Well, a slight reduction is okay with me, especially this time of year. And, yesterday I was at my daughter's home to help with the baby because she started back working (online) and had meetings. They hired a nanny, but she isn't starting quite yet, so we are all pitching in until she does. Hubby went on Monday so I could work out with my trainer. <3 He's so cute . . . and very much more involved with the grandkids than he was with our own children. I appreciate it, and so does my trainer as she gets paid, lol.

We had such a nice Thanksgiving . . hubby's brother is doing so much better this year with his health problems than he was last year. Hubby took leftovers to him the day after, and he loved it. My daughter made the yams and made her famous brownies, and I did the rest. My grandmother's stuffing recipe is always a big hit. We started putting out the Christmas decorations the next day (taking away the Thanksgiving ones) and then our schedule got so interrupted that we haven't finished yet. . we had theater tickets last night ("Mean Girls") and today workers are in the house fixing a few things for us. Playdate this afternoon and family zoom tonight . . so Christmas decor will have to wait some more. Fortunately, our neighborhood HOA puts up lights on all the houses and some of the trees. Lois, it sounds like your lights and decorations are fabulous, with deer in the yard etc. I'm sure Rhea loves it. :)

Sarah, I know what you mean about the hubby trip that occupies their entire world, lol. That's the Alaska trip for mine. I get so tired of hearing about it. But, he loves it. I hope he can continue to enjoy it for some years to come.

Kelly, I had to chuckle at the "hockey, hockey, and more hockey . . . and dogs" comment :D I remember those days so well. Not hockey, but that's kids and the stage you're in right now.

Well, I'm off for a quick cardio workout now that the workmen are gone.

Steady as she goes, and as Sheesh said, anything but a gain this time of year is a win. I was so relieved to see that that 2.4 pound spike lasted for only a day. There appears to be no rhyme or reason for it, so I just have to accept that that sometimes happens and unlike days of old not get the "what the heck, nothing I do works" attitude and instead keep doing my best with intake and activity.

In terms of my goals for the week, my 7-day step average was more than 12K this week (goal of 10K of more met), and I made my 1800 calorie burn goal on 5 of the 7 days. With floor exercise I missed my goal of doing that twice. I only did that once using one of those free videos offered by our cable package. My utter lack of rhythm makes even those awkward and kind of funny. (At least I can laugh at myself!) :D

Sorry to be so late in the day logging in, but today was a busy one. I had a dental appointment this morning and a veterinarian appointment this afternoon and I met my new walking buddy at 5:30, so every chunk of the day had interruptions. I also paid bills and tried (unsuccessfully) to check on my credit card that expires at the end of the month. When I called the recording said a new card has been mailed and asked if I wanted to activate. I said no and asked for customer service. No problem, except then I got a recording saying that my wait would be at least one hour! Really. You would think if they have customers waiting more than an hour for help that they'd hire some more agents. My walking buddy said she had a similar thing happen when she tried to call her internet provider.

Hubby made it safely home and Sheesh, yes he is still talking about it. He's also trying to catch up with work and put up the zillion things he took and it's all making him a little cranky. I found myself thinking that those days alone were not so bad. But of course they would be if they went on too long. However, having 5 days to myself was kind of nice.

Well, it's almost 11:30 here on the east coast, so I'm going to sign off and will check back tomorrow. My goals for next week are to continue getting an average of 12K steps a day, do some type of floor or strength building exercises at least twice, and hit that 1800 burn mark at least 5 days. I started to say 6 days, but I don't think I'm going to make it today, which is day 1, so I'll stick with 5 for one more week. I know when we travel and are at my sister's, my steps will go down to almost nothing and intake will be tricky, so I'm also setting a goal to head out down there at 128 or lower. But losing just one pound in three weeks is hard for me, so it will take some perseverance.

Well, I had chinese food the night before and LATE so I was not surprised. I've been back at the 227ish range yesterday and today...so it was the sodium and eating so late.

