Tracking – yes

I have done less exercise than usual today – may just reach 10,000 steps – but I did get a 30 minute bike ride done (and got wet on the last stretch)
I’m away tomorrow morning, will have to use my phone to keep up with posting.7 -

Up until this moment, I have never looked at the blogs. Other than when they were “upgrading” MFP, I have only ever used the app (iOS) and can’t see a way to create a private blog post or do anything other than see the most recent or most popular posts made by others.
Is there a theme from yours that you noticed and could share? Did you find this function helpful to your journey?2 -
I had planned a pass day today, as we had a family afternoon tea for DYD’s birthday last Monday. However, when I tracked, I was surprised to find that I was in the green.
✅ Exercise: 71 mins
✅ Calories: under goal
✅ Tracked
Remaining pass days: 3️⃣SummerSkier wrote: »Do you all every use the private blog feature? I have used it off and on for years and it is funny to go back and read some of my entries now.
I have used the blog feature, but I haven’t made an entry recently, as I was having difficulty accessing it on my iPhone. Maybe I will have another go 😂4 -
I’ve only used it on my pc And when I was losing weight it was really helpful to record all my doubts and struggles. A nice private place. Sometimes now I use it to rant and rave at things. Gets them off my chest Anyway just another feature of MFP to play with.

Good day, spent part with my dad we celebrated his 87th birthday today, last year he spent it alone at the hospital recovering from heart surgery. Remarkable recovery. So hard to leave him last year with COVID we had to leave him at the door of the hospital and communicate by phone.
Tracked logged and rowed along with snow shoveling I can’t wait for a rake!!6 -

Thanks @SummerSkier — I really should find some time to sit down at a PC (well, my MacBook…) and check out other functionality on offer. Ranting and raving in a private quiet place sounds right up my alley these days. 🥸Wishing you a good week ahead. 💐2 -

How lovely to get a celebration in with family today AND to find that you were under goal in the end. ✅ I have yet to find that private blog function on the app on my iPhone but @summerskier has intrigued me to try out MFP on my MacBook. 💡1 -

Soooooooo. HUGE Thank You shout-out to @SummerSkier for jumping in yet again when the person who was SUPPOSED to post the Thought For the Day (yours truly) .... didn't.
And I had a great one drafted in my mind .... got up from supper thinking "Best get it in now, so that it is ready for early readers ...."
And realized that I had mentally turned the CALENDAR BACK rather than just the clock forward.
I HONESTLY thought that today was still Saturday the 12th!
My Thought For The Day can tie into @SummerSkier 's question about Have you ever used the MFP private blog feature? (or any other kind of blog / journalling environment for that matter)
Have you ever gone back and re-read impressions from your Younger Self? What have you learned over the years that you wish you could pass back upstream to that Younger Self?

@BMcC9 Glad to see you surface and that all is well! We don’t change the clocks/time here in Saskatchewan but we live through the pain of it through others. 🥰
What I wish I knew or could pass on to my younger self: learn how to know when to hold them; know when to fold them; know when to walk away; and, know when to run. Yes, this is a Willie Nelson song 😀 I realize this may sound like this is a joke. No joke. I wish I had learned the truth of this earlier in my life and that I had listened and applied the many insights when they were shared with me so many times over the years (especially about knowing when and why to run….). I think some of us are primed for martyrdom by our family environments and our temperaments. It serves nobody in the end; worst of all yourself. For me, it has caused extended periods of self denial and a lack of investment in self care (always concerned for someone else who was always more important than me). But hindsight is 20/20 and the future can hold promise for each of us. On that self care wagon now and I won’t be getting off any time soon. I have many miles to make up.2 -

Okay…thankfully I only ate half of my restaurant meal because when I logged in all the calories, etc. I saw that lunch alone was 545 calories with a coke!!! I may throw out the other half instead of having it for lunch tomorrow- too much!! Also, I should have gotten a kid-sized coke (helps w/my cramps).
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, housework
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Barely, yes

Pass day. Got out for a nice long walk. But this evenings tea and dessert ended up being far more calories than I expected putting me slightly over. Not too worried about it… it’s a good reminder to pre-log, but also a good reminder to sometimes just eat the cake with my kids on family game night!4

✔︎ 20+ mins exercise (1hr 43mins walk)
✔︎ Within calorie budget (focused on eating intuitively for a day; did not eat unless I was hungry and stopped when I had first twinge of "full")
✘ Log everything (again, purposeful day of eating only based on hunger/fullness cues)
Consistency Tracking (☘️=3 ✔︎'s, 🏴☠️=pass):

Passes used = 2 / 3
Habits I'm continuing to track this month:
✔︎ Morning meditation (feeling empowered by sticking with my meditation routine through the weekend!)

✔︎ Drink >64oz water (I'm seeing a huge difference when I hit the >90oz mark... thinking of upping the minimum for habit tracking next month)
