We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Today's Topic - What are you eating? How’s it working plan wise? Food finds?

Have to say I’m in a rut. I have a significant ability to eat the same stuff a lot. But I’m getting to the point I can’t look at another salad. If it would cool off a couple of degrees here in south Florida I’d make some zero point soup.
I started making the plan with DW this morning. She’s going to coach me. As soon as I post this I start shopping for a soup pot. The bigger the better.
So I guess this topic is completely a matter of self interest. Hoping to get some new ideas but I’ve got none to offer.0 -
I am not in a rut - I’m in my groove, but it happens to be very deep. When I find something that works for me, I stick with it.
My breakfast is muesli - strawberries, Greek yogurt and Fiber OneOriginal, washed down with good coffee. It’s got protein and fiber, and keeps me full till lunch. Otherwise, my #1 alternative is three eggs scrambled and three slices of Canadian bacon. I’ve also got frozen waffles and some pancake mix as options. I can eat the muesli every day as long as I know I have options.
Lunch is sliced turkey on Pepperidge Farms Light 7 Grain bread, low-fat Hellman’s, a sliced of fat free Kraft cheddar, and +/- 4 ounces of sliced turkey breast. I’ll usually have either two hard boiled eggs or a Dole No Sugar Added fruit cup with it. Alternative #1 is a cup of fat free cottage chees with a fruit cup mixed in.
Dinner? Maybe a grilled burger from the butcher, grilled chicken, or grilled hot dogs. Sometimes it’s take-out from a local seafood restaurant (baked haddock and a side of broccoli.) Sometimes it’s an Italian takeout (half for one meal, half later.). Sometimes it’s a meatball sub or chicken bomb from a local sub shop.
The key is I have options I’m comfortable with. Because of that, I don’t feel deprived in my choices.0