I've been insanely busy this week. At the office for three days instead of the normal 2 and had 2 new hire set ups that didn't go as smoothly as normal (bizarre incident where Verizon issued the same phone numbers to two different accounts and since I didn't set ours up right away, the other got the number and it took over an hour trying to figure out why the phones wouldn't activate. It got resolved and all went well after. Caught up on the paperwork side of my desk and I feel like I can breathe again. Just the anxiety when I don't have time to "process" paperwork or review what's there. So I'm back at my home office today. More steps than normal because I was running everywhere at the office so there's an upside. Hubby accidentally failed to change the setting from me to him and so my averages are way out of wack this week...though I did see a massive reduction when I weighed in again - even with the slight gain - see finding the silver lining. Anyway, busy weekend finishing decorating and getting my house back in order as well as a wedding for two TKD students (one started when he was five and the other when she was 12 - he's a couple of years older than her). So excited to see them finally get married. They've been living together for years it seems.

I'll jump back later to catch up on comments!!

Oh Mylanta I'm old and out of shape!! Ok. Hubby and I attended a wedding on Saturday for two tkd kids. It was a small venue and small gathering (half of the attendees were TKD people) and it was so awesome to see everyone and share this special union. Hubby and I danced ALL FREAKING NIGHT! Oh my goodness, my quads hurt so bad yesterday, and still today. I tried walking to release some tension and lactic acid but didn't get very far before I threw in the towel and turned back (and I failed to set my watch but got in maybe a 1/4 mile). And exhausted...I felt as though I'd run a marathon trail run. We were soaked from dancing at the end of the night. Gosh it's been too long. We also got to see our friends that we haven't done anything with since COVID hit almost 2 years ago. It was GREAT to see them all. This morning was a peppermint mocha with an extra shot...still a bit dragging so now I'm jittery. haha.

House lights and deer still remain in the garage. Hubby too exhausted to do them yesterday. OH Lordy. And we received confirmation that my older two grandkids are going to be coming over Christmas eve so I'm excited and we'll do the luminaries with them.

Sheesh - I loved my grandbaby babysitting days...still do when we can have them. Enjoy and I'm glad she's close enough that you can help out. Great job on the reduction!!!

Sarah - great job in getting in the movement!! I really do need to follow you on that. And I'm glad hubby's back home. I like it the first night hubby goes somewhere, but then I feel lonely when he's not in bed the 2nd night....

Hi, everyone. It has been not so good a week for me in terms of weight progress. In fact, if today's figure holds, I've gone in the other direction. :s All in all, I have swung up and down from 129.0 to 131.4 once again. We'll see what tomorrow's weigh-in brings. It's hard this time of year with more sweets around (neighbors and friends brought more homemade candy and cookies to us) and for some reason, I just have a greater appetite when the weather is cold. I am walking every day and today talked to my doc during my yearly physical about the shoulder pain. She said she does not think it's rotator cuff and suggested that I try some yoga to see what happens. Yoga! I'm as good at that as I am at dancing! But I will find a yoga program on the cable and give it a try. I have a yoga DVD, but we disconnected the player awhile back and it's a pain to get to everything. So I'll use the Comcast freebies.

Lois, dancing (if one can do it, LOL) is great exercise and burns a lot of calories. Sounds like you also had a lot of fun. And tell your hubby not to feel bad about the outside lights. We still do not have any of them up either. I was hoping that hubby would get our outside tree lights on (we have an evergreen right out front) while I was getting my hair cut, but no such luck. My day has been busy with that very long doctor's appointment, back for lunch, and then out again for a hair cut and errands.

I did something interesting today, i.e., I agreed to take part in a medical research project that is looking at cardiovascular risk factors in healthy individuals of certain ages. It will more or less give me access to free testing beyond what is usually done and my doc said that most of the risk factors are modifiable, so if something is seen we can address it. I hesitated at first because it seems that insurance companies are always looking for information they can use to charge you more, but then I decided that I am tired of worrying or pre-worrying about everything.

Well, time to feed the kitties and get on my walking shoes. Looking forward to hearing from everyone tomorrow. We are taking a ride to meet up with hubby's cousin so it will probably be late in the day when I post, but I'll weigh when I shower in the a.m.
