The 300 milestone

My weight has been fluctuating a lot lately, mainly because of my determination to get under 300 lbs. I drop water weight unintentionally (perhaps a little bit intentionally, per my subconscious) and it comes back. The overall trend is still down, and has remained so since starting this effort. I hit 300.5, then 299.7, then 301, then 300.3, etc etc etc. The last two days I have come in under 300. I'm not declaring victory over this milestone yet, but I am ready to say that I *think* I can keep it under 300 from now on.

For some background on my weight measurements, I enjoy sampling once or twice per day. I know it's not for everyone, but it's not harmful in any way and I'm a data geek so :p. Also, I'm using a fitbit Aria scale as my "official" measuring device. It automatically logs my weight and estimated BF%, and it looks good on the bathroom floor. It is also consistently higher than all the other scales I have access to... so in reality I may have been under 300 for a couple of weeks now... but this is the "official" aria number we're dealing with here. It said 298.4 this morning :)

This makes me happy, and further motivates me to keep at it. Thanks for the support, my Big & Tall brothers. Here's hoping we all defeat a major milestone in the very near future!

    Yeah, man!

I am hovering at 305-307 for the last 1.5 months, and I changed up my workout routine and took more calories out of my diet. I am now eating under 1500 a day to try to break this plateau. Hopefully I'll see a 2 on the scale in about 3 weeks.

you will, man. You've made so much more progress than I have already it makes me jealous :)

have you tried eating at maintenance for a few days to shake things up? maybe some HIIT? I haven't plateaued yet on this journey, but in the past I would pig out for a couple days (sticking to high protein but allowing myself more carbs and fats and overall calories) and then go right back to the diet. That always seemed to shake things loose for me. I'm now finding out that I had happened upon a technique that is actually scientifically supported. I just slipped up once and saw a change, so I tried it again... turns out, it can help right the wrongs we all do to our respective metabolisms

I remember that teetering right around 300. I never really felt comfortable thiking I was no longer under 300 until I hit right around 295. Im currently right around 285, now I cant wait till I get into the 270's cuz thats where I was in HS. Isn't it funny that HS weight is now a goal but while I was in HS I thought I was soooo fat

heh I did too... I lost weight after HS, so I'm shooting for that number now :)

I think I'm officially under 300 now, hopefully for good. The aria scale said 296 this morning and it's been dropping a little every day. yay! ok, now to focus on 275 :-D

A small update: I can only see 300 in the rear-view mirror now :)

I'm closing in on 290, and am officially back to my wedding weight (4.5 years ago). A year ago I was a little over 350, today I weighed in at 291. I'm happier than a puppy with two peters.

Had a minor setback this month. Got a bad head/chest cold and couldn't workout (or breathe, really) and didn't take good care of myself (lot of comfort food while sick), and I found my self back up a few pounds. But, rather than beat myself up about it, I woke up this morning, hit the gym hard, and got right back to calorie counting and drinking plenty of water. I'm going to finish December strong, no matter what. I WILL put 300 behind me, just not as soon as I thought.

Good attitude Cap, wondered where you were. I'm chasing 300 still, only 42 more to go.

I started at 375 last November, got down to around 305, have put on about 10 lbs and am hovering at 315 right now. Need to keep tighter tabs on my diet. I ate pretty badly when I was sick. I didn't have the energy to go shopping and make homemade meals, so I ordered out a lot. It's in the past, and I can't change it, so I can change what I do going forward.
