Very true! Habits are like the tiny course corrections a large ship makes. Something with that kind of mass just isn't built for maneuverability.
At first nothing seems so very different.
But then cumulative effect eventually makes itself felt. The effect can be positive or negative. It all depends on which habits have been nudging the current course.

Still very windy here but not raining. I got two short bike rides, first to the shops in the morning and then to the gym in the afternoon.
The future is largely beyond our control, and sometimes it’s better not to know what’s around the corner.
No healthy habits of mine could have changed the fact that my son developed an untreatable brain tumour and died at only 41 years old, changing all our futures.

I really want to start running again, so my aim for tomorrow is to do the first day of the C210k programme. I've been meaning to do that for a while; hopefully stating the intention here will help get me going 😬7 -

And I was SO hungry all day. Still hungry this morning. My stomach is rumbling as I type this.
I am reflecting on my habits and routines lately - which ones serve me, which ones don't. So that was a timely question. I like thinking about how they are pointing you towards the future. I tend to just reflect on how they are getting me through the day but I'm going to think about that too.
