Yesterday was my last work Saturday because I’m switching work locations & schedules. I’ve been working Tues-Sat for most of 20 years. This is a big life change - less children/grandchildren time, shopping time changes, slightly longer drive. But I’ve been thinking outside the box of how to schedule everything.
I’ve been eating soup for lunch for years because it keeps me busy for a whole hour. (Yes, that’s a another story.) I don’t want to have to get up earlier for my morning workout. So, I’m thinking of switching to sandwiches or other portions of large cooked meals for lunch then doing 15-30 minutes of weights. I can also use lunchtime for shopping runs at a few nearby stores because I AM NOT GOING SHOPPING ON THE WEEKENDS. 🤪 I’m also going to see about using lunch to volunteer at a church about a block away.
I begin my new schedule the 1st week of February, & I hope my new plans/habits keep me busy so I don’t want to eat the whole lunchtime.
I haven’t said this many words here in like…ever.7 -
@jugar happy belated birthday! hope you did most if not all of your favorite things!
I'm learning that just stating 'Reset' in the morning is not strong enough to overcome crazy days of eating. Yesterday was an utter flop, I actually felt uncomfortable at the end of the day. I'll try to make THAT the motivation to eat much more consciously today and stick to the plan.

@deniners2 We love the so many words It is great to hear about your big changes coming up. It can be exciting, daunting, and all kinds of other things all at once. You are on top of the planning, though, and that will certainly make it easier to come out smiling on the other side of the change. For lunch you can make the soups ahead and bring some to work to warm up and eat? Soup for lunch beats sandwiches any day, IMHO
I'm getting to the tallies late this morning. Gotta get going!!4 -

But this past week has been unusual - I took Mum back down to London, and there were 3 days when I didn't workout at all!
I'm determined not to finish the month on a red, so I'm pulling out all the stops this week.7 -
@conleywoods Thanks - we had fun! And yes, thankful for padded shorts. Up until Christmas I didn't own a pair myself but I have one now and they were very handy for yesterday.
Won't be doing too much today.. need a quiet day. The weather is nice and the dog shall be walked for a longer one but aside from that we have football planned and not much else.

Steps. I am offline today because my Fitbit broke. Apparently, the 4 has this issue. It’s working fine. The piece that attaches to a band broke. Luckily I bought it at Costco and reading a forum learned I can return it. So off to Costco I go today to get a new one. I really feel like I need it after wearing a few years. 😂
My sleep is not as restful. Waking in the middle of the night with tons going through my head. I wonder why?

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone - it was last Tuesday, but I tried to pretend it wasn't happening. But 68 feels great so far, so I'm not going to complain!
We had another strong week, but we did not hit first place this time. I think we inspired the other teams because they ALL did better! The whole F2F group lost 107 pounds, and that is great for a 3rd week of the month. Usually those are our slowest weeks. WTG!
We have our first person who has achieved 4 weeks in the green - @lonestarbabe you did it! A loss every week this month. There are 8 more people who have 3 so far, so let's keep this week super green so that you get all 4
A few more Sunday weigh-ins to come:

Tally ho!3 -

I did not do much yesterday which was good and not good - brains are so weird4 -
We are through week three of January, and we are absolutely killing it! Fantastic work, everyone! All of you contributed to some incredibly strong numbers last week and you should all be proud of yourselves. Click on the link below to see the results!
And here's a sneak peek into how your team did...

Not sure how this happened. I was around 191 all week and shot up 3 lbs on Saturday. Scale issues or water retention I am guessing. Hoping it drops down just as quickly. I have been within my calories almost every day. Only 1 day over in three weeks. Urghhh5 -

Actually, you lost 0.6 lb since the last weigh-in I had - so don't worry too much! I'm not sure how it happened, but I did not get your weigh-in from last week at 193.6. I went back and searched through the thread again this morning, so I am very relieved to see your post today! I was getting worried... Too bad you had a bounce up from 191, but I'm sure it will sort itself out. You're down 3 lbs for the month so far, though - a pound a week is good progress for sure.3 -

