LOL almost 50 years ago I bought a recipe book from Amish country...it had a recipe for Shoo-Fly Pie!! Then there is the song...Shoo Fly don't bother me! So for some reason Shoo came to mind this morning and I had to make sure it was a valid word.

When I first heard people using X-mas in place of Christmas I was upset thinking people did not want to use the word Christ but I learned differently. You probably know the difference but I looked it up and this is what Google says: "In the Greek alphabet, X is the symbol for the letter 'chi. ' Chi (or X) is the first letter in the Greek word for Christ. In the early days of the Christian church, Christians used the letter X as a secret symbol to indicate their membership in the church to others." Maybe some people are using the X to get rid of Christ but according to this, they are still using what the early Christians did for the word Christ.
