Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Today was a close call – I went up to see my DIL and children which involves nearly 4 hours driving altogether. But I did a few minutes cardio first thing (I try to get 1,000 steps done before breakfast) and quite a bit more after I got home. I took and cooked lunch so I was able to track that and I didn’t stay for tea/dinner, came home and had a light meal.
So, no bike ride but my steps are over 10,000 and about 30 minutes was cardio workout. I shall probably get a bit more activity in before I go to bed.

You are so right about habits. They're such a critical and important foundation to build a healthy lifestyle on. And it's amazing how quickly they can fall apart if you don't stay vigilant about them. Having been sick for the better part of 2 weeks now, some of my habits have begun to fall off a little. But hopefully I've turned a corner now and am on my way to feeling better, and can get myself back on track! Lol. I have continued to log my food everyday, but I've not been pre-logging as I used to. Fortunately, my appetite hasn't been very good, so I haven't had a problem staying under (except the Pass Day with my Bible Study group's potluck, Lol).
It's hard to believe that we're almost half way through December! Where has this year gone!!9 -

@Mrs_Hoffer absolutely correct regarding habits I find if I slack it is hard to get back into the “groove” of getting things done I have struggled with this since just after Thanksgiving somehow I get it done but it’s just harder. I do think that at this busy time of the year it’s so important to make time to keep our habits strong.7

3 yeses again today.
@Jana_2020 - so so true. Even though I can’t claim to have 100% victory over the habit of tracking, it has absolutely become a habit to check in here every day and I’ll take that as a win!9 -

Tomorrow is surgery. Been making the family's Christmas candies. Treading close on the calories everyday this week. Stress baking and tasting. However I have lots of premade things so the family can enjoy their favorites for Christmas.8 -
Does your local public library have a "download e-books or audiobooks" app? (my local library uses Libby) OR is borrowing from the public library available?
That's how I got a hold of "Tiny Habits" by BJ Fogg. If you google it, you will find summaries and reviews, and even BJ's website and downloadable tools etc.
The content might be valuable to both identify what triggers and habits you already have AND make plans-strategies for replacements / improvements.
Atomic Habits by James Clear is also good (I personally prefer Tiny Habits over all, but that is me)

BJ Fogg also has a free 5-day course in his website4
