I think I’m on pass day 6 now. I’m exercising every day but as I haven’t been tracking I don’t know my calorie count. It’s difficult when I don’t prepare my own meals but I should at least attempt it. I’m also seeing some bad habits creeping back in.
This month is hard but I’m making a promise to myself to track daily no matter what… before I start eating what’s in front of me!4 -

I like the habits focus for today. @jamcnewman thanks for the link to that group. Looks like lots of you are on it! I am very tempted to join but I really don't have time for more than 1 group. But I am really inspired by how that group thinks about habits - being very specific about how and why and when you are doing it, and the idea of rewarding yourself as you are setting up a habit. I am going to keep thinking about all of that.
I do think I have several healthy habits in my life right now that I am very attached to, though.2 -
Yes, yes and yes
Walking
In regard to motivation vs habits, my morning walking has become such a habit that it feels like it is part of my dna. I had an early meeting and I set my alarm for 5 am instead of my normal 6 am so I could fit in the morning walking.2 -

I just wanted to post really fast, I don't have my other detailed posting ready but I wanted to post really fast because I am afraid if I don't do it right now, it might not get done today. Its a busy day ahead of me today! I am disqualified for December, but I have used less pass days than I did in November.3 -
Pass day 8 for me. Travel from the east coast back to California and probably the first day I haven't gotten my exercise in for several months (unless I can count running for the trains and lugging our luggage up and down stairs). I probably would have been okay on calories except that I had a carb binge when we got home at 11pm last night. I don't know why, but flying always makes me super hungry when I get on the ground and get home. Need to go grocery shopping since we have absolutely nothing to eat in the house except carbs!4

@Jana_2020
Thanks Jana for this opening quotation and reminder. I participate in another group called “Building Healthy Habits on MFP and (like the three goals in UAC) this is exactly what we focus on. All of these opportunities to build and reinforce habits are really helping me to establish a good foundation.

@jamcnewman Thank you so much for this! I've just joined; I'll add it to my list of things to review this week while I am enjoying my time off.1
