UAC members are a fantastic resource. There is always someone willing to answer any questions you may have. However, did you know that there are other resources within the UAC? They are on the group page under ANNOUNCEMENTS- Introductions - This is where you can tell us a little about yourself
- What’s on your mind today? - Our general chat thread.
- Rules - an explanation of how UAC works
- FAQ’s - First port of call if you have a query
These are all great places to go to find out about the UAC. Learn more about your fellow members in “Introductions” and check out the "What's on your mind today” for a little extra chit-chit and finding out where the cool kids hang out.

My dear Friends thank you so much for feeling with me 💖. And really appreciate your support. And in spite of everything I have to get back on the track. At first I lost weight drastically. Now I am 5 kg over my ideal weight which was defined by my husband. He told I must not go over 58. And he was so proud that I lost 26 kg last year. He used to look at me his special way and when I asked what was going on, he told: "You are so beautiful". He also told that I must stay like that for ever. At the moment I have two issues to solve. I started smoking and wine 🍷 too often and too much. And this after one year without any alcohol at all.
Today was a 3xyes day. Jogging 11.6 km in the morning and 4 km walk in the evening. Planning to start over with Epic I tomorrow. 🙂18 -

Pass day - ate too much. Not off to a good start but we are still on holiday and go back tomorrow. I’m still exercising every day and being very active but eating close to 3,000 calories a day 😕 it’ll be much easier to control once I’m home.
I need to lose at least 20lbs by May so I need to get my act together!!9 -

@TerriRichardson112 Thank you for creating such an empowering start for us today Terri 🌟💡🙌🏻 And your comment is spot on Nan @Lessennan
@ForLangston Well done on your three yes day! ✅✅✅ Many are in this same situation right now and it can be a short term blessing! Either as a result of having been away or from having “dispersed” all the special holiday treats to family and friends. Happy grocery shopping and meal planning.
@taurie Well done on your honest accountability and perspective. It is so hard to be away, travelling, subject to the dining and food choices of others, but you’ve got this. You have your May motivation and your vision for your success. Tomorrow and this week will be a great reboot for you as you return to “business as “more” usual”. What’s your plan to address the calorie drop and your body’s response to that? Personally, I find being sure I have lots of protein and fibre on hand and at every meal or snack to be so helpful. And water — lots of water: plain, in herbal tea, or a (low calorie) bouillon can help me feel satisfied in the short term as my body and my brain adjust. Keep posting because you are a champion!

Back on track. We drove home today. I had a light breakfast, lunch and dinner at home.
Exercise was more difficult – I haven’t been sleeping well and am very tired.
So, three yeses today
1 pass day so far.

Well done on three “yeses” today:
@jjjcat - a beach walk sounds amazing to me right now! Would live to see photos at some point? Share that sunshine 🌞
@roma7774 - Another runner amongst us!
@Lessennan - What is your favourite form of intentional exercise? You are in Scotland, I believe? I was born in Greenock and we moved to Canada when I was five. Most of my family are still there (Gourock, Greenock, Largs, and Edinburgh). I really miss being able to visit them all and it is truly one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I am so eager for travel to open back up).
Well done @TerriRichardson112 on another stellar day!
Will continue to check back in for more posts as the day progresses. I am in Canada and at UTC/GMT -6 hours 🥰

Welcome new and old members.
Welcome January, 2022!
We are in a new year. Most of us are starting over after all the celebrations, vacations, etc. We all have these expectations of ourselves; we hope to do better this year, lose weight, maintain, form good habits, etc., etc.
The UAC challenge has only 3 rules.- Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
- Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
- Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?
At first glance, they look very simple. From my experience these rules are applicable to anyone at any stage of this health journey (I called it "health journey" not "diet"). Whether you are just beginning this health journey, advanced in this process or just maintaining.
I have come to realized that these are the only things that nobody in this life will do for me. Nobody can eat for me/you, exercise for me/you or track what I/you eat, lick or bite in this world. This is all about me/you, my/your health, and my usefulness to those around me! If I don't take care of my health then I cannot take care of anybody. (You are always advised to put on your mask when there is low pressure in the plane before helping your child/anybody, else both of you will/may die )
These are the facts I like to remind myself every month.
Does it mean that I will not fail? I have learned to forgive myself and give myself the grace I will readily give others. All modern inventions we are enjoying today were created and designed many times. In failing you learn what will not work and what works. Failure gives me opportunity to know myself.
No, it is not about being perfect! But it about forming a habit. A habit that will bless me and move me forward in life, it will also bless those around me. Everyone fails at a time in their life.
Therefore, as you join us in this month's UAC, you do not have to be perfect. We are not There is nothing you are going through that no one in this group has not experienced. You are not the only one out there! This is a very supportive group. We will support you as you learn these habits. Come by everyday, read encouraging, funny, and realistic posts, and post something.
If you have at most 3 pass days (pass day is a day where you could not say "Yes" to any of these 3 rules). Then you are in Winner's circle.
If you have more than 3 pass days and you are here everyday, you are in the Champion's circle. If you have more than 3 pass days please do not disappear. We are all in this together
I like reading about animals. The Sea Otters are very interesting. As big as these animals are they have a secret that we can learn and apply here.
Do you know that "Otter groups are called rafts, and the animals famously hold hands to keep from drifting apart."
https://animals.net/sea-otter/
https://oceana.ca/en/marine-life/sea-otter/
https://northamericannature.com/why-do-otters-hold-hands/
Let's hold unto one another like the Sea Otters. Let's each other hands through this month of January! We need you12 -
Personal goals for January 2022:
Every month, I like to revisit my previous goals and reset them for the new month.
1. Plan to be in winners circle (track everything as expected in this UAC) .
2. Not more than 3 pass days - If I did not meet this goal, I will post everyday. I am a champion
3. Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month). This is very important to me. This UAC challenge is a honour system.
4. Maintain the habits of "kitchen close"
5. Create a habit of not eating more than 1 serving of nuts. "Don't go nuts". I am getting a handle on this goal. But will continue to maintain it!
6. I will like to work on not going over my micro for sugar for the day. This means I need to work on the fruits I eat since most of my sugar come from my fruits. I like fruits, but I have discovered that they could derail you.
5. Forgive my mistakes (forgive myself) and don't leave the UAC for this month even if I failed. Very important for consistency and accountability.
6. Encourage others where possible.8 -

Yes x 3 for me today. I really needed this week of time off from work to regroup and get back on track. Also, I am very happy to have our only daughter back home from University. She still has to write her thesis but will be doing so while here at home with us.6 -

My dad is lovely about my lifestyle. I love people I can safely let into the bubble. So many people seem angry or defensive about the lifestyle choices (tracking etc) but he doesn't bat an eye.
Of course I wouldn't take my food scale just anywhere.. but I appreciate the few people I feel comfortable to do so around.
He hadn't seen me since Canadian Thanksgiving.. down another 18 pounds from there. He very tentatively asked if I'd lost more weight.. he didn't want to risk upsetting if I hadn't. But felt good he noticed.
We have been watching football all day but I've been walking as we watch to keep my steps up. He is curious about my new habits, but non-judgmental.. the best combo!8 -

Gym kicked my booty this morning.
Back to work tomorrow. The week off with the kiddo was lovely, but I could stand a week off by myself now. He’s got so much energy 😂🤣😴6 -

Between the rates of Omicron and the cold here today, it was another day to stay indoors and walk around my basement while listening to interesting stuff. Tloday it was Steven Gundry. I am also reading his book, The Energy Paradox, feeding my insatiable curiosity about gut/brain stuff.
