookies.
Today I baked hubs (who spent the whole day suffering through cleaning and closing up the pool) banana bread and I had the tiniest of pieces to ensure it tasted ok because it baked weird and that’s it! I did not eat half the loaf myself. Huzzah!
Between those two things, I’m feeling like maybe I’ve gotten my mojo back… 😎12 -

@victorious55 Those are great goals for the month. I also have a "kitchen closed" rule for myself. It's funny how that can work. I am going to steal one of your goals for myself this month too and plan to be a Champion if I don't make the Winner's Circle. No disappearing for a few days if I've fallen off the wagon. I also plan on logging all no matter how painfully embarrassing it is. Maybe that will be my motivation for sticking to the plan this month lol!4

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes- Walk to/from brunch: 4.55 mi round trip
We walked to brunch this morning as planned. Per Apple watch I burned about 400 calories (active 300) which I was happy about since the meal was approximately 800. No knee pain at all today.
@WhatMeRunning You would probably have appreciated this place. They had a whole keto friendly menu with more than a dozen items which I ordered from mostly out of curiosity. I had a breakfast pizza: crust of cheese/almond flour and toppings were bacon, two kinds of sausage, mozzarella and two eggs (I chose poached). The crust was a bit spongy but tasted better than I expected. I probably wouldn't order it again because it was too salty for me with all the meat and cheese. I was only able to eat about half of it.7 -

Making significant progress with sorting/deleting/organizing all photos etc. Will take awhile yet, but the things I have found make it feel like a treasure hunt🎉6 -
Congrats to all the champions!
Exercise- yes 25 minutes of Pilates and 20 minute walk
Calories- pass day
Tracking - yes
I ended the day feeling pretty off. We had friends round for dinner so I had planned a pass day but kept up all other habits like not snacking and didn’t think I was doing too badly. I had my first glass of wine in about six weeks and half a slice of a rich chocolate cake and spent the rest of the evening feeling terrible, couldn’t post. I felt sick from the rich food and my stomach felt awful. I was up in the night a couple of times with an upset stomach. This was how I spent the last two weeks of my covid symptoms - with diarrhoea and having to get up multiple times every night so it’s really galling to go back to it. I’ve never suffered from digestive issues before covid and I really hoped I was over it! In the positive I am motivated by feeling this ill to go back to a simple, less rich diet with no booze! On the downside, only very gentle exercise will suit for today.11 -

Today is another special recognition day.
We want to congratulate our UAC Champions. These are the members who consistently post and stay accountable within the UAC regardless of their number of Pass Days. Being accountable for one’s daily exercise, calorie goals and logging are foundations for developing healthy habits. Congratulations to the following:

It’s wonderful to see so many of our champions returning for the October challenge.
Woop! Well done champions. It's almost harder than being in the winners circle as it's so easy to just write off the month and stop turning up. Excellent work everyone.
Yes x3

@Jana_2020 - “A little strategic planning was necessary though: lunch was just a protein coffee in order to save enough calorie budget to finish my Thai food leftovers. *sigh* A gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do!”
I think that’s a win! You planned ahead, didn’t deprive yourself of something you love, way to go!
@mshawski - your self control and determination are amazing - you are an inspiration! it certainly does sound like you have your mojo back. Did the chili taste as good as it looked?
@readyornot1234 - how exciting that you’re moving into maintenance. Sounds like you have a good plan.
@RangerRickL - I get tired just thinking how much work you and Rose have done getting the farm ready. Has it sold already or are you moving out and then listing it afterwards?
I had another 3 “yes” day. Went to a granddaughter’s birthday party and did not indulge in a cupcake.
Pass days: 0/35 -
@Katiecan2021 I have found that as I have stopped eating fatty foods and drinking alcohol, when I go to have a treat my stomach usually makes me pay for it. It is one way to be motivated to stay on track! It's very unfortunate, though. I actually had a recent bad experience with a really good chocolate cake myself.5

Exercise - 15 minute MommaStrong, 20 minute walk in the rain
Tracking - Preplanned and stuck to the plan, except I skipped part of my afternoon snack because I wasn't that hungry
Calories - Under
Pass Days - 0
This was first week of trying more calories on the weekend, fewer during the week - something I had never considered purposefully planning for until someone in this group suggested it. I lost 1.6 during my low calorie weekdays and gained back 1 during my higher calorie weekend, for a total loss of 0.6. It seems like maybe this might actually work!6 -

@LazyBlondeChef - Wow! My mind is spinning a bit about that cheese and almond flour crust, first I've heard of that one! It does sound a bit sodium heavy (which is usually OK by me) 😁2

I did 10 mins on the elliptical in addition to stretching and mindfulness. tracked and have stayed in the range. No sugar today. I did try to make something with monkfruit as a substitute and cannot stand it. I'd rather do without!
So great to see you here this month. Hope all is well with you and ur health! U hve been missed. Xo1 -
Congrats to all of the Champions! The most important things are sticking with your long term plans, not giving up when things go awry, and making course adjustments as necessary to keep those long term goals in front of you! It's not a race to a finish line, it's a lifelong journey. Honoring Champions here is the best part of UAC in my opinion.5

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? No

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
I'm happy that I at least tracked even when I knew it was going to be a pass day (2). Most of the time, if I realize it's going to be a pass day, I just stop tracking because it's a pass either way. Not thrilled with pass weekend to start the month, but lots of room for improvement.5
