When do y'all find time to drink water? I can't really drink much during the day because I don't have many bathroom breaks at work, but if I drink in the evening I'm up and down all night!

I drink water all throughout the day. I’m retired, but when I worked, I could go to the restroom whenever I needed. You have my sympathy; restricting my breaks would have been difficult.

I drink a couple of 12 ounce glasses shortly after I get up most days (first one with my thyroid meds), then have water (or something close to it, like cold unsweetened matcha) beside me all day if sitting, take a refillable water bottle and drink from it during workouts. I'm retired now, but when I was working, I carried a water bottle (with a strap) around with me most of the time . . . but I wasn't restricted as to bathroom breaks, and the pattern of my days included a lot of meetings, interspersed with sitting in a cubicle working on a computer, so sipping water was viable.

In my experience, increasing water intake slowly is more likely to lead to bladder capacity adaptation, as compared with going from little hydration to lots very quickly.

FWIW, I'm going to pelvic floor PT currently for some urinary issues (not because I drink too much or the classic muscular weakness, it's some weird thing - I'm old, probably that's a factor?). Physical therapist who specializes in this stuff says it's most desirable to drink smaller amounts frequently, vs. big amounts more intermittently, for most people. 🤷‍♀️

I had to laugh when I saw this post as I just finished up my first colonoscopy and literally did nothing but drink liquids all day Monday! I don’t drink enough water and need to pay more attention to this. I drink at least 500 ml after working out, but it should be 1000 ml. I do best when I substitute sparkling water with a splash of juice for my evening wine. I need to do better! Thank you for posting!

If you are allowed to keep a water bottle where you work, drink about 30 minutes before each break. Then again with dinner. Stop about 2 hours before sleep.
