Track: yes
Calories: yes
Exercise: yes- Treadmill: 30 min / 1.68 mi
- Full body warm up 5 min
- Day 13 of EPIC II - Chest & Triceps workout (+ cool down) 45 min
As far as 2021 accomplishments I'd say that I've been able to maintain my weight in about a four pound range since around April. I'd still like to lose another 8lbs or so in 2022 but it's not absolutely imperative that I do so. If I can lose a few more inches via exercise that will work for me just as well.5 -

In 2021, I began realizing the program works even if you miss a day, even if you can't exercise, even if you can't resist the chocolate covered toffee one day and even if it at times it seems like it doesn't. It does...
22 down, 4 to go.

Accomplishments for the year re: health
Lost 4.5 pounds - really 6.5, because I got a new scale in April that is 2 pounds higher. It's not a lot, but as my tagline says, slow and steady. I've been working on this weight loss thing seriously since May 2019 and have lost 26 pounds all together. As I approach my maintenance weight it is definitely getting harder.
As part of that effort, started tracking on MFP in February and joined UAC in September, both of which have been VERY helpful.
Since the world shut down in March 2020 I have been doing some flailing about how to get my basic needs for socialization, sunlight, exercise met on a routine basis so that I don't feel extremely depressed (settling for moderately, which I feel is maybe appropriate right now). I think early this year I found a routine that works, and have been able to keep that up and feel OK most of the time. The routine includes: planning my meals the night before, morning check in here, morning MommaStrong exercise, daily walk (sometimes with a friend), phone calls with family and friends a few times a week.
The only exception being when my autoimmune thyroid condition is in a flare, which happened a few times for a few days, which I can handle, but happened in April-May for 6 weeks, triggered by the COVID vaccine. When it's a flare I feel awful and I need 9 hours of sleep a night instead of 7.5 and that time means I don't have time for the little things that keep me sane (also I don't have energy to want to do them). I still need to figure out how to keep myself feeling OK in that situation - I think I will need to take medical leave from work next time that happens.4 -

I think for 2022 that I am going to work my calories a little looser. I have always set a limit and tried to stay close but I think as long as I stay below 2k total that I can work within that limit a lot less rigidly.
@SummerSkier
Are you saying you’ll set a 2K weekly or monthly plan?1 -

“With that in mind, what accomplishment(s) in 2021 are you celebrating?”
Yearly avg daily steps > 10K ✔️
Yearly avg daily exercise minutes > 90 ✔️
Yearly avg daily calories < 2,100✔️
Oct-Dec avg daily calories < 2,000 ✔️
Yearly avg resting HR:
2018 61
2019 59
2020 57
2021 55✔️
Protein ✔️Better than 2020
Fiber ✔️Better than 2020
Sat Fat✔️Much better in Dec.🎉
Weight- yearly avg daily weight 2021. 158.21 BMI < 24.9✔️
Average wt the past 3 years 156.73 ✔️🎉🎉🎉
I know this is very “number-y” but that’s how I roll. I check the averages above throughout the year & gently improve them or get back on track.
I know that the way I’ve re-gained my weight every other time was by verrrry gradual increases - hardly noticeable.
Many thanks to @SummerSkier who in this group or one in Maintenance discussions a while back shared the trends she had seen in those who did not maintain…creeping, shifting maintenance range up, etc. I saw myself. Summer, you helped me wake up & start tightening up again.
Very grateful. Thank you!
So I paid extra attention to my numbers. Very pleased to have edged downwards these past few months. It took attention. It took tracking.
I am also celebrating an improved sleep habit since July, and a significant reading habit as part of that.
In my creative pursuits, I am honing in on the making that brings me the most joy. And I finally accepted I was retired.
Happy 2022, folks! I’m glad we can cheer each other on this journey!

Hi UACers, I don't think I've posted since before Christmas. Taking a break from tracking and relying more this last week in 2021 on hunger cues and mindful eating. Will start tracking again in the new year.
Accomplishments in 2021:
On this day in 2020 I weighed 140 lbs. This morning I weigh 133.2 lbs!
Most of this was lost between Sept this year (when I started UAC) and now. Before then I had been hovering between 138 and 140ish for most of 2021.
Running mileage so far this year is 751.64 miles. (Not bad for a 61 year old. In 2011 at the age of 51 my total miles for the year was 1200!) Haven't run since 12-23 due to Christmas and then catching DS1's cold (or possibly Omicron--he tested negative but there's always the chance he didn't put the swab up high enough for a good sample...). Today I'm feeling better than the past 2 days, but still not feeling well enough to run. If I feel up to a run tomorrow or on New Year's Eve, it'll have to be our treadmill because we have had snow on the ground here in the Seattle area since Sunday.
Congratulations to you all for your accomplishments this year, and congrats to those of you who have been able to stick to the 3 UAC rules during the holidays!7 -

Accomplishments for 2021: I started (restarted?) this weight loss/healthiness journey on September 7 of this year and have lost a little over 22 pounds, have done at least 30 minutes of deliberate exercise 95% of those days, all without feeling that I've had to make sacrifices in my life. This period now is a really tough one for me as I tend to peter out in my enthusiasm and diligence when it comes to tracking and eating within calories after the initial 3-4 months of success. I am thankful that I found this group to help me get over that hump.6 -

Despite the falter in MFP sign-in & food logging (7.5 mos mia between mid March and last days of Oct) - the Exercise didn't lapse.
Dec 29 2020 - Dec 28 2021: total steps 2,721,832 (daily avg 7,457 / daily minimum target 6000)
Dec 29 2020 - Dec 28 2021: total miles 1,173 (daily avg 3.21)
Since I came back onboard in the closing days of Oct, I have had only UAC 6 pass days in my 60 sign-in-every-day Streak
So the good eating / logging habit was there - just waiting on the required trigger to reassert itself.6 -

Retired from my practice and made self care my priority for first time in my life.