@conleywoods I will definitely get some photos when it's finally done!
@bowens1973 @ashleycarole86 amazing job! That is a lot of effort right there, you should both be really proud.
The small gain this week is a shame but I'm not really surprised; it could've gone any which way. We've been so crazily busy that I haven't been tracking plus I am really scraping the barrel when it comes to my energy levels now and have been reaching for the carbs. I've been far hungrier than normal - including late at night, either because I've been up way later than normal (2x after 1am, then midnight last night!) or just with the extra activity. We had really salty food yesterday too which never helps water retention.
The many hours we did decorating (over 22 for me, and about 15 for OH) have been worth it - the decorators have pretty much finished. They're going to come back in a couple of weeks to build a platform on the stairs so they can do the top edges of the walls in the hall way two stories up; going at it with a brush on a pole just wasn't working. They'll also put blinds up for us at the same time, but in the interim once the flooring is down we'll be able to get back to normal and I CANNOT WAIT. We still have a final coat to put on the office door (tricky, as we've been shutting the cats in there) and another top coat in the airing cupboard, plus lay vinyl flooring in there - all jobs for tonight.
I forced myself to run yesterday (took about an hour to get out of the door because I really didn't want to!) as I needed to do a 5k at race pace for my training program. Started off just running for speed then walking when I needed to, but the recovery was quite slow so I switched to lamppost-lamppost. I developed a new mantra, which is "whatever I've got", and I said that to myself, often out loud, each time I had to run. Quite often I was surprised with what I had in each short burst. Overall the 5k time was really slow compared to my best from August (6 1/2 minutes in it) BUT I find these stats really interesting to compare:
Fastest pace
August - 9:13/mile
Yesterday - 7:09/mile
Average HR
August - 178bpm
Yesterday - 138bpm
Max HR
August - 196bpm
Yesterday - 181bpm
Max cadence
August - 172
Yesterday - 225
Found a way to compare both in Garmin - blue is August (best 5k), red is yesterday.
The point of the race pace training is to be able to sustain the faster paces for longer - so increasing lampposts, basically. Alas, when I got into bed last night (after a few more hours decorating) my heels really, really hurt. I actually couldn't sleep they were that painful, the left one in particular. I think it's just concussion - and I need to replace my road trainers ASAP - but I'm hoping it doesn't go into full blown plantar fasciitis. I've given my trainer a heads up so we can address it in the morning. I have bruised knees/shins from kneeling whilst painting low woodwork, a fatigued right shoulder, an achy back and I want to sleep for 24 hours but otherwise I'm fine.7 -
Hoping I'm not too late with my numbers!
1/19: 39 minutes elliptical + 30 minutes weightlifting + 10800 steps
1/20: 39 minute walk + 20 minutes elliptical + 40 minutes yoga + 9645 steps
1/21: 2430 steps
1/22: 40 minutes elliptical + 32 minutes weightlifting + 7415 steps
1/23: 33 minutes elliptical + 12 minutes weightlifting + 8750 steps

Had a binge day on Friday night and I really enjoyed myself, I have to say. It wasn't crazy but was enough that I couldn't make up for it Saturday or Sunday, so I had to just take the surplus in calories.

We ordered Indian food on Saturday and had leftovers Sunday. It was delicious! My scale sure doesn't like me now though. But I'd rather it be for delicious, good quality food that I love than for some disappointing fast food.3 -
Last week was not a good week for steps. I had a couple days sick in bed with a migraine and another couple just plain lazy days.
I haven't checked in in a few days, I'll be back later to catch up on posts. 🙂

Relieved my weight stayed the same. Still dealing with Covid in our house. My younger (17 year old) son is now on day 12 and is coughing like crazy. Our doctor has prescribed an inhaler that we’re hoping will help. Two full weeks off of school while in Grade 12 - has been so stressful. But, it’s a Monday, and I woke up feeling like today is a great day for a fresh start.

I forgot to weigh my self on Sunday and went to work so couldn’t do it after because I eat.
Pw 104 kg
Cw 104.5 kg
I am attempting to get off keto early hence the water weight gain. Hopefully I stabilize my eating pattern this week.

@MandiSaysHey I hope you are feeling better this week too - migraines are miserable.
@graceojo999 hang tough on your eating as you ease off keto - you can do it! What are you aiming for as the next phase eating plan?kellie_erin wrote: »We ordered Indian food on Saturday and had leftovers Sunday. It was delicious! My scale sure doesn't like me now though. I hope everyone is having a great day! If you have any friends you would like to invite to join this or any of the other Fat 2 Fit teams, it is time to do our monthly recruiting - here is the link to the sign-up thread:

If you are already here, even if you just started in January, you do NOT have to sign up again! This is just for anyone who wants to start in February4 -
Today, I worked out and I logged all of my food. I was under calories but a little high in carbs (47%, I try to get 39%). It was a good day5
-
I'm taking it easy this evening - no biking tonight, keeping warm, and watching the funny raccoon who is out on quite a chilly night. Usually they only come out when it is right around freezing or just above. I think someone forgot to make enough provisions for the winter...
Quiet for reminders tonight too! There are no Tuesday weigh-ins (it's our team day off, it seems ) and only one person running a bit late - @Gidgitgoescrazy are you there? Hope so!1 -
Hello!
Today I kept getting distracted at work so I didn't eat very much of my lunch, skipped breakfast altogether and said no to doughnuts at work. This turned out to be a very good thing. My husband called on the way home from work and let me know my daughter was student of the quarter! Hooray! She wanted to celebrate with fast food and milkshakes. Luckily I was able to celebrate too and stay in calories. Worked out for 40 minutes. Put the kids to bed and now I am relaxing with a cup of coffee but said no to cinnamon bread.
Trying to bring some enthusiasm back to work lately. I have a chunk of money through work that has to be spent by the end of the year or I forfeit it. I signed up for a monthly subscription for sensory bins from a company called Mama of Joy. I also bought some play dough kits from a company called Young, Wild and Friedman. I picked out a valentines set, pizza kit and a garbage truck themed one that I'm sure all the boys will fight over. Wish me luck getting these out of my house first! Check these out if you have littles!3
