Can coconut flour sub for almond without affecting taste?

Somehow I've recently become allergic to tree nuts. If I eat one I start coughing, wheezing, having an asthma attack and runny nose. The reaction subsides after about 15 minutes of using my inhaler (multiple times) but obviously I'm going to have to cut out nuts.
It seems LOTS of paleo food recommendations involve nuts as snacks or almond butter, or oils or almond flour etc. so I need to work around this. I've never used Coconut flour, will it change the taste of the food if I use coconut flour in recipes that call for almond flour?

Keep in mind that coconuts are tree nuts, as well, so you may very well be allergic to it, too.
There are other things you can use, though, such as tapioca flour (aka tapioca starch) and potato starch. If you're not opposed to some grains, there's also rice flour, though I've found it on the gritty side. Tapioca flour is roughly a one-to-one conversion to wheat flour, though it's often blended with other flours to make an "all-purpose flour" blend that mimics the properties of wheat flour.
As for oils, I've found that most oils can be substituted one-for-one for each other. So, if a recipe calls for a certain amount of coconut oil, you can use the same amount of butter and get the same result.0
